In a very distant land,
Torn by mild decay,
There lived a humble beggar,
Or at least that’s what they say.
Believe now what you read,
For this tale is very true,
And hold on to your desk,
For this tale relates to you.
In said very distant land,
Full of dark and scary gloom,
One day arrived a princess,
And her hair was oh so blue.
“People of the Kingdom,
Famished you have been,
But now I have arrived,
And I bring you lots of cream.”
With a grin from the princess,
The Kingdom began its change,
And the streets were now anew,
In sweet candy and perfume.
Bricks became pasties,
Cement became cream,
The people became happy,
For now they lived a dream.
The joy lasted not forever,
For the princess now fell ill,
And what was once cocoa fever,
Now it went down the hill.
Every other candy,
Delicious, new and sweet,
Returned to the castle,
In less than a heart’s beat.
Pink streets of candy clouds,
Red licorice and milk,
Now became as dark and bitter,
As the sight of burning silk.
“Damned be that girl
And those she got to meet,
For now they toss each other,
Right into her feet.
I shall storm the castle,
And free us from this doom,
And I shall bring the candy,
And the sweetest of perfumes."
