Suggestion: Armor Skill?

So the thought occurred to me, and I feel it's a bit relevant if you think about it. This is a suggestion for a new skill to be added or at least considered and it's one that is very specific much as how Combat is broken down into different uses as well for Blunt, Ranged, Thrown, etc. We have all the arcana for the different magics that will soon be out, and a pretty decent combat skill but there is nothing on armor, its use or how to use it. To break it down, armor from my understanding is more than just a protective garment or additional layer of defense but its a whole different deal when someone is in it. As it stands right now, anyone (of course in reason) can don a suit of full plate and theoretically go about their business with no measure of their training or knowledge of it. As someone who practiced in real life with HEMA gear, armor weighs a bit and can be a bit of a pain to move in if you're not used to it, but it is not as restrictive as some may think -- but the knowledge on how to use it could be a factor. Something light is easier to don, use and move in while heavier options get a bit more complicated, and only more so with more pieces added on. Mechanically speaking, it is possible for anyone to have the knowledge to wear leather to fullplate be that they are a farmer or soldier.

It was just something that popped in my head, just a short ramble but I thought it had some merit to bring up.

On top of that a high armour skill might see a lot more people skirting a good set of armour in trade of the cheapest stuff they can get their grubby little hands on.

I've always felt that an IC fight between someone in, say, plate, and another in leather, it simply goes without saying that the leather clad fighter is going to run circles around the plated one. If the plate wearer was to simply thread that he keeps up with every move of his opponent, I'm going to call BS on it.

By the same token, if the leather wearer claims to go toe-to-toe, trading blows with him, he's toast.

There would be the need for "Tactics" by the plate wearer to trick the other into a predictable move, whereupon he gets a devastating axe shot to the chest or something. I will certainly acknowledge that Strength and Endurance would enable the plate wearer to have additional mobility, and should be considered as justification for some occasional quick moves.

I do not think a specific skill is necessary. Logic should serve to sort that out. I hope, anyway. :roll:
