I figure I'll put this thread up for asking questions about Dreamwalking and how it plays with Emea and Domain magics. This thread is primarily aimed at Anomaly, but feel free to leave your own thoughts if you have a clue!
1. How long does it take to travel from a starting location to a brand, say, across the ocean of Idalos through Emea? Would you like to come up with a travel time calculation if it's more than a couple trials?
2. The Branding wordage says one can see the brands through the Veil. Can one travel within the veil to a brand? Or is it the Untold only? Perhaps the Untold is faster, but more risky?
3. When physically traveling to Emea, what does it look like, and how long does it take for someone to cross over?

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Hello,
1. As long as it takes to create the image in your mind and initially step through the layers required, which is a matter of moments if you're experienced. I'll likely write a section to expand on the process, but once you actually reach the level required to move through Emea to travel any sort of distance, the visualization process would take seconds and extend into a minute or two at most before you arrive on the other side, barring any interferences. Before you reach the level required to learn "Crossing", you'll always need to be asleep for your abilities to be relevant. Hence, it is unreliable and depends on when you can put yourself to sleep and how long you take to put yourself in a lucid state of dreaming, which isn't necessarily easy or guaranteed every time you sleep. (Meditation is a good complementary skill for that reason.)
2. You can travel (physically) within the Veil only after you learn "Crossing", because you need to bring your physical body with you. Travelling anywhere within the Veil requires you to step through another individual's Dreamscape, however, irregardless of any Brands on said individual. If you want to travel to a Brand in a physical location, you need to go through the Untold.
3. Emea's a realm of imagination, so it looks like the character imagines it to look. It'll be fluid and fantastical in a Wonderland sort of way, but it'll adjust to the character to make itself comprehensible. The character's mind generates an environment and creates a distance based on their interpretation of what they're faced with. As such there's a lot of liberty to be creative with how things look unless it's a moderated thread, in which a moderator can set the stage as they please. Emea is a living thing that constantly shifts. It's not one place. It's the cradle of "reality", and all realities. Half-baked realities swim around in it, and thoughts take shape. How long it takes for someone to Cross over largely depends on the character's understanding of the distance between themselves and their destination, so it can take anytime between a few minutes to hours or days. It's very difficult to give a solid answer to since it depends so much on the character once they get there (which requires 30 completed dream threads and initiation before it becomes relevant, which should ideally have developed personal understaning and interpretation that consequently impacts how they travel). The Gatekeepers exist to moderate that once it becomes relevant in the future.
I hope this helps, for now. Sorry the answers are so vague --- I'm coming back out of a hiatus, so this is something I'll look at again very soon if the answers aren't satisfactory for the time being.

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Thanks, Anomaly!
I'll keep dumping the questions in here as I find them.
With Meditation is it possible to realize that Emea is presented to you through personal interpretation of comprehension and thus modifiable through intense thought about how you perceive Emea?
Also, would Kielik's mark grant access to Dreamweaving beyond Novice as well?

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Hey again,
re: Meditation - I believe it'd be possible with the acquisition of relevant Knowledges through introspection and observations within threads, thus getting them awarded. It's part of learning what lucid dreaming means, which doesn't actually require you to be initiated in dreamwalking at all. "Lucid dreaming" is a state that you can achieve without it, wherein you gain superficial control of some of the elements of your dreams and can be consciously aware of how those elements can change, but it won't affect Emea in any tangible way nor will it affect other dreamers significantly inside your own Dreamscape, and also only affects your own Dreamscape (hence, has no effect at all when you pop into someone else's dream, or join someone else's dream thread).
re: Kielik's mark - No. Kielik's mark, the way I've visualized it in its infant stages, is geared more towards staying awake and tormenting those who sleep, feeding on them while they do. It won't have anything to do with Dreamwalking, and if it does, won't offer the marked any protections or access.

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Thanks again~
I will say that I was hoping for at least some tie-in with Dreamwalking for Kielik's mark although that does make sense due to the Insomnia aspect!
One more question:
How does Jesine feel about mages, would she mark one?

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Kielik's Mark sounds dope!
I have a few questions about it, if you don't mind. I realize it's probably in development, but my curiosity is too strong to resist.
1 - Dreamwalkers (And Jesnine's followers) get access to Emea and it's various layers, where wonders and knowledges await to be discovered - as well as the ability to teleport! If Kielik's mark does not allow for said exploration, does it have something to 'compensate' for said restriction? Are they still able to get these a hold of these mysteries and wonders?
2 - On a previous answer, you mentioned Kielik's marked 'feed' on those that sleep. What sort of feeding are we talking about?
That's all. I'm really excited about Kielik's mark!

Dreamwalking / Emea Questions
Kielik's mark is still being developed yes, but I'll try to answer as best I can.
1. Yes. Kielik's marked are intended to come close to the stereotypical vampires. Their abilities will largely be about feeding on those around them, draining energy and other things and leaving their victims tired and drained (insomnia, oblivion). I haven't worked out the kinks just yet, but it'll heavily compensate for their lack of access to Emea or underpowered nature in that regard, as they have benefits in Idalos.
2. See above. Most of it isn't worked out in detail though. Still in the brainstorming stages.
They will be rendered mostly immune to anything that Jesine's followers can do, or Dreamwalkers, since they will be preternaturally attuned to staying awake. Always. All the time.
