Creed's Trench

Creed's Trench
Image
Deep in the heart of Brineborn territory, the ocean floor was raised up around the resting place of Kiba’s mortalborn son, Creed, during the eight days and nights that they world was rocked by his anger. Only expert sailors can navigate the shallow waters and winding reefs between the sea and the trench of water that sinks down further than any rope tethered to an anchor and cast overboard has ever gone. Here the Brineborn make most of their offerings to Kiba, sinking whole chests full of gold and other treasures. It is said that during an earthquake, the sea pulls back and reveals all of the land here, except in the trench, a channel so vast it can safely accommodate a whole fleet of tall ships, sheltering them from the storm. The land around the trench is also referred to as ‘The Graveyard’ as so many ships have met their end on the reef, especially when caught at low tide, or by mistakenly sailing into the channel during a storm, only to be thrown against the rocks.

Devotion

Followers of the immortal Kiba can earn up to 10 devotion points for sailing into Creed's Trench and throwing an offering of gold into the dark, blue depths. Must have 50+ skill points in Seafaring to navigate the waters around the trench. Donations can be made no more than once per season. The Brineborn believe it is bad luck to sail into the trench during Cylus, but offerings will still be rewarded during this time with devotion points (generally 5-10 gold per point, but it all depends on the story and act. If for example, it was your character's last piece of gold in all the world, and they sailed all the way there just to throw it into the trench, full points would be awarded).
