Hi there! I thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Viki. I came to write with a friend of mine. Been RPing since I was 13, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I was very active on AOL at the time, before moving to forums, and eventually discord.

I registered under my PC name and I hope that’s correct. If I have to make an OOC account please lmk.

I’m still reading the extensive lore but I want to tip my hat to the staff team. Job well done!

The welcome pm you received on joining should have a lot of useful information to get you started, but if you have any questions about building your character sheet, please let us know. Regardless, when you're ready to submit your character we'll help you get it right if it needs adjusting. So don't worry about any additions/changes that are needed to be made there. There's no need for an ooc account here, unless applying for staff, so no worries there. Your first account should ideally be a character account so you did good

If you have any questions about anything forum related or lore related, feel free to ask right here, and we'll try to steer you right.

Thanks very much! I spent another hour this morning pouring over the lore, so the struggle to write another one is real!

I do have a silly coding question.

I made my character sheet (still tweaking) with the code someone named Pegasus provided but I saw in the CS channel that some people had really amazing templates and I have no idea where they got them.

I know HTML, Java, and some CSS but BBCode is rough. I did use BB when I was playing on Dragonsmark from like 2004-2018 or so, but the site shut down when the creator unfortunately passed away. And also, I probably used it very minimally there.

Is there a forum with coding help? Or resources?

Well yes there is A Guide to BB Code & Box Code Creation!. But ultimately it's difficult to make something completely from scratch.

We all started somewhere when it comes to bbcode, and for many of us it involves copying the templates that we like, and adding our own images and eventually when we learn what this or that piece of code does, tweaking/tinkering with them. Over time many of us have gotten comfortable with it. The way to copy is to push the button down below on a template that you like:
Once it catches the quote, you can edit the links to images and such after copy pasting into your own template thread.

Also if you need a place to host images we strongly encourage you host them on this site, so the images will remain as long as the site itself does. You do that by entering the UCP, and the gallery tab to create an album and host your images you want to use.
Don't worry about "stealing templates", most of us are happy to share the ones we create, and I'd certainly encourage you to adopt any of mine so long as you use your own images. Patterns and such are up for grabs generally though as far as I'm concerned, as they're character agnostic

If it makes you more comfortable, though, you can always ask before using a template format. Nobody should get mad at you for asking.

Thank you so much! I think I did stumble upon this last night but lost it and ended up making a table with a form I found on google. XD

I'll keep the rest of what you said in mind!

I did start using Lensdump but then saw there was a gallery option and moved over there. I still have to move my links over...
