This rumor is tempered though by the people of Eureka, who assure anyone who asks that he simply speaks with his hands. Rumor: Word has spread that Dandelion has established his own settlement in the new Stormlakes region in late Saun. It's speculated that perhaps he has some faustian bargain struck with Lovalus in order to cause the rainfall of last season, but this is only heard from the truly delierious gossips. |

Vhalar 722 Seasonal Calendar
Weather in Rharne
Vhalar Weather
Vhalar is described as the season of harvest, where vegetables, herbs, and other produce are ripe for reaping one last time. During the beginning of this season, the temperature is still fairly hot, even though the second sun has moved away. As the trials progress, the weather cools while the leaves slowly change from thriving green to lively red, yellow, auburn, and purple. The grass wilts and hardly any color is saved by the end of the season except for the pines and other shrubs and trees. Vhalar takes on a chill during its final days before sinking into the cold season of Zi'da.
Vhalar lasts a total of 123 trials (days). It is a festive time for most cities as the temperature mid-season is quite enjoyable.
Local weather:
1st of Vhalar to the 45th of Vhalar - These days are marked by a sudden heat front that follows in the wake of the unseasonable Saun rains of the prior cycle. Foggy dusk and dawn hours are a fact of life, which often enough stretch into the midday. Otherwise, there's far less precipitation during this period, only one or two days where it full on rains (the 13th and the 41st).
42nd - 76th: The Fog finally clears, giving way to bright sunny and beautiful autumn weather. The Harvest is especially good during this time, and it shows in the festive spirit that pervades Rharne during this period.
77th - 98th: The first chill occurs midway through this period, with space precipitation. The first snows fall on the 97th.
99th - 123rd: Mostly sparse flurries and very little in the way of ground-snow gather during this period. The Stormlakes don't experience any snow at all, but remain somewhat balmier than the rest of Rharne.

Event Calendar
All Cycle Long: Erosion uncovers hidden wealth While the torrential Saun rains of the previous season, combined with humidity had caused their share of damages to the settled areas along the Zynyx River and other places, the Stormwastes, now colloquially referred to as the Stormlakes region, have been affected in a different way. The lack of vegetation in the Stormwastes has given way to large land slides. But apart from the usual difficulties this presents the sparse settlements in that region, it uncovers a wealth of mineral and earthen riches. Clay deposits are unearthed, gravel is in abundance, and even gold and silver deposits might be discovered through panning the ponds and oases. While this presents an opportunity for various settlements and fortifications to expand into the Stormlakes region, it has also led to a rash of treasure hunters and other less savory folk, looking to cash in on the rush to capitalize on the uncovered resources.
2nd of Vhalar onwards: Jacadons spotted in the Mire: The rumors of great reptilian, dragon-like creatures migrating to the edges of the Stormlakes region become more than just rumor, as scouts spot several large reptiles stalking through the Mire, bathing and hunting in neighboring bodies of water. They are identified by some who are familiar with the Rynmerish creature, as Jacadons. Alarmingly, several daring scofflaws have been seen to stalk these creatures, although their purpose whether to hunt them or tame them is currently unclear.
9th of Vhalar: Warden Dreams: The Avatar of Lovalus appears to all Wardens during this night. She tells them that they need to visit the former Stormwastes, or it will return to its scorched and desert state. Once they arrive at the Stormwastes, it will be made clear what they need to do and where. Mod Input, Reward.
13th of Vhalar: Cursed Liquor: A strange brew master appears at the corner of the Earth Quarter's busier street and the thoroughfare leading to Little Ivorian. He claims that a liquor he has on offer is actually cursed. As a dare, he challenges anyone to take a drink from it. Whoever takes him up on it, will be rewarded richly. Mod Input, Reward.
21st of Vhalar: Paid to take a Fall: A sponsored fighter of the Blackwood Bar is accused to taking a fall in exchange for a payout. The fighter in question denies it vehemently, but the tavern owner insists that he's never seen the man more off his game and yet casual about it. Investigate, do something about it, or capitalize on the opportunity to wiggle into a sponsorship at the Blackwood Bar! Your choice. Open, non-moderated
31st of Vhalar: Red Moon's Night of Delights: The moons shine red this night, and a large grinning face smiles down on people of a night. Anyone who attends a celebration of any kind during this night, whether a party, a festive drinking session, or even a brawl anywhere in Idalos, they will find themselves drawn out into the streets by a throng of party-goers, where they will be transported to the Carnival of Calamity's Square. Whatever they do from there, whatever happens during the Carnival, they will find they may emerge from wherever they originated, and onto the streets of Rharne. The Carnival has games, most of which are unwinnable, others which are imminently winnable (and thus become unbearably boring), and food that is at turns terrible yet delightful, drinks that make your head dizzy and while your feet and hands want to dance, or vice versa. (This is meant as a method of visiting Rharne instantly, sans travel time, should you be so inclined to arrive in this quirky way.)
32nd - 41st of Vhalar: Every Night Should be Red Moon's Night!: Some of the Curse Avatars from Calamity Square was left behind in the wake of Red Moon's Night. He/She/They claim they need to be kissed in order to send them back to their master, Tio Silver in Santa Maledecia. Should you decide to help them, you will awake the next morning with a strange curse, which is also vaguely beneficial in some way. (Mod Input only if you want to kiss the Avatar, and be cursed.)
45th - 52nd of Vhalar: Annual Beer Festival: The Annual Beer Festival opens up its arms to the public, during which all citizens (with the exception of those who work in the service industry) are excused from work. During the day, the streets in the Earth Quarter and the Glass Quarter are lined with booths of brewers sampling and selling locally brewed beers as well as merchants from all over Idalos peddling their wares. In the evenings, taverns across Rharne are filled with revelers. High Priestesses/Priests from the Thunder Priesthood faction often travel the city and encourage celebrations by sharing their Bottomless Wineskin ability from their Palenon blessings.
69th of Vhalar: Airing of Greivances: For reasons that are unclear to anyone, most of the people of Rharne on this date will find themselves entirely disinterested in physical altercations with each other. WIth the brawlers of the city grumbling about boredom, astute scholars and budding politicians and merchants take it upon themselves to start a debate tournament, during which the arguments are set, and one must argue, loudly and with conviction, in defense of their chosen position. Will this be the start of a new tradition in Rharne?
72nd - 74th of Vhalar: The Feats of Strength: Strongmen rejoice! There will be competitions where lifting of large loads and conveyance of such, and other assorted tests of strength that aren't combative are tested during this day. Luggers and foremen are on the lookout for promising recruits to their companies, among these contestants, and start up a small tournament. Those who manage to carry the largest loads the farthest from the Dust Quarter up to the steps of the Sky Quarter, will win glory, wealth, and job opportunities. (Open - Unmoderated)
83rd - 89th of Vhalar: Creepy Pumpkins: Strange pumpkins begin cropping up on the banks of the clay-laden banks of the Zynyx River, closer to the Zynx Market. This in itself might not be thought o be strange, but these pumpkins have faces emblazoned on them that are remarkably lifelike, and creepy, with pained expressions. (Chance to dev a new flora! Open - Unmoderated)
108th - 120th of Vhalar: A Rasher of Bacon Thieves: A rasher, I mean a rash of burglaries, where pork product and bacon are stolen out of butcheries, begin occurring to the ranchers outlying Rharne's countrysides. These reports are particularly prevalent around Caervalle Town. What's going on? Is someone really hungry, or is it all a load of hogwash? (Open - Unmoderated)
Note: Players are welcome to self-moderate any calendar event that does not have Mod Input next to the date. Such dates will require a mod's input/oversight if you're to investigate.
Zi'da 722 Seasonal Calendar
Weather in Rharne
Weather for Zi'da
Zi'da rolls in, bringing with it the cold winds of death. This season was named in honor of the Immortal Daia, after she was struck down at the hands of a human, thus manifesting the war between deities presently. Zi'da is a cool season that only progressively gets colder. Very few flora survive during this time and the trees, barren and lifeless. Animals have settled down to hibernate while the only real noise that disturbs the peaceful silence of Zi'da are the humans that walk about and the Immortals that fight for control. Snow is common during this season, along with freezing rain and blizzards.
Zi'da lasts for a total of 93 trials (days). Though it is considered a cold season, the weather and chill of Zi'da pales in comparison to Cylus.

Local Weather:
Throughout Zi'da intermittent snow showers will occur, and a general chill falls over most of Rharne. The snows are strongest in early ZI'da, but begin mellowing out toward the middle and end of the season. There's a small modicum of ground cover throughout the seasons, except for the Stormlakes region, which is fairly dry and temperate.

Event Calendar
All Cycle Long: Anti-Thieves It seem that burglars and infiltrators throughout the region have lost their wits. There are signs of break-ins across Rharnean territory, in homes, businesses. However, when checking inventory, nothing is unaccounted for. In fact, wrapped gifts and treasures are left for those who dwell in these places, with their name specifically addressed in an attractive card. The card is decorated only by an icon bearing the image of a turtle shell held in an open hand.
8th of Zi'da: The All Tavern's Champion Tournament Cancelled: In the interest of putting focus on the Athletics and Combat competitions in the coming cycles, that will play host to several participating nations, the All-Taverns Tournament has been put on Hiatus until next arc. Until then, people are free to hold their own self-organized tournaments and competitions, and in fact are encouraged. The Lightning Dome is made available for this purpose.
16th of Zi'da: Dice Games at every Tavern: Dice games, sometimes tournaments, othertimes friendly games on the street, begin becoming a fad in the streets of Rharne. Various new games are invented on the spot, and people are given a respite from boredom in the midst of the very chilly weather, driving folks inside. (Open - Unmoderated. Feel free to invent and develop new games for people to play!)
28th of Zi'da: Song Contest: Ilaren is inspired by the newly emerging popularity of singing and musical venues in the city. She commissions a contest to determine who can write the best songs, to be performed by Thunder Priestesses at the Starling Gallery and also the Lightning Dome. There's no restriction on the type of songs to be sung, and all will be well received so long as they are in good taste. (Open - Unmoderated)
32nd of Zi'da: Peaceling Tribute: A new celebration that has emerged in the subsequent years after Mummer's Ball. To celebrate Ziell and his part in creating the Peacelings that defeated the forces of Syroa along side a gathering of powerful mortals at the Mummer's Ball, each family is encouraged to purchase a silver candelabra, which they set as visible just beside their windows at night. As long as these candles are lit on the fixtures of these candleabras from this night, and remain lit without running out of candles, those setting them will suffer no violence at their homes during the entire season. (Open - Unmoderated)
50th – 61st of Zi’da: 12 Trials of Zi'da: This holiday allows Rharnians to show appreciation and gratitude for the people in their lives who have loved and supported them throughout the past arc. Each trial has a specific theme, and those who celebrate the holiday give their loved ones a small gift connected to the theme. Some choose to wrap the gifts, tag them with an identifier to show what date the gift should be opened, and give them to their intended recipients all at once. Other Rharnians choose to give and receive their gifts on a daily basis. During the 12 trials, the Rharne marketplace in the Earth Quarter turns into the “Zi’da Market,” and is filled with food, mulled wine and cider, and vendors peddling wares aligned to the themes.
1. Dust: This gift is often something inexpensive and small. Usually a small bauble of some kind.
2. Past: This gift symbolizes something from the recipient’s past. Often something sentimental or nostalgic.
3. Grey: The gift is something grey. Often cloth or stone.
4. Earth: This gift is usually something taken from the earth. Either something made of stone, clay, or for the more wealthy, marble or porcelain.
5. Present: A gift pertaining to the present, and the relationship between the giver and the recipient.
6. Green: A green gift. Often something simple like flowers or clothing. Some more extravagant gift givers may give jewelry.
7. Glass: The gift of glass is often something made from glass, but it can also be something that is extremely fragile. Vases, jars, and stained glass are all typical gifts.
8. Future: This gift is suppose to symbolize the recipient’s future in the coming arc. Gifts range from work supplies to nels to fare for a boat trip.
9. Purple: This gift is an item that is purple. Often clothing or jewelry, glass or gem, the color of the purple is often the vibrant purple of the city’s flag.
10. Sky: This gift is used to represent the sky. Oftentimes feathers from birds are made into charms, baubles, and jewelry. The wealthier citizens frequently import feathers from other regions, or rare birds - though a creative Rharnian knows that the sky’s the limit.
11. Eternity: This gift is often given by more intimate couple and friends to show the strength of the relationship. It is often something that transcends the need for definition. Those who are more financially driven may decide to drop the deeper meaning and just buy diamonds.
12. Blue: This gift is blue, though like the sky it can range in color from the softest of periwinkles to a vibrant cerulean to the darkest of navies.
71st 73rd of Zi'da - Insomnia Plague: For two nights, the people of Rharne suffer from an inability to find sleep. Sleep aids, chemical and medicines increase in demand during this episode. Scholars try to investigate the phenomenon, but it clears up before their findings product any conclusions. (Open - Unmoderated)
82nd - 89th of Zi'da - Tales of Imagination: A contest for the best stories is held at Tio's Tea House in the Glass Quarter. There are no specifics with regard to the subject matter of the tales to be told or written. But at the end, Tio will be judging them and giving small gifts out to those who impress him. (Open - Unmoderated)
90th of Zi'da - Dreams of War and Fury: Sleepers all across Rharne are pulled into what seem to be the collective dreams of Rharne as a whole, but these dreams are all tied to relatively recent traumas in Rharne's history. The War of Death and Souls, the Siege of Storm's Edge, the attack on the Mummer's Ball, and the attack on the All-Tavern's Tournament. Who pulled people into these dreams? For that matter, why are people there? And why the focus on these past traumas? Perhaps only those pulled into the dream can answer these questions. Moderated Event by Basilisk
