nice to see you!! Did you know, the word "roster" was first used in 1727 and was originally a word in military use? It means "a list showing the turn or rotation of duty or service of those who relieve or succeed one another."? It came from the Dutch word rooster - meaning "table, list." In itself, that was a transferred use (originally "gridiron,") from Middle Dutch roosten "to roast". This probably came from the grid of lines drawn on a paper to make a list. Welcome back!
