26th Trial of Ashan during Arc 721

Whether Chuckles came back or not, Vega had said, was up to Chuckles himself. He certainly knew his own mind. But about the second part of what Doran said, she was very sure. "But I'd love it, if you came by again an' told me how things went. I'll be thinkin' of you an' prayin' for the best outcome." She had no issue with him drawing her blood. She wouldn't enjoy the process, but if it was what he needed, then it was. In terms of her abilities, though, Vega thought about it. "Alright, well, there's options," she said. Then she grinned. "Warnin', there's a lot of words incomin'." Many of which wouldn't have appropriately enunciated endings, she thought.

"So, Xiur has granted me quite a few abilities. I reckon the one that migh' be most useful here is what I call Word of Hope It's the ability Fulcrum of Fervour" She looked at Doran and smiled. "I use a word, one what I've decided, an' it becomes like a bit of a battle cry, but it's a word of hope. It's why I called it 'word of hope', see? Anyhow. That word, it spreads hope. So, maybe that? Also," She frowned slightly. "There's another, an' it's called guidin' lightit's the ability Guiding Stars. What that does is. Well, it's hard to explain but I see the light of the stars, an' I know where I should go. They guide me, safely. We should definitely use that, one, too." She looked at Doran and explained, "I don't need the stars to be out, not any more. I used to. But not now. Now, I can see them, even when they're not there."

Vega thought about it. "The Word of Hope, it lasts a whole trial, an' I can use it once a trial, too. There's another one that's called Star Beam actually called Empowered Sunset an' that's great. I can put starlight into things, an' it heals them or repairs them. An' if they're not broken, I can put an enchantment into things. " Holding up her arm then, on which glowed the bands of Qylios' mark, Vega said "There's a few things what Qylios has gifted me what are right handy an' might work. Hold the Line, it's jus' like word of hope, but it's the words 'hold the line' an' it makes people brave." Thinking about it, she tapped her chest where there was - right at the correct spot in the glowing dragon constellation, a flaming heart. "This is Daia's mark. An' I can sew emotions into things with this. I made Sir Chip a scarf of hope, for example. I can share my emotions because of Ilaren's mark, too, an' when I play the fiddle I can make people hopeful." She smiled.

As for redirecting the lightning, Vega nodded. "We've got those on our ships. Lightnin' rods, an' I can do somethin' similar myself, because of my Ilaren mark. I can control lightnin'." She shrugged slightly. "My Papa is an excellent sailor, an' my cousins too. They'll help." Whether they wanted to, or not.

As for Hope Point, Vega smiled. Doran said it was aptly named and Vega looked - and felt - delighted. "Thanks," she said. "It felt right." Which was, of course, how she did things. When they felt right, she did them. "RIghteo. Lets get started then?"

Just like that.

Vega's skin has a reflective metallic sheen with a red glow. Her eyes still swirl biqaj colours, but one colour is always bright red which glows like fire. She has a bright red glow in her chest, situated directly under the mark of a heart (Daia mark) in the middle of a glowing silver dragon on her chest (Xiur). She's unnaturally warm to the touch

Re: An Unexpected Visitor

When Vega warned him that there would be a lot of words incoming, Doran cocked his head a little to the side for a moment before he smiled very lightly, shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to listen to her. As he did so, it occurred to him that he had never given his own abilities names, not even his Mortalborn abilities that he had had for a long time. The fact that his abilities were gifts from Xiur and Daia, the Immortals that he served nowadays, or his father, had always been enough in his opinion. That was what really mattered.

Now that Vega spoke of a word of hope and a guiding light, he couldn’t help but wonder though. Names did of course make it easier to talk about something, without confusing the one that you were talking to, but besides that, he was curious as to whether his abilities had a true name, created by the ones that granted them. His thoughts about linguistics and onomastics did not last more than a few moments though before he focused on the matter at hand again though, Vega’s abilities and how to ultimately put them into their beacon.

“I think so too”, when she told him that they should definitely use the ability that she called ‘guiding light’. “It will help lead the ship here safely, just as much as the light of the beacon itself. And we could combine it with ‘Word of Hope’ to give the former slaves hope. I think your Star Beam ability will be very useful, in case any of them are wounded”, he added. “We should limit the number of abilities though, at least when it comes to replicating them with alchemy. Enhancing an item can take some time, and I don’t think it would be wise to put too many enhancements into the same item. We could, possibly, try to enhance more than one item though”, he suggested.

Of course, it was entirely possible to imbue an item with multiple effects at the same time – his gambeson was not only fireproof but had protective properties that were not unlike that of proper armor even though it was made of cloth, for example – but in his opinion, caution was advised when dealing with the replication of domain magic as well as blessing abilities. Items created with Blood Magic were, often, more powerful than those that had been created with natural reagents, and the side effects could be much more devastating as a consequence.

“I bear the same mark now”, he remarked with a light smile when Vega tapped her chest where the flaming heart was and briefly put a hand on his own chest. “And I did something similar, just before I left for Scalvoris. I put hope into a piece of cloth. We could both do that once the ship has docked safely and give the former slaves something that will fill them with hope”, he suggested. Of course, his skill with a needle was lacking – it had been a very long time since he had had to mend his own clothes; he paid people to do that for him nowadays – and as a doctor, he focused on something other than giving people stitches, but this was ultimately not about perfection.

This was about spreading hope.

“Perfect”, he remarked when she told him that her Papa and her cousins were sailors as well.

“Let’s get started”, he agreed.

He looked at the cove and the ocean for just a moment longer before he turned around in order to do just that. There was a lot of work to be done, after all.

Loot: A foundation for a plan!

Wealth Points: None
Consequences: As word gets out that Vega has met Xiur, and is seeking to bring about his will, a recent arrival on Faldrass, from outside of Hopetoun, approaches Vega. He asks her, since she spoke with Xiur, if there's any hope for his child, who is terribly ill from pneumonia. If asked where to find this child, he will lead her to an encampment somewhere on the outskirts of Hopetoun's territory.

Renown: 10 as Immortal meetings go, this was fairly hush hush. But still, word gets out that Doran had a conversation with Xiur and Vega.
Loot: None
Injuries/Overstepping: None
Wealth Points: None
Consequences: Given his proximity to the appearance of Xiur, Doran may find himself approached by various supplicants, wishing to garner a bit of Xiur's favor by offering him gifts. These are mostly useless trinkets, such as carved wooden statues and such. But some of them appear well-crafted enough.

Skill Review: All Skills used appropriately to PC's level
Doran: Doran has come a long way from the man who despised Immortals, to one who is devoted to one of the more benign Imms. I'm so glad to have been a part of that journey, for as short a time as I have. I look forward to seeing how Doran and Vega's work unfolds.

Vega: Vega is a delightful personality, and you always bring her personality with unmitigated Veganess. She's a fun character, but at the same time capable of being very serious and giving deep insights. I found it endearing that Vega thought it'd be nice to let Chuckles stretch his legs... someplace safe, and far away from wooden structures. I look forward to her further exploits.
