I suggest a new sub-section for the Create The World Section of ST : Development Resources
This is because I happened to stumble over Demographics Calculator for fantasy worlds.

It's based on real life historical reference points and can be helpful when thinking of things like the size of populations in villages, tows, cities and big cities, the population density in an area, how big the farmlands need to be, a long list of old-times professions and how many there's business for in a city ...

There's text, but at the end also a spreadsheet to click of for those who want to experiment to find out what would be "realistic" numbers.

We could gather this kind of background resources in one place.

I agree! I found this map making resource, and wasn't sure where i could put it on the site for people to use!

Not a bad idea at all, though a subforum might not be necessary. Perhaps just a thread with a link list to submitted resources would be easier to manage and sort so all of them are convenveniently gathered in a single place? I could potentially make one and keep up to date as resources are submitted, though I'll poke the rest of the staff about it first.

EDIT: Have poked, will do a thing later. Hopefully today.
