Lapis reeled back in disgust at the words that came from Rends mouth. The words spit in the face of everything that Rend stood for, and he wasn’t known for his humour ether. The personality didn’t match Rend at all but it did match someone else. Lapis eyes narrowed and his body tensed up in rage but he quickly calmed himself down and played along. If this man was in Rends body it would be foolish to start a fight with him.
“Oh yah gifts..” Lapis smiled briefly before turning away to mask his grimace “Anything for to get you better Friend.”
Lapis’s spear seemed to have disagreed while Lapis wasn’t looking and it didn’t seem to be anywhere in sight. The Mer looked around for another weapon to bash or impale the king, but nothing was suitable. The rocks were too big to bash the Rend imposters head and there didn’t seem to be anything sharp.
Before Lapis could protest his hand was grabbed and pulled through the water towards a temple in the distance. The Dolphin groaned under his breath at first but then he though of the traps that usually guard old temples. Lapis grinned as he thought of the many ways he could bring the imposter to his end. Spikes could come from the sealing, the rooms could crush him or untold creatures could devour him while Lapis made his escape. All Lapis had to do was be careful and this idiot would be out of his life.
As they approached the temple, Lapis couldn’t sense any magic but the ruins were so otherworldly he knew there had to be magic around. Lapis swam in first with an eye out for anything that could be a trap. All there seemed to be was a hallway full of statures but Lapis suspected they weren’t ordinary ones.
“Aren’t these statues beautiful” Lapis slyly remarked “Landspawn are hideous creatures but they can do such lovely things with stone.”
Lapis hoped the Imposter would fall for the bait and get gutted by what ever trap was concealed in the statues.
