After seasons away from Augiery, Liarra had learned how to blend in with the rest of the world. It was fortunate that her eyes possess the color of midnight black, assuring her Naerrik descent was missed by most. Matching her eyes, her wavy hair hangs down until her midback, often pulled back into elaborate braids. Her pale face is mostly decorated with light makeup - black kohl lining her eyes, red paint on her lips. Unsurprisingly, Liarra takes pride in showing off her inborn beauty. She is also often described as having a rather young, innocent-looking face, a complete opposite to who she is. However, the young woman knows how to play her features to an advantage, often portraying herself as a mild, naive girl if she wanted to.
As a warrior since birth, Liarra is gifted with an athletic and lithe body, taut with slender muscles. A proud woman, she will not hesitate to show off her warrior’s grace, her every movement controlled and calculated. The Naer might not be the most intimidating woman physically - especially with her somewhat shorter stature - but she would be more than happy to prove that wrong. She can often be seen clad in tight black leather, accentuating her womanly charms. If one is lucky enough to have the chance to see her bare, he or she will be greeted with the sight of intricate markings allover her body, curling from her spine to the small of her back, trailing down her hips. Still a true Naerrik at heart, Liarra never leaves her home without her two blades strapped to her back, a fair warning for anyone who might want to stir up some trouble.

When she came into this world, Liarra was not alone. Her sister, Diarra, came soon after her. It was a blessing by Audrae for Nara Amaranthine to possess to beautiful daughters. An ambitious and famous Reapon that she was, Nara was driven to make her daughters the best warriors that Augiery had ever seen. The girls were trained to fight the moment they were able to stand. Nara was merciless and ruthless, sometimes exposing the twins to cruel and harsh exercises. It was no surprise that both Liarra and Diarra was covered with various scars since childhood.

Soon, it was clear to everyone that Diarra was gifted with an extraordinary natural talent. Their mother was so, so proud of her, showing the younger girl off every time she had the chance. Liarra would spend hours watching from the stairs when her mother introduced her sister to the important people of the city.

In the middle of the night, the Naer trained and trained and trained. Yet, whatever she did was not enough. She would never be as skilled as Diarra. It was frustrating to see how everyone gushed over her younger sister and Liarra did not hide it well. Diarra was better at everything – even their mother had said it. Noticing her discontent, her sister often offered to train her, but the young woman’s prideful nature simply could not take it. Liarra was harsh to her, but Diarra was eternally patient. It simply infuriated her even more.

Upon her fourteenth birthday, Liarra was gifted a young male slave – a sort of celebration for her readiness to now bear a child. The boy, Kyeran, was only recently taken into the city and only a few years older than her. He was resentful and foul-mouthed, but Liarra was grateful for his company anyway. The twins never really had the chance to make friends between the trainings their mother forced on them. It did not take long until the Naer and her slave developed a strong friendship.

Some years later, Diarra bore a daughter after mating with her slave, Decran. Another reason for mother to be so proud of her. The world went on as usual after that. Liarra was getting tired of envying her sister, knowing that it ruined their relationship. She asked Decran how she could possibly fix this and he invited her to their home one day. The young woman readied herself to make amends, to apologize, but all she found when she opened the door was Decran standing over Diarra’s lifeless body. Without a thought, Liarra rushed to her sister’s side, praying that it was not true. Anger boiling, she picked up the blade beside her body and turned to the slave.

The bastard then cried out for help. Reapons came upon the house swiftly, only to see her holding up a blade and the blood that covered her. Liarra began to explain, but she never had the chance to finish. They attacked and swiftly knocked her out. Once she gained her consciousness, the young Naer tried to tell everyone what had happened.

No one believed her, not even her own mother, who looked at her with hatred. None of her defenses were heard. They all knew how envious she was of Diarra and had decided it was a strong enough motive. In the eyes of the people of the Augiery, the young Naer had killed her own blood and was officially branded as an Eill. Her own mother threw her out of the city and glad to do so. Perhaps she was excited to finally get rid of the disappointing daughter.

Being a Naerrik was all she ever knew, and now she was even lesser than a slave. Liarra broke down from the weight of losing her sister and everything she knew in one unfortunate swoop. She even lost the will to live. If it wasn’t for Kyeran, the young woman would have died. He coaxed her into eating and drinking, talking to her even when she refused to answer. It took some time, but Liarra finally gathered her strength from the fury burning inside of her.

All of this was one man’s fault. Decran Krome. He had planned all this, knowing that Liarra would be blamed. He ruined her life. She had trusted him and as a result, she was exiled from her own home, shunned by her people. With vengeance blooming in her heart, the Naer swore that she would hunt the man down and make him pay for what he had done. A rumor said that he had escaped the city, heading who knows where.

She will drag him back to Augiery, make him confess for his crimes, and gain back her honor. That is a promise.
Image
Pride is one of the defining traits of the Naerrik and it was Liarra’s as well. It was undeniable that the young woman has a certain air of supremacy and confidence about her. All her life she had been taught that she is superior to every other race and she believed it with all her heart. However, years of being an exile and an outsider had taught her to a little bit of humility – or at least how to hide her superiority better. Liarra had been overshadowed by her sister during the entirety of her childhood and she is not eager to be in someone else’s shadow again. It reminds her of her own weaknesses, that she might never be enough. This leads to her drive to want a certain amount of attention – whether using her feminine charms or her skills at fighting.

A knowing smile is often found decorating her face, with a certain smugness to it. She finds conversing with other races rather entertaining and will be quite welcoming, unlike most of her fellow Naers. The words that come out of her mouth, unfortunately, can be cutting and sarcastic if she wanted to – which happens to be most of the time. In spite her initial friendliness, Liarra will make it difficult for anyone to form a tight knit relationship with her. It is impossible for her not to be distrustful, expecting to be betrayed at any time.

Underneath all her bravado, Liarra is what most might consider fragile. She had built all of that to protect herself, knowing that deep inside she was too hopeful. If someone got inside and break her heart, the Naer knows it will shatter her. Even now, the death of her sister is still painful, threatening to rip her apart. On darker days, Liarra has a tendency to look for a fight as a distraction. Even if she does not want to admit it, there is a dark thrill in her heart seeing the fear in another’s, knowing that their life is in her hands.

Fortunately, her anger and need for vengeance often distract her. She can feel it, burning her very core. A small part of her knew that this was bordering on obsession. One day it might consume her, get her killed, even. But Liarra does not care. It is the only thing that keeps her going.

Naer Gift

Each Naer possesses an ability she is allowed to call on once an arc that sends any who are not Audrae's daughters or marked by her into pure darkness for a full trial. They cannot see anything, hear anything, feel anything, smell anything, or taste anything. Their senses are effectively functionless. But using this power takes an immense toll on Naerikk who call upon it-if too many unmarked mortals are within her radius, then she can die. All energy needed to use this gift is drawn from the Naer herself as a price for the power. For a full cycle after she uses the gift, the Naer will only be able to operate at half of her full power. In-character, this means that a Naer who calls on this power will only be able to use her skills at half of their current level. If a Naer has 50 points in a skill, then she will only be able to use that skill up to 25 points.

Audrev

The mark itself is a black star, of about two-inch diameter, which manifests beneath the hair of the blessed's head. Those with blond hair may want to get their hair dyed, to ensure no mark shows through. Baldness can be a real problem, though it is solved easily enough by a wig. Audrae's domains of shadow, secrecy and deception completely favor this attitude of hiding her mark. The fear is for when her blessed's mark and power are revealed! Audrae does not limit her blessings to the Naerikk alone, but it is more difficult for a member of a different race to prove they truly have her interests at heart. (Approved)
Favored
  • Blood Tie (Auto-Location of Augiery)
    • The blessed can always tell in what direction The city of Augiery lies. This does not magically open an easy path, but it does give a boon to ignore the many decoys and avoid the traps that ensnare the unblessed who attempt to locate the hidden city. It can double as a compass of sorts. Can be activated twice per trial.
  • Leading the Blind (Uncanny Concealment)
    • The blessed is able to inflict, upon a single victim, a sense of absolute certainty that some item could only be hidden in one particular place. The victim simply refuses to consider the possibility of it being concealed anywhere else. It lasts as long as the searcher feels the necessity to search, or as many bits (minutes) as the blessed's "Deception" skill point total, whichever comes first. This can be done twice per trial, but not both uses at once, so a pair of guards will still be a problem.
  • Stare Down (Fear Resistance)
    • The blessed is always able to think clearly under extremes of terrifying situations. This does not mean they will never decide to run or hide (or whatever) anyway. But they will have been able to give lucid consideration to other options at the time. This includes the option of acting scared if they think it might give them some edge. This does not protect them from fear inflicted by drugs or arcana, but the impact will be significantly reduced.

Prized Possession - Diarra’s Dao Sword
When the twins were first allowed to hold a honed blade, Nara gifted them matching Dao Swords. Over the years, each of the sword was reworked and perfected every time it broke. Thus, it held sentimental meaning for the two girls. They had even swore that they will always have their matching swords on them no matter what - a promise that they would always protect the other. Unfortunately, fate decreed otherwise. Diarra was murdered using her own blade and the weapon condemned Liarra for a crime she did not commit. Liarra’s own sword was destroyed by Nara, her mother claiming that she did not deserve such a weapon. Just before she was exiled, Kyeran managed to steal the blade and handed it to Liarra. Since then, the Naer had never let the weapon out of her sight.

Appearance
The first thing anyone will notice from Kyeran is his dark, burgundy hair – which kept mostly short. It clearly marks him as an Aukari and is far too distinct for his taste. His eyes are no less captivating, gleaming in the shade of golden amber. Courtesy to his years of training and travel, Kyeran maintains a muscular and lithe form. This and his tall stature makes up an intimidating figure of man. Even his movements are predatory and threatening, warning everyone not to get too close. Under the light of a flickering fire, it is possible to see his Mark of Flames, identifying him as a trained assassin of the Aukarian Occult.
Personality
True to his Aukarian nature, Kyeran is a reserved individual. He prefers to observe people rather than conversing with them. So, it is uncommon to find the young man hovering near Liarra as she interacts with others, while he simply stands and looks stoic. Unwelcoming and cold will be the mildest way of describing the young man.
Liarra is an exception, fortunately. Already very familiar with each other, Kyeran is considerably more open to the Naer who can easily steal a laugh from him. It will then be obvious that the Aukarian is as fiery as the flames resting in his body. He trusts her with his life, which says a lot. Despite Liarra’s annoyance, the Aukarian’s first instinct is to protect her no matter what.
Through his training, the young man have also mastered the art of calm and cautiousness. He rarely lets his emotions cloud over his judgment. This often helps him balance Liarra’s rather impulsive personality making sure she does not get into too much trouble. Unfortunately, since both of them are stubborn, they often argue and bicker.
