Anther's Ettyne
Developed by Doran
The village of Anther’s Ettyne is located approximately four trials south of Viden, and it is one of the largest settlements in the area due to its unique location and the fact that people that are travelling to Viden over land often stop there for the night in order to rest.
The road leading from Anther’s Ettyne to Viden is relatively well-maintained, apart from at the height of winter.
Mountains that protect it from the cold storms that often come from further inland surround the village on three sides while the ocean to the west often brings a bit of warm air. Due to that, the weather conditions in Anther’s Ettyne are pleasant – for a settlement in the extreme far north, at least. Snow still covers the area for most of the arc.
Anther’s Ettyne has approximately 1.500 inhabitants, with most of them being human. There are three inns, one of them a little more expensive, taverns, a school, and a couple of shops, one of which sells travel supplies to the outsiders that show up on a regular basis.
Due to the fact that so many travellers pass through Anther’s Ettyne, the villages are a bit more open-minded than the inhabitants of such small settlements usually tend to be. There are used to all kinds of strange people, and they quite enjoy making money off them.
Apart from the foreigners, the main sources of Anther’s Ettyne are fishing – the ocean provides plenty of fish and mining. There is a small mine in the mountains to the east that provides some of the villagers with jobs. A few of them also work as guides for travellers.
