Born to the Minisink tribe of Mer, the young Mer lived a standard life for a fresh born Mer. Floated about, tried to eat anything that moved and eventually got the chance to pick up a name. Not being the sharpest tool in the shed, the young Mer decided he really liked the concept of Mer. So, he started addressing himself as Mer, the Mer. The name was generally met with confusion but was eventually forgotten about when the young Mer stubbornly refused to address himself any other way.
As Mer grew to physical maturity and with it, a more stable mind, he started training to become a fighter within the tribe. Picking a polearm like many Mer, namely a trident. Mer was quick to realise something throughout his time training. He was terrible at polearms! While some were achieving competency with their weapons, Mer the Mer had to improvise and being the lazy Mer that he was, it was distracting folk. While Mer weren’t the most adept at socialisation, being apart of the fighters of the tribe, there was always room a need for another person shouting orders. Quickly improving his skill as a leader, the young Mer managed to luckily avoid people noticing his completely incompetence with a trident. Being satisfactory enough for the tribe, Mer became apart of the tribe proper.
It was in his time as a useless fighter that Mer began to spend his spare time developing in his drawing skills and general research. He wasn’t an official leader by any stretch of the word, but the Mer was able to help lay out the coloured indicators that helped communication between Mer. He wasn’t a particularly adept researcher, but even just the basics allowed the Mer to stall out of training days by being involved with any researching Mer. This carefree life of stalling out of most responsibility was how Mer lived his life.
As he became older however, Mer eventually felt the need to start improving himself, disgruntled by the new Merlennials that have taken over in many professions. In this newfound old aged annoyance, did Mer begin to do something he’s never tried in his life … being proactive.
