For those studying at the Viden Academy

Stronghold of education and learning, this fortress is in one of the coldest areas of Idalos and home to many knowledge seekers in a variety of disciplines. However, unknown to most, below the city are those who suffer for the sake of science. While all are welcome, not everyone will be treated as they expect.

Tertiary Accommodation

The Tertiary Accommodation
Image
Some students (namely those with careers or family in Viden) they may decide to stay in private accommodation For the vast majority, however, they chose to move into the accommodation offered specifically for those studying for their higher education qualifications. It is by far the cheapest option for most students (price based on quality), as the Academy offers a discount on the average common lodgings which can be found elsewhere. However this varies according to which Institute the student is studying in, or what level of qualification they are trying to attain through the Academy and can be negotiated. For the average full-time student, accommodation remains at 30gn per season, for a total of 60gn each Cycle in which they are actively learning. If a student does not attend their classes in a season, they are required to pay an extra fee of 30gn for that season and vacate by the start of the following season.

The accommodation consists of three buildings, all located on the eastern edge of the city, approximately 15 minutes walk from the main Academy buildings on a good weathered day. Each of the buildings are four stories tall, and have four secure flats on each floor. Each of the flats has a self-contained kitchen and dining space, with a small living room - which is largely made up of study spaces in the same room. The communal areas are furnished in their entirety, supplied for all the needs of the students renting the rooms. The personal bed chambers themselves number 6 for each flat, for a total of 288 rooms on offer each cycle to students. The rooms include one single bed, a chairs, one table, one lockable chest, and a small furnace, as is law in Viden.
