He could hear his destination before he laid an eye on its door. Music, laughter and voices floated through the air to him, along with the smells of fresh bread and whatever they had made for today's meal. Gray looked around, it wasn't his time to this part of the city, but it still set him on guard when he ventured here. Pulling his hood lower on his head, and double checking the shortswords on his waist to be sure they wouldn't stick if he needed them later, Vincent continued down the street and closer to the source of the din.

Coming to a stop in front of a door Gray let out a sigh. This place was always so loud and violent whenever he visited. Was almost more of a nuisance than what he'd come for was worth. As he grabbed the handle and turned, there came the sound of crashing glass and angry shouts from inside. As he opened the door, Gray stepped to the side of the doorway, and trills later a man was tossed unceremoniously into the mud beside him. Looking at the man in the mud before with uninterested eyes, Gray wrote him off as some drunkard who had gotten a bit carried away. There was always a couple, no matter the night. Turning his attention the the man that had helped the drunk on his way out of the door. The man filled most of the doorway, and had a scowl stuck to his face as though that was the only expression he had. Gray didn't recognize him as one of Rufus' usual workers. Must have been a new hire. The man looked gray up and down, before turning and walking back into the building.

Following the man in Gray shut the door behind him as he entered The Blacksmith Arms. The smell of fresh bread, cheap booze, and sweat filled the air. No one would ever mistake The Arms for being a fancy place, but it was always full of life. Something about that made Gray ease a bit, but nothing more than a softening of the eyes as he scanned the room for who he'd come to meet with. After a bit of scanning the room Gray eventually found him, sitting at the bar, watching the place as he sipped on a mug. Without hesitation Gray made his way to the bar, and took a seat next to the man he'd come to talk to, the taverns owner Rufus.

"Ah, Gray good to see you!" The man said as he set his mug down on the bar and gave Gray a grin. "What brings you to my fine establishment, this evening?" Rufus asked, waving his hand to intricate the building.

"Same thing as always Hemlock, information." Gray replied looking out from under his hood. "You told me to give you a few trials to put your ear to the ground, I gave you almost a dozen. Do you have anything for me, or not?"

Rufus' face lost some of its cheer as Vincent spoke."Always so professional Gray, you know they say all work and no play will kill you." Shaking his head as the look on Gray's face didn't change a bit. "I asked around about a group of men coming or going through the gates during the times you asked and no one saw anyone as you describe, as a group or alone. Which means..."

"They left by boat." Gray finished, cutting off the end of Rufus' statement.

The tavern owner glared at Gray for a moment before shaking his head and continuing. "Aye, it means they took a boat, but as I'm sure the city guard would notice five armor men sailing off, I'd say they were smuggled out. So, I asked some acquaintances of a friend of mine, if they knew anyone that may have had dealings with such people, and what do you know, someone had. Plus to top of that sweet bit of information, that ship is currently docked in Cyrene Bay."

At this news Gray sat up straighter. "Well? Out with Hemlock, give me the name of the ship."

Rufus shook his head, and gave Gray a sly smile. "That first bit of information I gave you as an apology for the delay. This however is going to cost you." He replied picking up his mug and downing the last of it in a gulp. "Two gold nel." Rufus finished as he passed the barmaid his empty mug. When he saw the hardness in Gray's eyes he continued. "The price went up because this is not your run of the mill information, this required me to ask specific people, certain questions, and that means if this goes bad it can impact my reputation as an upstanding citizen and the owner of this fine establishment."

Gray ground his teeth, and cursed the man silently but didn't argue with him. It didn't matter what Gray tried to say to make him lower the price. Rufus was the only one with the information he needed, and the tavern owner knew it. Reaching into his cloak he pulled out two gold nel and placed them in Rufus' hand. "If this information doesn't pan out, I'm coming back."

"I'm sure it will, but I look forward to seeing you again Gray. I appreciate your business." With that Rufus leaned in and whispered the name of the ship to Gray. "The Ethereal Lady" The name barely audible to Gray before being swept away by the din of the rest of the patrons. "It'll be docked here for another three trials, before setting sail for another cycle." After that Rufus stood and left Gray sitting at the bar alone.

After a bit had passed Gray ordered a mug of ale for himself, slipping silver nel across the bar as the barmaid slid the mug in front of him. For the next break he sat there among the laughter, music, and voices, nursing his mug while he thought on his next move.

By the time Gray had nursed his mug to the bottom, a break had come and gone. During that time he had thought of how he was going to find this ship, and what he would ask once he had. The number one question was 'where?'. Where had the ship taken the men they had smuggled into and out of the city. With that information Gray could begin his hunt for the group in earnest.

It had been nearly a season and a half since his family had been killed. Since his wounds had healed, and he had begun his search of information, and now he had a lead. So his first priority was to get to Cyrene Bay. From there he would have to find a way of locating the ship, this Ethereal Lady, within the three day window Rufus had spoke about. After that he'd need to find a way to get the information he wanted, and he had a feeling they weren't going to give it to him for a simple please.

With a sigh, Gray decided that it would probably be best to call it a night and head back to his room at the inn. The sooner he woke, the sooner he could begin his hunt.
