My laptop is dying but I wanted to get some color down on this character. I have some things written in notes that will go here later. Curse technology!! (I'm just kidding please spare me robotic overlords)
Just wanna get some brain spit down. This character has been kicking around my head for years, I need to do something with her. I don't wanna type too much as I'm on a phone but I wanna get some thoughts out..
Dula wants to be rich and famous like her father. Through more than a few mishaps she finds her place in Desnind as the "runner" for the Medicine House gathering herbs and other ingredients for their homestyle medicines. By using her knowledge of survival (the only thing she's really good at) she is able to eventually start up a band of misfits that do dungeon crawls maybe once a month in real time.
What is the problem she needs to overcome?
Something about her father's folly. Over coming some debt he either made in the physical or in the mental.
What was her father's life? He was a man from Rharne who moved to Desnind to find his fate-- rags or riches. In Rharne he had been a nobody and couldn't make his way out of the dust quarter, he decided to pack his bags and move to somewhere unknown to him. He found himself in Desnind a poor and scraggly man with no purpose or direction. Through trial and error he became a hunter and quite good at it. He found himself exploring parts of the Makubwa Lori that other's either stayed away from through superstition, which he was impervious too, or the sheer dangerousness of it all. He became known for his quality pelts and rare goods that he found on his travels. When he met Dula's mother, a Sevryn woman, they both took to the trees of the Endless Forest and decided to never come out.
When Dula was born they took years off to raise her, though would still pay the bills with adventuring on occasion
At five years old they left her in the care of her family who lived there and became almost reclusive
Dula looked up to them like shiny gods, they could do no wrong and in her eyes were masterpieces of souls
They had found something special, something amazing, something that wouldn't change the world but would shape the live's of their small family for good
And they disappeared
In the years following Dula lost her spark, she became reclusive and detached deciding to stay around the hunters and learn her parents trade
story about meeting an old man in a grove
wizard man, traveler, archetypal, here in the wilds gathering herbs
they meet for some time and he teaches her the basics of alchemy
prophesied about her finding a map that will lead her to her parents, write this super vague and mysteriously
She begins to tell others about her meetings with this man...
He vanishes without a trace
Once again she is lost without a purpose but soon finds an alchemy set on her doorstep, she is heartened and never forgets him
Tries to be an alchemist and SUCKS BALLS, terrified of burning shit down so must practice far out from Desnind-- isn't very congruent with learning and she gets no where
Dula is faced with the quest of the door. She finds herself amongst friends she hasn't really made yet. In order to get through the maze she has to sacrifice part of herself, the part of her that tells herself not to do somthing. Write her in more of a cowardly way. Find a way to make a coward enriching.
meet Eliza and obtain her debt to Dula
create glitter bombs (5) after harvesting clear and smoky quartz from river with Tristan
meet Coroth and form their tentative friendship
repair things with Hygge, 1 or 2 threads with him teaching her more about attunement and giving her the prophecy to go to Maste's Maze
Trick Eliza into coming to Maste's Maze with her
Whoop ass with Eliza and Coroth in the Maze
Find the key
Eliza repays her debt
Sit on spoils like a fat cat
Wonder about her parents some more with her key in hand, the thot plickens???

"Triggering" reagent used for changing things at will, light a "fuse"/"timer", to basically trigger the alchemy's effect at will. Good for hiding its purpose? Use once per day depending on strength of reagent? Basically an off/on switch

"Accelerator" reagent use for instantaneous effects, aiding in changes happening quickly. Without this some effects could be noticeable (for hiding), necessary when using triggering reagent

bonding ingredients with a "Primer" (used when needing to add to a material) or "Bonding"(two or more different reagents in one) reagent often necessary when there are two or more mixtures being put together
color change while creating (can be magick, such as crush this mixture 26 times and it changes from pink to blue)
Different Ingredients and Effects
powder which blinds the opponent, sparkles and cracks like fireworks
-grind up quartz and glass
-using bonding agent to bind them into one substance; putrid catfish fins
-once bonded it makes a glittery goo which must be dried in the sun. Then added to a clay "bombshell" with a wick
-When ignited it sparkles and cracks, blinding opponent for 5 bits.
potion making opponent sleep, blue with chunks of yellow floating in it
-releases gas upon opening
incense as use against undead
priming fish skin to bandages to make a quick healing wrap
-clear quartz as primer, powdered fine applied to bandages
-skin of fish cut into thin strips
-add strips to the bandage carefully, not overlapping
-bandage morphs into fish skin with texture of cloth
-heals at 1/2 faster rate, doesn't need taken off or cleaned
"liquid fire" created by reigniting ashes in a jar with bonding/primer ingredients
"Abbra" primer ingredient use for low level alchemy to take the effects of a creation and apply it to an item. Can be made into a powder, paste, or liquid with pure spring water
enchanted teeth that attach to the users own
Two or more previously made alchemical mixtures combining to one new creation
"boom powder"
gather trumpet flower and root, dry them for x amount of days, crush into powder, collect clear quartz, grind rose quartz into powder, blend, expose to high heat until color change- from white powder to orange. Needs primer but can be added to instruments or a stick and pointed at throat for voice enhancement or applied to speaker cone for added effect.
conspire to use quartz as primer
agate powder as binder
powdered and distilled then pressed into an oil
iron to make things react
sugar plus an acid to make tower of foam, foam is collected and distilled to make the potion
powdered metal plus other metal shavings=boom, collect the run off from the explosion, or perhaps two dried ingredients react with each other (like roots or bark of such and such tree plus the powder of such and such)
Oscillation of liquid causing color reaction, from yellow to blue to purple to yellow again
create potion that just needs the final ingredient to make it react, like point and shoot "cement"
Distilling is boiling a substance and collecting the vapors to create a refined liquid for reaction ideas

Appearance: Ligeia's bleached hair is always cut into a shaggy bob for the littlest possible upkeep. She is always wearing black, sometimes has her nails painted black, and wears only dark lipsticks. Her eyes are ice blue, as cold looking as she can sometimes be. Her facial expressions usually run from bored to sour, something she doesn't apologize for or try to correct. As well as icy looking eyes, her skin is pale like icecaps. For body type, she is tall and lanky; weighing around 130 lbs and standing at about 5' 6".
Personality: Cold, up for anything, deadpan, flighty/wishy-washy, streetwise, preens often, doesn't apologize for being herself, crabby

As the old librarian is wailing about a couple book shelves that were overturned, Dula is noticing people "pop" in and lay prone on the hardwood floor.
A young woman a few years older than she is shouting in Xanthea, a language she can actually understand, about helping these people.
Startled by the language, she helps out along with Rafe
Dula is given the task of checking over the blonde woman who had taken the least amount of damage to her person

While everyone else is in a craze, daze, or haze Dula and this woman as staring each other down-- as Dula has noticed that the woman is trying to steal books
Obviously she had faked her faulty memory and how she got here
Instead of stealing those books I can tell you what I know (books about Desnind)
The talk about her home, the ins and outs of that, and explain that Dula is falling in her father's footsteps of becoming a treasure hunter
