Re: Prae's Plotnotes
Capstone/T2 Ideas
Endurance
Reduced Recoil - After arcs of fighting with immense strength, Prae's body has grown used to the recoil of impact. No matter how hard he hits something, or how solid the thing he hits is, Prae will never be injured by falling, hitting anything, or being thrown into a solid object. Blunt weapons will still affect him, though their effectiveness is reduced.
Thermal Equilibrium - Between his naturally tough hide, and arcs of exposure, Praetorum's body has grown almost immune to the effect of searing heat and freezing cold. Any temperature that falls short of setting him on fire or freezing him solid will have no effect on him.

Discipline
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken - Prae is able to keep clearheaded in the face of physical discomforts. Pain, starvation, and other such things will register for him, but will not be able to influence his mental state.
Setting Standards - Praetorum excludes an air of determination so strong that with just a few words from him, anyone who considers him on their side and can hear him can act as if their discipline is one level higher.

Intimidation
Terrifying Aura - Praetorum knows sometimes the best defense is to become the biggest target. In combat, Prae can make his presence so loud and terrifying that any enemy in range to attack him will feel extremely uneasy unless they do. Because of this unease, any attack they make against someone other than Prae will be made at one skill level lower. This can be resisted by master discipline, but enemies with master and grandmaster discipline will still feel as though they should fight Prae, even if they incur no penalties for not doing so.
For enemies at long range, this capstone only applies if they notice Prae—someone who is technically in range of Prae but doesn't see him will not be affected by this capstone.

Strength
Constrictor - Praetorum has spent cycles now learning to use his tail to grip and grapple—after all this time, his tail has grown strong enough that if it can wrap around an object, it can exert crushing force on that object, scaling with how many times his tail wraps around the object. One coil is able to break bone, two is able to crush plate armor, three can crumble stone.
Leadership
T2 - Praetorum’s leadership style encourages his followers not only to bring out the best in himself, but in each other too. If any group of his followers (up to four) work together on a task, the task is completed as if all of them have the skill level of the most skilled among them in the main skill(s), to a max of their own highest skill level.
For instance, if a pair were constructing a house, and one had master engineering and the other master animal handling, the quality of the work is as if both had master engineering, as the animal handler supports his companion using beasts of burden or trained animals. If the other person only had expert animal handling, then the construction would go as if one had master and one had expert engineering.

Meditation
Parallel Processing - Praetorum has become so adept at splitting his concentration that he is able to mentally separate into two different versions of himself, allowing his mind to work on two trains of thought at once while sharing knowledge and ideas. While compartmentalizing, Prae is able to push thoughts and emotions to one version or another, or place it in the back of his mind where it can distract neither.
This is a deeper separation than the multitasking a master meditator is normally capable of—mental effects or spells that would normally alter Prae's mind will only alter one version of him, although physical effects with a mind altering aspect (drugs or alcohol) will affect both, as they share the same body.

Polearm
Unarmed, Unharmed - While most polearms are lethal weapons, Praetorum is, at least on occasion, not a lethal fighter. As a result, he has learned how to consistently utilize his weapons, and the leverage his reach and strength gives him, to disarm his opponents, whether by dragging their weapons out of their hands, by targeting his opponent's grip, or even targeting the weapon itself. This technique can, but will not always, break weapons of lower quality than the weapon Prae is using.
The efficacy of this skill scales with the weapon skill of the opponent—against novice and competent weapon users, Prae can choose whether to break the weapon or not; experts can avoid having their weapons broken entirely, while masters will not lose their weapons, but will fumble it instead, and have to take a moment to readjust their grip to use it properly. Grandmasters and above will be able to keep proper hold of their weapon.

Shield
The Best Offense... - For Praetorum, combat is combat, whether he's on the defense or offense. Using his shield to block enemy attacks counts as attacking that enemy for the purpose of any abilities or capstones that key off of Prae attacking someone.
T2
Total Defense - By entirely giving up any offense, Praetorum can use his shield to protect anyone and everything within a 10 ft radius of him. This applies no matter how many attackers he faces, but only works on physical attacks. Praetorum's protection does not in any way prevent the people inside his radius from attacking outwards.
Rebound - Any melee attack that Prae catches on his shield and parries will reflect onto the attacker, while any ranged attack can be reflected onto a nearby enemy. These reflected attacks will deal half the original damage onto its new target. This only works on physical attacks.
Etheric Shielding - By imbuing his shield with ether, Praetorum is able to treat even etherical, ephemeral, ectoplasmic and force based attacks as if they were physical, and block them as such.

Tactics
Capstone
Ease of Use - Praetorum has learned how to develop plans that are easy to execute and explain, even for non tacticians. Any tactical plan that Prae comes up with will be executed exactly as he envisioned them, even if he cannot be there to supervise himself, or if the message needs to be passed on through multiple people, or if there has been a long time delay between the conception and execution of the plan. In other words, other people will not make mistakes while conveying or carrying out Prae's plans.
T2
Plan M - Praetorum has learned to predict the plans of others, and even to expect the unexpected. Twice a season, Praetorum can retroactively have made a contingency plan for the very situation he's in, and reveal its setup in his narration. This contingency plan must make logical sense with the events that have already been shown to have taken place, and cannot use resources that Praetorum could not reasonably have had at the time.

Unarmed
Momentous Strike - Having lived much of his life in heavy plate and a tower shield, Prae understands intuitively how armor and shields disperse blows to protect the user, and how to get around that shock absorption. Praetorum's unarmed attacks can now essentially pass through mundane defenses, the force of his blows transferred completely through the material. An attack caught on a shield will act as though it had been made on the bare hand or arm that shield is worn one, while attacks against armor will strike the body part directly beneath. The shield and armor itself will sustain no damage. This also applies to natural armor; the attack in that case will pass though to the soft tissue beneath. This also means any unarmed capstone can be used on enemies wearing armor, unless otherwise stated
This effect applies to any protective material that touches skin, unless that material is capable of dampening inertia in ways that break conservation of momentum. Essentially, if normal physics applies, so does this capstone.
Pressure Points - Praetorum has grown very experienced in temporarily disabling his opponents: if he is able to strike under the armpit, his attack will cause pain and paralysis in that arm; if he is able to strike them at the knees, they will not be able to put their weight on that joint; if he is able to strike his enemy under the chin, they will be dazed for a time. This leaves no permanent damage, and lasts for a period of time that scales with the enemy's endurance. Those with novice and competent endurance will be disabled for several breaks, experts for several bits, masters for several trills (approximately one round of posts). Grandmasters and above will be able to avoid these effects entirely, though the blow will still land as normal.
