The Slimy hound
Perhaps one of the more Unique hole in the wall establishments in Yaralon the Slimy hound is a very niche speakeasy that caters to one of the more unique pastimes in Yaralon.
Hidden against the wall about a half our walk away from the gold gate there is a beaten down door with a sign over it naming the place the Slimy hound. Upon entering you’ll find youself stepping onto a dark and narrow corridor often slightly flooded and never well lit. until you step up onto a stone landing. Where you will once more be faced with a door. This one however is of a much nicer quality than the previous and is emblazoned in bronze with the lettering to once spell out. The slimy hound. Walking inside for the first time one will almost always be greeted by the sounds of laughter and yells and people placing bets and so on, the smells of sweat good food and good booze will assail you but oddly enough nobody will great you except for whoever is manning the bar.
At the bar you’ll be asked if you are ready for your first match. IF you say no the bartender will shrug and proceed to ignore you similarly to everyone else in the establishment. You won’t be asked to leave or forced to participate but you will not be served or noticed either.
Looking on one will find a large board with a set of rules on it.
1 duels in the slimy hound should be sanctioned matches. Don't complain about getting thumped if you fail to do this.
2 No intentional killing in the slimy hound even during a duel, if you must kill your opponent take it outside, this means you (A series of sloppily written down names and insults follow this line)
3 All bets are final, if you are unable to pay your bet you must participate in matches until such a time as you have won back your loss.
4 if the participants of a match cannot come to an agreement on what type of match they will be having it will be left for the crowd to decide.
5 do not take notice of those who have never participated in a match doing so will give you the same status as though you two had never been in one.
With that in mind looking past the sign one will see a large nearly perfectly round pit like a bowl made of some odd black material in the middle of everything. Filled with the liquid of the day, coming in a variety of colors. Within said bowl one will almost always find two individuals grappling as onlookers cheer and jeer for a winner. Those within the Slimy hound are surprisingly varied and from all walks of life. Often a bard or some other form of musician presides over the pit. It is for the most part a rather tame environment when compared to other known fight clubs like the chop shop or Guts and glory. As if those that participate in this deviant system of dueling have something akin to a superiority complex.
