Tree Talk Xanthean Common
Oonah was only partially tuned into Faith and Qit's conversation although she did pay more rapt attention when Faith talked about her mark from Famula. An ability to call someone to come would be a very helpful blessing. A lovely one that got Oonah off the hook for the only thing she worried she could not do well for Qit, get Caza'Ria back to Faith. She considered Faith's insight about magic. It changed one's soul? She had a lot to think on with what Faith had said about Mantis, whom it seemed were not strong because of how wrong they were? Wrong in every meaning? Oonah was often wrong in meanings but she didn't think that was what Faith meant this time. So it seemed that these Manitis were bad because the magic made them so. If they were not strong then could they not be easily beaten? Yet a strong person could not turn bad?
Still she was concerned because there was no doubt that the huntress was strong, probably the strongest person Oonah knew, but she seemed to have an awful lot of magic stuff going on. Trust was one thing but what if that person who was trusted couldn't help themselves no matter how strong they seemed to be? Maybe it was more a matter of faith than trust? To the Tunawa healer it was all the more reason to be near, if only so that trusted, magically-afflicted person didn't have to go through all of that alone.
She must have been on the right track with her thoughts though because Faith's explanation of friendship seemed to fall right in line. Keeping Qit company or even Faith, who was becoming Oonah's friend too, meant doing her best by them. But what did best mean to her and would that be the same to Qit? Oonah's head began to ache trying to figure the ins and outs of it all but found relief as Qit interjected that laughter worked for her. It was a good start anyway. "These things sense makes and nothing I would not do for already my friends. Yet think I will on ways more to be best and will try to laugh gooder too." For as wrong as being weak could be because of magic and as strong as laughter might help, it seemed too easy; and That Oonah did not trust.
Qit's unexpected snack diverted all of her thoughts as she realized it had been awhile since she'd eaten too. A small greenish vine slipped from between her lips to lick them across as she looked about Faith's home for the hint of a fly or spider or something, but there wasn't even a cobweb to be seen. "After the bonding, have any fruits, flowers or bugs to eat?" Maybe she'd have to take a stroll through the yard before 'bath' and 'bed' whatever those meant.
