Weather
Vhalar (123)

1-21

In the beginning of Vhalar, the heat is still strong. The second sun starts receding and with it the heat as well.

22-36

First whispers of clouds appear on the sky and bring some relief with them. Farmers find it easier to harvest during the harvest.

37-55

At last, the heat has ceased and it becomes bearable to stay outdoors. Small local festivals are underway and citizens are enjoying the last remnants of hot cycle.

56-68

From the north, pregnant clouds roll in, obscuring the sun for the first time. Temperature drops and wind picks up.

69-80

ϟ
Chill rain starts falling mainly at night and morning breaks. It is time to take out scarves and warmer clothes. Farmers rush to finish last harvests

81-99

Rain clears and occasionally sun makes appearance. Weak in its heat, it is clear that Zi’da will be upon Ne’haer soon. Mists appears in morning and lazily rolls in the streets.

100-111

Despite the weather being sunny, temperatures have drastically dropped.

12-123

First frost is setting in. Grass gets covered in hoarfrost, cold bites cheeks and anything else exposed to it. Towards the end of the season, first snow starts falling.
Zi'da (93)

1-7

Hale/snow storm - As the end of Vhalar saw first snow, Zi’da attacked with harsh snow and hail storms. 5th and 6th trial witness non-stop antics of the weather, with hail stones as large as a small egg. Citizens are advised to not leave their housing and to board up the windows to prevent damage.

8-25

As the mixed storm calms down, clouds remain in the sky. Streets are covered in snowdrifts.

26-37

The skies clear, but temperature does not improve. Anyone living on the streets is urged to seek shelter. Some believe this will be the harshest Zi’da ever witnessed with temperatures dropping by the day.

38-50

Overnight of 38th trial, light snow descended upon Ne’haer. Unlike the storm in the beginning of the season, this is gentler and kinder. It almost looks like baker’s fine sugar sprinkled over the city.

51-64

With the thin layer of snow, clouds obstruct the sky and wind begins to pick up. On the horizon, dark frontier begins to form. Folks forecast another storm coming their way.

65-79

Light hail storms hit the city during the trials. They are not as powerful as their sibling in the beginning of the seasons, but the accompanying wind makes it bite the bones. When everyone starts believing the worst has past, the winds picks up and howls through the streets.

80-93

As if with last resolution, Zi’da hits Ne’haer with last powerful blizzards. It dangerous to walk outside during those blizzards due to the extremely strong winds and low visibility. Some damages to old houses can be observed. The only periods of calm seem to be irregular, by they happen on occasion.
Unusual Phenomenon

Vhalar Stellar Events

20th Vhalar - First Dusk - Takes place at Eastern temple as citizens can witness the first clear and bright stars marking the sky after countless trials of daylight. It take place at the Dawn Gazing site of the temple and is accompanied by light music and refreshments.

115th - 123rd Vhalar - Zi’da’s promise - In the dropping temperatures and if weather allows, citizens can look up to the sky for a star with magnificent tail travelling across the night arc. It is said to be the promise of Zi’da of the cold it will bring. Apparently, the longer the tail, the harsher the temperatures.

Zi'da Stellar Events

Around 46th Zi’da - Starless - On this night, stars disappear from the sky. Darkness descends on the arc and many believe that Xiur is taking a rest once in an arc from keeping the million lights on. It is a fearful night, however. For many believe that during this Starless night, the worst thing can happen for no one is watched over by the Immortal. Hence, there is less of a public observation of this phenomenon and more of a scientific research into it. Common folks stay home with candles lit throughout the night.

Other Phenomenon

Cold Cycle
All throughout Vhalar small items still keep coming up lost and found, as well as children raving that they're seeing the mythical Tokon. However adults still remain skeptical of them, considering it to be just misjudgement on where they left the belongings. Once Zi'da hits however the phenomenon ceases as the cold settles in.

At midday vows are then exchanged between the betrothed publicly, as a feast to celebrate follows later while newlyweds consummate their marriages. This isn't required for those who wish to marry in privacy of course, those who would seek quieter ways of tying the knot can gather at the temple and exchange vows there instead.

The Territories

Ne'haer

Image
Wealth: Improving - Trade negotiations with Etzos, are reaching final stages and could secure the long needed stability as well as healthy economy. With the cold cycle, the Council announces several development project to be started the following cycle and encourages citizens of skills to file their suggestions and apply for positions in project planning.
Military: Spread Thin - Much of the Blades still remain spread thin as recruit numbers have been dismal lately. The resources at the Council's disposal remain far too limited to continue watch in some of the surrounding territories. An open call for more recruits was announced in hopes it will draw in those in dire need looking for shelter that the Council could train for Blades in return for roof over their head and food in their stomach. The Council may consider reaching out to Hyran for support. The Faith took the opportunity and established its own military force, the Templars, which is patrolling the grounds of the temples.
Allies: Treth, Millstone
Enemies: Bayward, Lysoria, Ironridge
Conflicts: Ne'haer is on the verge of instating The Coalition, an act that's meant to instill peace and prosperity between the territories. Naturally they are obliged to either accept or refuse the terms, which only means yet another power struggle in choosing sides for the territories. At the same time The Faithful continue to act out against The Coalition, and take matters into their own hands in regards to the people of Ne'haer and their safety. Negotiations for The Coalition proceed and the Council is hoping to gather representatives from all surrounding territories for discussion panel on terms of the treaty.

Ironridge

Image
Wealth: Stunted - After the decline of its wealth, Ironridge has found its own economy stunted, and taxes have been slightly raised to try and bolster an economic recovery. Raised taxes have provided a small relief to their situatiom and the search for new allies continues beyond the northern borders. Their aim to conquest Ne'haer is undying even in the face of adversity.
Military: Strong - Many of the soldiers and recruits for Ironridge at this point have undergone rigorous training, many within the ranks are eager to lay waste to those that stand in their way. Ne'haer would be at major risk if not for the vast amounts of land between it and Ironridge.
Allies: Lysoria, Hyran
Enemies: Ne'haer, Yurrova
Conflicts: As taxes were increased to attempt economic recovery, Ironridge continues to decline The Coalition offer. Its denizens are far to set in mind to deter from war. However, their resources remain far too limited to proceed with the advance. Ironridge reaches out to Hyran and Lysoria in call for support, hoping one of its allies will come forth.

Lysoria

Image
Wealth: Wealthy - Naturally Lysoria continues to sit on a mountain of nel because of its affiliations and location. Merchants are finding their businesses thriving and many more keep appearing. The competition rises and it is rumoured that a price war might break out if this situation continues. In spite of that, the economy appears to continuously thrive. Negotiable terms of trade with Hyran continue this season as well.
Military: Average - The military of Lysoria still remains modest at best with a number of mages at their disposal. The Circle of Mages have decreed their role supportive at best. Few dare challenge the might of Lysoria's mages of course, as their numbers are slowly building thanks to the influence of The Circle. However, feeling the sentiment coming from Ne'haer, some say that Lysoria may consider a drive for recruitment.
Allies: Ironridge, Hyran
Enemies: Ne'haer, Cycres
Conflicts: Lysoria remains an adversary to many Ne'haeran's. Its dislike towards the blacklisting grows stronger and in the face of the past wrong the promise of peace to them seems like a sick joke. This creates more backlash and tension between Ne'haer and Lysoria, as The Circle confirms that they would rather defy Ne'haer and their welcomed 'mage hunters' from Hiladreth.

Yurrova

Image
Wealth: Stunted - Yurrova's recovery from famine and riots has been painstakingly slow. Supply ships from allies that come less often than needed. After the protest in front of House Renner last season, Yurrova is uncertain who to reach out to Ne'haer and Millstone, or Lysoria. Yurrova fears that if more supplies do not arrive on time before Zi'da, the season will have devastating effects on the territory. The economy is still a long ways from truly recovering after so much loss.
Military: Borrowed - The Blades are still in occupation here but not in full force. After word reached Yurrova last cycle that more reinforcements may come, it is clear that none have been dispatched yet. However, the current force in place seems to hold fragile peace.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone
Enemies: Ironridge
Conflicts: Starvation is less of a dilemma but still prevalent among many of the citizens. The Coalition offers more than just peace but many of the citizens already deem it pointless to trust Ne'haer. However, it seems that regardless of where the people stand in their beliefs and despiten the protests last season, Yurrova's leadership still believes that the Coalition may be the only way for the territory to survive and thrive again.

Hyran

Image
Wealth: Promising - While stable at best, Hyran turns more of its attention to Lysoria for trade negotiations. This in turn concerns Ne'haer in face of the countless trade offers last cycle as well as the peace treaty signed between the two regions. The economy looks to improve from these negotiations. House Marthel continues to maintain neutrality with regards to The Coalition but word has it that if leadership not strong enough, it may fall under Lysorian influence.
Military: Well Armed - Hyran has maintained a military force for many arcs now, even after signing Ne’haer’s peace treaty. The town takes pride in ensuring each citizens spend at least one arc in military service before going out into the world. Due to this, Hyran always has a well armed and prepared military on standby, should anything go astray.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone, Lysoria
Enemies: Cycres
Conflicts: The bandit problems continue to ail the region and relationship continues to with Cycres deteriorate. On top of that Ironridge pushes its demands for allegiance from Hyran after finding out about its trade negotiations with Lysoria. It is time for Hyran to choose the side it will stand on and whether it will accept the terms of The Coalition, or align with the opposition.

Bayward

Image
Wealth: Wealthy - The black market is a profitable business and ever thriving within the borders of Bayward. Most of their gold is either stolen or made off of traded stolen goods and slaves. The town of Bayward also sees its fair share of mercenaries looking for under-the-table business deals and contracts. As long as there’s illegal money to be had, Bayward will almost always profit.
Military: Well Armed - Bayward is occupied by a large pirate crew. Though they rarely expect any rules to be followed except the ones they make, they follow harsh law when it comes to ‘The Code’ being broken.
Allies: None
Enemies: Everyone
Conflicts: Dragoon is now believed to have fallen ill with an ailment unknown to the public. He still manages to reign in supply ships for the cold cycle to stock up. However, with the weakend alpha on the peak of the pyramid, Bayward is not only becoming more rebellious and chaotic locale, there also seem to be a few individual gunning for Dragoon's position. Private agents of Ne'haer have evacuated the region.

Cycres

Image
Wealth: Poor - Due to the consistent bandit activity in and around the area, stability is low and the populace is poor. This lack of stability impacts the economy and leads to a variety of further problems and poor health. At this stage, it is feared that if bandits are not stopped, they will overtake the region in a matter of a few seasons and turn it into complete anarchy. With last spur of hope, Cycres reaches out to other regions for help, aside from its enemies.
Military: Poor - The instability in the area impacts the military presence significantly. Those citizens who work as militia often do so in order to provide for themselves and / or their family and corruption is higher than in any other area. Resources are low and therefore, Cycres is insecure and poorly defended. This, of course, makes it easy pickings for the bandit and thus, the cycle of poverty continues.
Allies:
Enemies: Lysoria, Hyran and Treth
Conflicts: Cycres has had it with its isolation. They are starting to show tendency towards The Coalition however small. They are far from trusting the notion but the strain and hardships are reaching dangerous levels even for this region. Word is the mayor/representative there is making deals with unknown sources, though what these deals are remain a bigger mystery.

Millstone

Image
Wealth: Thriving - Millstone is made up of several Noble families who contribute to the care and refinement of the town. It is well secured, well guarded, and beautifully crafted with a number of shops and locations for trading purposes. Millstone sits on the Anari River, which helps trade vessels go to in from as they please. Millstone attempts to stay neutral from other territories in the region and handles most of its trade beyond the borders of the West.
Military: Average - Each family residing in Millstone is requested to offer up a small portion of their family’s military for the safety of the town. Such forces are gathered under Millstone’s banner instead of their separate houses, and are treated with the utmost respect. They are well equipped with durable items and sharpened swords, making Millstone a particularly difficult place to overrun.
Allies: Ne'haer, Treth, Yurrova, Hyran
Enemies:
Conflicts: The election concluded last season and with the new leader, a declaration is expected to give Millstone clarity whether they will accept or refuse The Coalition sent by Ne'haer. So far, the newly elected representative remains quiet about their stance.

Treth

Image
Wealth: Thriving - Treth generates nel by the grains, meats, herbs, vegetables, and other food items it exports to Ne’haer. Farmers are given fair wage by the city in return for the bundles of food they produce and this cycle looks very promising in terms of harvest. Ne’haer is even more lenient on supplying Treth and other farmers with loans if the nel helps expand their overall crop production. Thus, the small village of Treth is thriving and while there aren’t too many shops to be found here, there are rarely any poor or homeless villagers to be found here.
Military: Average / Borrowed - Treth is a small village that doesn’t have its own military, therefore, it must be provided to them from Ne’haer. Being one of the city’s main food hubs, Ne’haer sends Treth a surplus of guardsmen to ensure Bandits from Cycres and Pirates from Bayward do not stumble into the village and wreak havoc on the citizens there.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone
Enemies: Bayward, Cycres
Conflicts: Treth receives fresh demands from Ne'haer for increased food supply in the face of rich harvest. Farmers may need to stretch their rations out. Many are beginning to voice displeasure at the constant demands Ne'haer is making and the promises it struggles to keep.

I shall give you hunger, and pain, and sleepless nights. Also beauty, and satisfactions known to few, and glimpses of the heavenly life. None of these you shall have continually, and of their coming and going you shall not be foretold. ~ Howard Lindsay
