I'm going to be a day late posting to the ball and related spin off threads. This is because I'm hatching a plan following some quite unexpected behaviour in one of the spin offs and I need to clarify it with my fellow Ryn mods. If it happens, it will impact the main thread, so I need to just make sure I'm doing it right.

In case anyone happened to read my latest post in the Midwinter Ball thread in the past half hour or so, something went wrong when I copy and pasted my text from my text editor and so only a fragment of the post was up for about half an hour. Just to say, I'm not ignoring the Ball - we are just hashing out a few details in the Ryn mod chat and then I will be on it. I'm keeping an eye on the spin off threads, and just to reiterate please do not take them past four rounds of posting in your spin off thread~ that has become much more important

Announcement: All Players, Please!

Hi All

To put this as clearly as I can.

If you are planning / plotting something which is going to have a major impact on an area / region / family / anything outside of your pc & their npcs, then we need you to run it past the city mods first.

Please be clear, we want to say yes to your fabulous stories. But the simple fact is there are many players in Rynmere, all of whom have plots. As a player, even if you've read every bit of lore and every ooc post, you haven't got some of the "behind the scenes" information that Whisper, Munchkin and I have.

I don't like having to put up posts that say that we've got to put a "freeze" on this or that, that something isn't able to happen. However, I will do so without hesitation because we have to consider all pcs.

I understand that you all have stories you want to tell ~ I really do, and I'm excited to help you tell them. But these must not be hidden if they have the potential of impacting other players. Please do understand that, at that point, if we have to we will be saying no most resoundingly. By not talking to us, you take away our option of helping you work out something where everyone is ok.

So: to be clear:

1. If you are planning on doing something that will impact other pcs ~ please speak to us. This is especially true for people who have "meta" plans which impacts whole areas or noble pcs.

2. Just in case it wasn't clear before - but I believe it was - Dukes & Duchesses are prophet only npcs. They aren't to be NPCd by anyone else - no exceptions.

3. As point 2 above with Baron(ess) NPCs - if they are your parents / aunt etc - then you may npc them in that role only. No other ~ no political decisions which impact noble families without mine or Whisper or Munchkin's say so.

4. Noble house resources are controlled by the Duke / Duchess. Not anyone else. See point 2 re: prophet control.

Whisper, Munchkin and I are working really hard to make this place interesting and fun for everyone. We need these rules (which have always been in place) to be adhered to. No, we will not make an exception.

Thank you for making this clear Pegasus. I think it is good that this has been put out there so we can all see and follow these rules that are crucial to the workings of the region. I am happy to abide by these rules and will refer back to them whenever making any big plans for Xander.

I too want to see Rynmere stay a fun and interesting place. These rules and idea for making Rynmere so are great and I will make sure that they are followed and will try to make sure other in the future know about them if they don't.

I am giving this my full support and am hoping that other players will also do so. Some say bad communication had brought down more than one great empire I hope that Rynmere does not follow suit there and that we can all communicate well and make it a happy and enjoyable safe environment for us all.

Just to reinforce what Pegasus said, we need to adhere to these rules - all of us. No exceptions can, will or shall be made when it comes to this. We are trying to encourage you to tell your amazing stories, sincerely, but there are situations that can't be managed by players alone as they have a huge impact on the work that Pegasus, Whisper and I do. Therefore, it's important that everyone takes what we say here as it comes. We don't do this because we enjoy it, we do it because we have to.

Thanks for understanding all, and please know that we will continue to provide as many fun and exciting plots as we can.

Announcement: All Players, Please!

Just responding here to indicate my support of Pegasus' words. We do our best to keep up with what's going on but, with so many of you, it is nigh on impossible for us to know everything that is happening in each of your threads and manage other places etc. We are not infallible and we are certainly not omniscient. This is why we require your help. In some (very, very minor) cases, a heads up will do. In others, you should definitely be asking for our permission and keeping us in the loop at all times.

All staff here try to be as relaxed as possible when it comes to you guys creating the plot you want. But, after the sheer amount of hours we have thrown into this site, it goes without saying that we have our own dreams about what we want to see happen. It is not fair on us, or other players, to be written into a corner by the selfish few who take the Lore for granted.

If this continues, we have no problems whatsoever with slapping Interventions on every single offending thread. You will be asked to re-write or even retcon the entire thing. No one wants their effort to go to waste, so please check with us first if you think your idea could impact the Kingdom as a whole.

Hey, I just wanna say - totally agree with this announcement, though I will acknowledge sometimes it's difficult to know the boundaries when playing a noble! So, I'd recommend to anyone playing noble PCs that they ask a mod if what they're doing is okay if they think it's too far, or even just another player (if it's minor) who's been playing in the nobility for a long time -- we can help you, give you guidance, most of us should know by now what's generally okay, and none of us will bite.
