Jon truly was a madman. Best out of three, he offered. Alistair was legitimately convinced, by this point in their relationship, that he was deeply suicidal. Perhaps he loathed life, or, was searching for a climactic way in which to die. He was older than Alistair, so perhaps he felt he had enough time to live. Either way, the mage could only roll his eyes as he questioned whether they could continue.
He had no idea how, but, Jon wasn't yet panting and wheezing on the ground... with all of his muscles burning and contracting... but he would be. Alistair was exceptional where endurance was regarded, and according to his past experiences he could sprint, train and fight for whole trials before the body truly began to grow suffering and wary. Jon, was not quite so considerable in his physical capability, though the strenuous exercise they'd just endured would certainly dent that.
They would need to engage in many more, over time. This was only the beginning, though in truth, it had been immensely satisfying. It was sad to move on from their rooftop endeavor, as scary as it had been at certain points. He was only glad that he could still muster Bonecraft to restore his sprained ankles, though he was disappointed in himself for even spraining them in the first place.
Alistair closed his eyes, and looked within. Focusing, he began to alter more of his bones, solidifying additional joints and reinforcing other portions of his body to minute levels; the bones around joints, or vulnerable ones, or the ones that typically seemed to get damaged the most often per his style. This would do well for him in athletics, for the next many trials... he needed to remember to reinforce his bones often. For now, this ability had a particular reason.
He was going to help mend Jon, but after that, he wanted to spar. Teach him endurance by forcing him to fight even as his body burns and he lays out of breath. Alistair had been a kind teacher, forgiving, but to act as such was not to enforce progress.
"Jonathan," he called out to his apprentice, smiling faintly at the ivory leaves as he stood over him. "Let's get some rest. Then, in the morning, we can do more. You'll still be aching a lot, but that's fine. I want to increase your endurance - it might help with the ether addiction, once that comes."
