They hadn’t intended to start such an uproar with their attempt at skirting past Volker. The way the man had gotten riled up was not what the mixed blood had expected. They had thought him quite level-headed, but perhaps they were wrong. Or there was an ulterior motive to his small outburst. They could not be sure of which was the case, but at any rate, he had disrupted the meeting. The intensity of the situation was something they were beginning to blame on themselves and the very act of speaking up on a matter of political direction when it wasn’t truly their place to. The mixed blood would not view their station as being inherently political. No; all they did was mind the birds and the trees, the complaints of Scalvorans about anything they deemed fell in line with their duties. Dealing with possible wars and peaceful negotiations were better suited to Kura’s position on the council, even this verbal scuffle.

They slouched further in their seat, hoping to minimize their presence in the hall. A feat that likely couldn’t be done at this point, but it was always good to try. There was, quite frankly, a lot happening at once as yet another outburst was made. This time it was Lavana, intent on taking control of the male Elements. Amaris would never understand the movements of the militant, but this didn’t seem like it boded well. Faith and Padriag had already defended them from one unruly spectator and now there was another to deal with. Or - was dealt with swiftly enough. Bug-eyed, the mixed blood watched as Lavana was escorted out. They had already experienced part of her rather enthusiastic nature, and while it wasn’t complete surprise, it was still partly one. If anything, they had to wonder about the reception of the outburst. Were there not better ways to lead the woman out of the room? As much as one might say she had disrespected the elements, Amaris found that Lavana would still be allowed some sort of respect in being lead out. She hadn’t a chance to fight back, and perhaps she might not have if given the chance. But, they kept quiet.

Meeting disrupted and the rumble of chatter from the less inclined to surge forth with their complaints, Amaris scanned the councilors and audience around the room. It took a moment before it was quiet again and order returned. They pursed their lips, watching the remainder of the room. They wanted this to be over now. They could plan things separately with Padraig at a later date, but they couldn’t speak up to inquire if they were perhaps done. Fidgeting in their seat, they returned their gaze to the table and remained silent.

Kura remained silent as Volker made his protest about the Viden group, letting Faith and Padraig reply to that, though she did lean forward when Lavana made her protest and raised her hand when the guards started to escort her out. "Lavana, you have much yet to learn about politics. The actions you propose would dramatically worsen the situation with Rynmere, which is what I'm going there to avoid. In addition, yes, they will recognize the Council of Scalvoris if they have any sense." she said, before nodding at the guards. "Go and rest." she said, her tone disheartened. She felt that Lavana was pissy over not having gotten Krorros while Kura had, but that was not her decision to make or question.

After Lavana had been taken out, she looked at Volker. "As for you sir, I would advise you remember your own manners so as not to approach the council table without invitation. It is quite uncouth. In addition, our relations with Viden are on good terms for the time being. Sending mercenaries there is not only not needed, it is foolish. Now, kindly sit back down." she said, nodding at the public seating area. There were traditions regarding the open council meetings, and this fellow was being remarkably rude.

Looking back at the council, she specifically addressed Rand. "If the Scalv Sohr Kahl can make the trip to Rynmere, I'd prefer them for the delegation mounts, for the sake of speed. Gettin' there and back in a hurry can only benefit us in this situation. That being said, neither myself nor my sister know how to properly ride or care for such an animal, or indeed any flyin' mount, so we'll need proper handlers as well. If they're soldiers, they can act as the minimum honor guard we'll need for ceremonial purposes. Two, three if we need a pack mount, will be perfectly sufficient on that front." she said, before looking over at Sidhe'nn.

"I don't know if Rynmere will be providing room and board, so we'll need fundin' for that. If Rand, or whoever he assigns as mount handlers, can provide me a list of what the animals need, I'll add a bit to the list for people. If we don't use the full fundin' you provide, I'll return it to the treasury when we return. I'm not exactly lookin' for trinkets to buy, after all." she said, smiling slightly.

They had a long arc ahead of them? Never was there a truer word spoken. However, she didn't like what had happened with Lavana. Yes, the woman had stood and shouted and there was little choice, but she could have been escorted out with more dignity. Surely? Still, it was done and Faith looked at those present, specifically Padraig and to him she gave a slight smile. It was going to be a long few trials, she knew that. But the help was needed and she had the skillset to put to use, she believed.

Kura spoke and she was clear and precise, in full-on politician mode and Faith felt a swell of pride. This woman was her friend, her very good friend and Faith was incredibly proud to call herself that. Listening to her talk, Faith realised that she was proud to be Kura's friend, not because Kura was Karem's daughter, not because of anything like that. But because she was a strong, determined, stubborn and entirely herself. As Faith had told Karem, she was honored to meet her, not because she was an Immortal, but because she was Kura's mother.

"I would request that the Council put out a plea to all those groups and organizations in their remit," she said. "Any and every resource, from people to blankets. We're going to need them. And those people here watching. Please, volunteer to help. Tell your friends to, also. Donate money, time or items." She hoped and believed they would. They had to.

So, Padraig was going to Viden. That was fine, it wasn't far and they could keep in contact. It wasn't like the expedition later this season where they'd be out of contact. He'd go with Amaris and not the man who talked so much he couldn't listen yet was convinced he was right and knew better than anyone else. Amaris and Padraig made a good pairing and Faith hoped that they would sort things out over there. Padraig and Yvithia had a good relationship; she'd attended one of his classes, after all. But this situation with Rynmere was delicate and political. Not her forte. But saving people? Helping them and feeding them, providing medical care and relief? That, she could do.

So, with nothing more to say, Faith lapsed into silence and waited for the meeting to end so she could get started.

Councilor Francis nodded at Faith's request that each member of the council reach out to the groups within their purview for donations. That was just good business. Cheap advertisement for her businesses, and of those she supported. Goods always sold better when people thought the merchant was benevolent and charitable. Uncontrolled greed was counterproductive in the Merchant Councilor's eyes. Moderation in all things, her silent motto. Faith would find many businesses scrambling over one another to help out with this. And Councilor Francis' coffers would grow.

Albarech spoke one last time, "I shall do so, Councilor Faith, and I have no doubts everyone here will do all that they can to aid you. Thank you all for your efforts, and I hope we will see our goals here reached." Looking at the meager audience now, "And thank you all for being patient with this council. We will make this right."

With an open handed slap against the table, Albarech signaled that the meeting was finished. He stood up, and left, though not to go out to the streets. Rather, he turned to his office, sat down at his desk, and immediately set to work. The man began drafting up letter after letter, and a handful of other councilors followed his example. Rand and Thorst Fall sat in his office, the man looking weary as he wrote, and Thorst scrutinizing his every action with her hawk like gaze.

Leshli stayed around so long as a councilor was in the building. She returned people's coats, answered their questions, added new items to the next meeting's agenda per request, and showed people out. She brought them tea, coffee, snacks, supplies, filed paperwork, readied letters for delivery, whatever it was they needed. One point during the night, her baby woke, crying from its basket she kept on her receptionist desk. She picked him up, carrying about while she continued to work alongside the councilors that chose to stay. Everyone there knew of how her baby had been one of the survivors recovered in the rubble. But less known was that her husband Orrick was connected to the entire conspiracy, having been there before worming his way out. The poor woman was under the impression that he was still buried out there, and that the dock workers and others were toiling away trying to find him. Once she was done here, she would be back to the docks, to try to find the man she loved. There'd be little sleep for Leshlie this night, for any Scalv this night.
