Madame Teviot's Skins & Furs
(for all occasions)
(for all occasions)

A family-owned business, the Teviot family are by far the most successful and well known of the merchant class in the city. Residents and visitors to the arctic city of Viden cannot deny there is a flip-side to its beauty and wealth of knowledge. The cold here rarely sees temperatures rise much farther than 5 degrees and, when coupled with harsh winds, the elements can be deadly. Warm clothing and blankets will not be sufficient to survive even in the summer months in Viden, but they are undoubtedly necessary. That is why, situated almost in the centre of the city, Madame Teviot's Skins & Furs has stood for a number of decades.
The store is a large single-storied, wooden building, sectioned into three rooms. The main room is the shop floor, which holds a whole host of items, from trousers, shirts, hats, scarfs, gloves, cloaks and coats, to blankets and rugs. The two back rooms serve as a preparation room and a spacious crafting room. The shop floor has two main sections. The largest is filled with clothing, hand-made by Lise Teviot and her numerous staff. The bulk of these items consist of fur and leather garments, specifically designed to combat the freezing temperatures of the climate. Alongside these, one will find pieces more suited to warmer places; shirts, cotton dresses and the likes. In the corner of the area are a dressing room and a measuring pedestal for the more wealthy clientele who wish to purchase tailored outfits.
The other half of the shop floor houses materials for purchase. These include: rolls of linen; cut fur hides; leather hides; craft knives; dyes; thread and needles. Sitting at the far end of the store is a long counter, which serves as both a surface for measuring fabric for a customer, and the primary station for the on-duty shop assistant.
Though there are many other fur shops in the city, none can doubt the superior quality of the cut and design of the clothing that comes from Madame Teviot's shop. Even those with only a few coins to rub together would rather purchase a long lasting coat from here than from a second rate vendor. The service is also undeniably good. Should you be kind enough, and turn up on the right day, Madame Teviot will sell on the second hand items from the more wealthy members of the city. These items will carry the same guarantee of quality and longevity as a new item, but at a fraction of the price.
