The most populated region of the Hotlands, the Western Hotlands is home to Nashaki itself, a city made wealthy by trade, aided by the Immortal of Commerce in it's inception, and bolstered by strong trade agreements with it's closest neighbors, Athart and Yaralon. The area also boasts the only port in the Hotlands, giving Nashaki access to the Crescent Sea and all the trade opportunities that entails. However, Nashaki is also known for it's decadence and tendency to fatten itself even at the expense of others. The ruins of Ehtrusan are the most well known marker of Nashaki's greed, as they were unwilling to tolerate a rival to their trade dominance in the region.
However, despite it's strong alliance with Athart and it's frequent employment of Yaralon mercenaries, Nashaki has been ever nervous about it's other northern neighbor, The Eternal Empire. A worry proven well founded when The Eternal Empire invaded in 717, haven grown too disgusted by Nashaki's excessive greed and decadence to allow it to proceed, though Nashaki claims that The Eternal Empire is merely jealous of it's vast wealth.
