Kali lifted her head at the sound of shouting, frowning at the old man on the dock before looking back at the shark. It’s glittering teeth and eyes flashed in the waters, giving the brunette a chill. The ocean was a place of mystery and danger, something to both respect and fear.
”Undead?” The Sev’ryn said sharply, looking at her lover with an even deeper frown. Her eyes skimmed to the spot she knew he wore a deep silvery scar from the tussle with the last undead best they’d come across. Nocking another arrow, she focused on the shark, picking up the unnatural movements of it’s body, or rather lack of. It made sense, in a way, that the thing might be dead and born again.
”Might be worth dipping an arrow in pitch and setting it alight if this doesn’t work. Not sure how easily it will catch with the water but I could aim for the fin. Let’s see...” Breathing in, she drew the string back taught and aimed this time directly for one dark glittering eye just under the water. Adjusting slightly for the distortion the waves made, Kali loosened her arrow on the great beast. It flew fast and true, thunking dully into the head of the fish just above its eye, and stuck there firmly. The huntress lowered her bow with a confused face.
”Are sharks armoured at all? That should have pierced much deeper and I would expect at least a jump from the impact.” Glancing back at the inked sailor, she shook her head.
”Burn it with fire?”
