Appearance
L
azuli has her father’s soft, slightly rounded jaw and strong chin. Her brows are dark and follow the natural curve of her piercing blue eyes. Her nose is straight and her mouth is small, with a defined lip-line. Lazuli considers herself to be unremarkably plain and does little with her hair which frames her face in soft, messy waves. Like her mother, and very unlike her twin, Lazuli’s hair has remained dark, sometimes lightened a few shades by sun damage. The feature Lazuli likes least about herself is the mask of faint freckles that cover her lower forehead, nose and cheeks. Her skin is a soft shade of pastel that darkens only faintly during the warmer seasons, and as much as she prefers the sun-kissed look, Lazuli does her best not to get too much sun as she fears it will only cause her freckles to darken. It is a rare sight to coax a smile from Lazuli, even rarer still to lay eyes on a genuine grin, but when she does smile one is greeted by a wall of straight, white teeth.
At a glance, Lazuli can seem quite stern, especially when her eyes are fixed on someone or something, though it is unusual for her to look anyone in the eye longer than a few seconds; she is incredibly people shy and often works herself up over things that aren’t important, putting on a brave face which makes her bark a lot meaner than her bite. Lazuli looks down when she walks, especially in town, and with hunched shoulders, can make herself appear very unapproachable.
P
erhaps the biggest change in Lazuli’s look is often the colour of her eyes whenever she is upset, it is then the brilliant blues take on a foggy green hue. Standing at five foot, six inches, Lazuli finds it easy to become lost in a crowd and has often escaped unwanted attention this way. She stands and sits up straight in the presence of strangers, but around family has been known to slouch, especially after a long day’s work in the fields, tending to crops or animals. In regards to attire Lazuli has very selective, reserved tastes, often dressing in dark, earthy colours, black, brown, green, and navy blue being among her favourites. She wears loose clothing and stiff coats that make her form appear very straight down and narrow, though she has quite handsome curves, her shoulders are rather square, limbs long and lean, with small, elegant hands and thin, ladylike fingers; not something one might expect of a farm-girl.
During the hot season when it is too warm to where more than one layer of clothing, Lazuli opts for light tones and fabrics, often donning a pair of shorts that cut off just below mid-thigh and a long, billowy, sleeveless shirt topped with a short tan, suede leather waistcoat, and a pair of boots that stop half way up her calves. It is times like these that Lazuli does something different with her hair, choosing to put it up in a messy bun or loose braid. With a very reserved dress style, Lazuli will only show skin while working on the family farm, or while swimming in the local river with her twin sister.
Personality
S
hy, wistful, and often far away, people tend to struggle in their attempts to get to know Lazuli. As a young girl she sat alone at school, head down and focused on her studies. During break time Lazuli and her twin sister Lei'lira were almost inseparable, truly at ease in each other’s presence. As a young adult not much has changed, though Lazuli’s school days are over, she seldom ventures to town without Lei'lira by her side to keep her company. The young woman is extremely protective of Lei'lira and can sometimes appear braver than she is when standing up for her sister. Her lack of facial expressions tends to make her difficult to read, though her inability to look a person square in the eye stems from old troubles at school as a girl when other children would tease her for being a ‘daydreamer’ or ‘staring’, something she was never able to catch herself in the act of doing. Like her father, Lazuli is softly spoken, speaking only when she feels she has something worthwhile to add to a conversation, having never mastered small-talk, the idea alone putting her ill at ease.
Were her mother to describe the girl, she would say that her daughter is caring, cautious, devoted, more often than not aloof, and loyal without fault, while her father would describe her simply as resilient, wise beyond her years, humble, and ever ready to lend a hand to those in need. If Lazuli were to give voice to her own self-image, she would merely state that she is determined, far too hard on herself, but for the most part feels comfortable in her own skin.
L
azuli’s shy disposition has always made it difficult for her to make friends, though she is content to bask in her sister’s company like a well-sunned cat, she has been able to maintain a few close friendships with a handful of people they went to school with. Personality wise most people describe Lazuli as a tomboy, always doing the opposite of what the average girl might; she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, and has always struggled to make friends with girls her age, opting to hang out with the boys when she isn’t able to take up anymore of her sister’s time. Though the majority of Lazuli’s friends are men, she has never been kissed and doesn’t take note of any expressed feelings of emotions directed at her, tending to turn people down gently, if somewhat abruptly. In terms of sexual preference, Lazuli might classify herself as being asexual, though she has experienced the odd bout of lust once or twice in her few short years; it takes a lot to turn her head. When it comes to matters of the heart, Lazuli keeps her feelings close to her chest, sometimes hiding her true feelings even from Lei'lira.
Whatever the case, Lazuli has always been fortunate to have a sister like Lei'lira whom she feels she can share just about anything with. As their mother has been gone for the past three arcs, the two girls have learned to rely only on themselves, leaning on each other every now and then for support.
History
Jared Warrick
L
azuli's Human father was a descendent of the great Henry Warrick, a founding member of Rynmere. Like the legend, Jared passed in battle on a routine mission while stationed in Krom, arc 712 just before Lazuli's seventeenth birthday, aged thirty-nine. Jared was a warden of the Moseke Knights, hard and battle ready around his men, gentle and softly spoken with his twin daughters, Lazuli and Lei'lira. He was an excellent teacher, endearing father, and loved husband. As a boy, Jared had dreamed of following in the footsteps of his forefathers and worked hard to gain favour with the local knights, trading the bucket and spade of his farm boy life for a sword and shield, an art he later worked valiantly to teach his two children, who were far more interested in riding horses than learning how to defend themselves. Lazuli took on her father's lessons begrudgingly, disappointed later, some time after the man's death, at the way she had made things more difficult than they needed to be for a father who only wanted the best for his girls. Of the two parents Lazuli always felt closer to Jared, who she saw as less of an authority figure and more as a friend, one she could share all her hopes and dreams with. His love, passion, and determination still inspire the young woman to this day and no man will ever be able to fill his shoes.
Sar'eiris Warrick
S
ar'eiris was a stay at home mother, tending to her husband's farm while he was away for long periods of time, serving the Kingdom of Rynmere in his role as a Moseke Knight. She had been on a quest, in search of her animal guide, one that had brought her to this strange, foreign land and seen that her path had crossed with Jared's. She often spoke about love at first sight, of a spell she had fallen under, as if trapped by the man's gaze. Unlike her sister, Lei'lira, Lazuli doesn't believe in such tales, and has alway remained a hard woman to impress; she ignored all of the boys at school, and never seemed to ever let anyone get too close to her. After Jared's death, Sar'eiris grew restless, homesick, and torn between a life she had always longed to return to, and the one, which honour bound, had kept her for over eighteen long years. It had been a quick decision, made on a whim during the night of a full moon. Lazuli's mother had awoken and hurriedly packed her things, waking her girls only to bid them farewell, pressing a tender kiss to each of their tear-stained cheeks. They had followed her out the door and watched her take to the road, barefoot, as whimsical as the stories she liked to tell, carefree, light, and homeward bound. Though both girls love their mother dearly, Lazuli would refuse to leave her father's farm and they life she knew best.

Housing
L
azuli lives in a modest cottage that she shares with her twin sister on half an acre of land in the region of Warrick within the realm of Rynmere. Together they grow crops and raise animals, working as humble farmers. Their cottage is made out of stone and wood with high beams in the ceiling, wooden floors, a stone fireplace, and moderate furnishings. Most of the artwork, fixtures, furniture, and bedding was crafted with the materials they had available to them on the farm, such as wool, pelts, bones, river rocks, and flax. Lazuli's belongings consist of a simple bed, chair, table, place settings, and cutlery. As well as this, the young woman has a pet dog, named Jed, to keep her company while working out in the fields, who doubles as a good watchdog, preferring to sleep in front of the fire or on the doormat when he gets too hot. Lazuli is currently working to train the young dog to follow simple commands, such as sit, stay, come, down, fetch, and listen, of which Jed has so far managed to master none.
The cottage is situated about a ten minute walk from the River Kyo and it is a half hour ride by horse to the village of Warrick, located just north of the family farm which Jared explained had been in the Warrick family since the time of the Sacred Seven. The land around the homestead is fairly flat for the most part, with a small forest situated between their farm and the village. Ever the loyalist, Lazuli believes that in keeping ownership of her father’s farm, so too is she keeping his memory alive.
