Amphitrite seemed likely to handle the Mer on her own, with little input from Eir's wordless instructions. Watching the Mer wield the spear in her own defense was an encouraging sight. For all Eir cared, it meant he did not have another escort assignment on his hands. At least, one that refused to fight back. Unfortunately, the Yaralon Mercenary could not return any thoughts, for he lacked the ability to communicate telepathically. Instead, the Mer receives a thumb's up from the Human before the sudden pulling upon his neck brings them both up for air.
A gasp is taken, air filling his lungs as Eir's eyes widen. He wasn't a decent swimmer as is, he'd surely have drowned before having tasted the salty sea air once more. But before he could return his thanks, the chaos on the docks caught his attention. The shadow fiends were causing trouble everywhere, no one was safe from the deadly onslaught in the middle of this frigid night. Soon, Eir turns towards Amphitrite to comment on the situation. "These people need our help." It was a noble goal, one murmured through shivering, chittering teeth. But the darkness was not over, it was far from done. The shadows were surrounding them, ignoring their presence. Eir grabs a hold of the Mer's arm and swims to the right, right underneath the Gunvorton docks.
Carefully, Amphitrite is pulled out of the water and onto the beach, just enough to be out of reach from their sudden grasp. Yet, she was close enough so that she could dive back into the water at her leisure. "I can't fight in the water with my longsword. It's too cumbersome. You can't fight on land, not without being in a constant state of pain..." The Mercenary carefully reflects on the proper solution, pulling the fur on his coat closer to his exposed flesh.
"I got it!" Eir pipes up, turning towards the Mer. "I'll grab a wagon or something to carry you. You won't have to touch the ground, so your feet won't be touching the ground. Though, for now... I think it's best I just carry you on my back." There wasn't an issue with carrying a Mer on his back. The true challenge laid in the fact that his mobility would be hampered by additional weight. Not to mention, his ability to combat the shadow-spawns that attacked the docks. But it was a risk worth taking. Separating from one another meant being unable to help. Eir soon nears Amphitrite, squatting with his back turned towards the Mer to make climbing up his back an easier challenge. "Climb up! We're going to run through Gunvorton!"
