The Bronze Boar

The Bronze Boar
Image

The Bronze Boar is a popular drinking establishment in the Earth Quarter. It came into being during arc 690 and is named for the boar that makes its home in Ivorian.

The tavern is two stories tall and built of rough stone. The first floor holds the main bar, kitchen, and seating area, complete with an open floor near the back of the room where bards play and spontaneous dancing often breaks out. The room is usually filled with laughter, shouts, and the sounds of mugs being slammed heavily on the tables or clinked against one another in toasts, regardless of the time of day.

Candles line the walls and tables on the main floor, and decorative ropes and beams drape from the ceiling. All furniture is made of sturdy well-worn wood, and furs are draped along the back of the chairs and benches to make the seating more comfortable. Just don’t look too closely - the furs are rarely washed.

Rickety wooden stairs near the front door of the tavern lead to the second floor, which contains a smaller bar and a fighting ring. Here, fighters test their unarmed combat skills against each other on a near-nightly basis. Revelers on the first floor are frequently able to hear cheers and jeers from the fighting ring after the 23rd break, which only encourages the already rowdy atmosphere.

Daveth Elanon
Image
Race: Ithecal
DoB: 38th Trial of Ymiden, 667
Title: Tavern Owner
Skills: Discipline (51), Business Management (42), Brewing (38), Persuasion (33)

Daveth came to Rharne from Ivorian during the 690th arc and immediately did what many of the city’s immigrants do: opened up a bar. Though there were no shortage of bars in the city, Daveth immediately took up the challenge of turning his into one of the more popular locations. Thanks to his diligent work ethic and his Immortal-like persistence, the Bronze Boar soon changed from a seedy bar to a respectable tavern with a regular crowd of loyal customers.

Though he can be a bit strict for some Rharnians’ tastes, Daveth maintains a welcoming attitude to all who enter his establishment. He is a good source of knowledge for anyone looking for information on locals in the Earth Quarter, as he is friendly with all of the tavern’s regulars. His one fault as a business owner may be his hesitation to toss out any overly rowdy customers. Thanks to recent criticism of fights getting out of hand, he’s taken to hiring the odd mercenary or former Knight to help keep the peace.

Daveth is a Patharnum Ithecal that stands a shy hair over 7'8" feet tall with scales a faded blue and hide a sandy brown. HIs tail changes to a brown- and gold-scaled hue which spans a solid 5 feet. He tends to wear a simple jute tunic and can most often be found behind the main bar on the first floor.
