1 Cylus, Arc 721
It was announced that most everyone would adjourn to the beach, but apparently not the special guests, including her. Lacing her fingers through Balthazar’s as they walked, she cast her gaze around the island – at least what she could see. The young woman liked it there. There was a peaceful feeling she couldn’t quite put her finger on…but perhaps that was just coming from the event itself. Everything about the evening had been beautiful and serene. There was a tranquility that came with that.
And, of course, having Balthazar to share in that meant everything to her.
Seated, it was time for words and gifts. She watched and listened as Saoire made her way through the guests. When the Immortal finally found her way to the pair, she focused on Balthazar first, speaking to his bravery. Smiling, Elisabeth gently settled her hand on his leg as a pillow was brought forth with not one, but two rings. Her eyes gazed down at the rings, then to Balthazar, curious as to how he would interpret the gift.
Surprisingly, a gift was given to her...from Saoire herself. The young woman gently took the gift in her hands, smiling at the Immortal. "Thank you. I will put it to good use."
Before she knew it, a silver ring was being held out to her.
Gazing softly at Balthazar, she allowed a gentle smile to form. Something inside of her wanted to say something clever about Yaralon but she resisted. Carefully, she reached out her hand to accept the ring, eyes never leaving his gaze as she did. After a moment, she looked down at the ring offered, and then over to his hand, where his ring was already gently wrapped around a finger on his left hand. Smiling, she put her ring on the same hand and finger.
Events moved on. Darius was named as one of the Barons and Elisabeth thought the choice was perfect. She had no knowledge of the other two, so she really had no thoughts about it.
Balthazar’s voice drew her attention again, asking her about the island. “It’s nice. There is something of a peaceful feeling here that I like. I’m not sure where it’s coming from though. It could be that I just like the company…” Gently nudging her body with his, she noted him fumbling over his words a bit.
Stay?
He wanted her to stay.
They hadn’t really talked about what would happen after Scalvoris. She still had a home – and cat – in Rharne, and the plan for Scalvoris really hadn't been so much set in stone as it was vague.
He wanted her to stay. With him.
Elisabeth looked out at the water for a trill, a soft smile forming on her face before turning back to him, speaking softly. “For a while. Forever. They really are the same thing. I’m finally where I want to be. I don’t care if it's Scalvoris…or somewhere else. With you is the only place I want to be.”
And with that, she leaned over and kissed him, completely unconcerned about who was around them.
