Dead Wood
The Dead Wood is a grove of poisonous flora located within the heart of the mid Scaltoth Jungle.
Contrary to its name, the Dead Wood is actually quite alive with a variety of floral and mushroom species. Mushrooms abound in this small biome within the Jungle, growing seemingly from deep within the earth they spring up whenever something crawls into the Dead Wood to expire.
The Dead Wood gets its name as the place where older tribal survivalists/warriors go to expire in honor, before their Goddess. Otherwise, it's very much deadly to species that don't have a latent resistance to disease or poison, as it contains much poisonous flora of various stripes.
Even should the plants fail to kill one, there are couriers of Lisirra, a higher number than usual, residing in shallow graves within the soil of the Dead Wood, ready to awaken upon hearing the sounds of the living entering their domain. Insects, oddly enough, even the ones not resistant to poison are drawn to this place and aren't usually preyed upon by anything other than the occasional skull gull.
