City Interview!

It's that time again! We are continuing with our newly formed tradition of interviewing city moderators to share with you, the players, the great things about each location and some sweet things about our great volunteers. Well, well, well...

After discussions and a vote amongst the staff, we have decided to remove the cap on the number of Mortalborns that can be made by players. This decision was made to remove limitations that didn't need to be in place, and to give players more freedom to write the characters they want to write without needing to keep a count on a limited cap.

That being said, all Mortalborn rules apply per the application, so please make sure to check those here before applying! :D

Syroa Rumored to have Died at the Mummer's Ball!


In the Mummer's Ball held in Rharne, it's rumored that a group of adventurers, including Varlum, Vivian, Vega, and Arlo Creede, have assassinated the Immortal of Transformation, along with the help of several Immortals who were also in attendance. Widespread disbelief and incredulity spreads in the wake of this incredible feat. Some speculate that she may not be dead, but perhaps had faked it. Yet how could that be, when even the Immortals in attendance sensed her demise?

Shoppe Clarification


Hello all!

The following has been added to the Shoppe:

"Anyone purchasing items made with / using Tier 8 or above base resources, or the resources themselves (eg: metal, wood, gems) which are also described or categorised as rare, very rare, etc, must always get that purchase approved by your city mod. It will usually require a thread to acquire (although this may be a purchase / haggling thread, not a going out mining one), although the mod may approve acquisition without a thread if there is an existing IC reason which has been written"

This is effective for any threads going forward.

Dreamwalking


Hello all!

We are undertaking a review of Dreamwalking and so ask that no dreamwalking threads be submitted for review from this point on. I have just posted in the review queue so that pcs and peer reviewers are clear.

The decision to do this has been following a number of discussions between volunteers (peer reviewers, wiki workers, prophets) and a vote. It is a whole team decision, following the consensus that the dreamwalking skill is needing a revamp / re-write. It hasn't been an easy decision, but we feel it is necessary.

We will be undertaking this as a matter of urgency and have a group of volunteers who will be starting on it today.

But I've Got A Dream Thread Ongoing
We ask that you wait to post it for review. I'll keep you updated, and we'll go as quickly as we can.

But I use it to travel
We'll be as quick as we can - but I'm afraid that you'll need to find an alternative in the meantime.

If necessary - have it happen IC that your PCs dreamwalking stops working / blips. That's fine. If you used it to travel in GF'd threads from last season / cycle, that's fine. This cycle, I'm afraid you'll need to find an alternative.

Hello everybody.

I apologise for the inconvenience, but due a fair few issues stemming from the metaphysics behind Emea and how this relates to the skill of dreamwalking we are temporarily locking the use of the dreamwalking skills more advanced abilities.

Players are still able meet and thread together via the use of the Lucid Dreaming and Walking abilities. However all abilities listed in the skill writeup requiring 20 dreamwalking points or higher are no longer to be referenced or used in threads.

This measure will only be in effect until deeper lore questions, such as what Emea is and what soul are, have been decided upon and uploaded onto the site wiki. Once these deeper lore aspects have been clariffied then the dreamwalking skill will be reworked to match this, and rereleased in full.

If you have any further questions regarding this you are welcome to send me a PM anytime, and I will endevour to answer at my earliest opportunity.

Heya guys. We've made a small clarification to the alchemy skill, namely potions: wiki/index.php?title=Category:Alchemy#A ... of_Alchemy


Potions are not permanent, nor do they last in a pristine state forever. We don't want to give strict limits on how long they last, as this should be driven by story. Nor do we wish to say what happens when a potion is starting to go off. Players are asked to be sensible and remember to play this aspect.
We've added this to the end of the description of Alchemy potions in the write-up. Please adhere to this rule for this skill going forward. Thanks!
