Hey guys,

So our very own Gennadiya Lyosha has had a very fun idea for a thread, that they wish to advertise to the rest of the site for following/voting/stalking. It's a very fun idea, basically Bachelorette show in Idalos (Rharne specifically). So you'll be voting off the guy you don't like each round. I'll be setting a poll on the request of Gennadiya there.

By the way, if anyone else has any interesting ideas like this in the future, feel free to reach out for support and attention here in the news feed and I'll give your series/project a little boost of attention!

Hello!

I've made a New Forum today for volunteers (wiki workers, peer reviewers, prophets, tech guys) to put their "office" threads. Any volunteer who has a volunteer office will place the link to it in their UCP and you'll be able to see it under their avatar in any post.

Magic Clarification.
Hello!

Many thanks to Doran who has identified an issue with the magic Transmutation ( link ). He then proposed an amendment to the Wiki write up and put it to a Discord quick-vote in the staff volunteer server.

Original version:

Between master and student, a unique ether link will develop. While within a city block of each other, a master or student can both transfer their own soul’s ether to the other, making a student and master dangerous opponents in combat.

Now Reads:

Skills Beta on the UCP!
The Skills Beta on the UCP (if you have no idea what that is - it's AMAZING - read it here and ask in your local Discord it's a time saver of the first degree!) is nearing completion.

Tech Guy and I are working on Tier 2 skills, currently but will be doing a smaller release first. In that release will be the ability to deal with those "extra" XP that you can get from Renown or from Marks which can take you over the 250 (100 if Fast Track) totals.

Therefore, if you have any of those XP (and are using the UCP CS system) then please PSF request your additional XP (if you haven't already) and put them in now, to the correct skills. Please maintain your CS record of these and where you got them until the release of the update.


Also - reminder to all players - you are required to have the link to your Character Wiki in your Profile Fields. If you are unsure how to do this, please see this post and look at the "Edit Profile" section of the "Profile" tab.

Skills Beta on the UCP!
Skills Beta? Naaaaah! We will be doing an update on Thursday evening (my time - UK) which will turn the skills Beta into just the Skills!

This update will include:

1. Enhanced notifications (reached a renown threshold? had a thread reviewed? Notifications!)
2. Tier 2 integrated into skills
3. Specialisms (things like Dual Wield, Thrown, Type of Mount Skill) will be fully integrated.
4. There is now a "Details" drop down on each skills Knowledge Bar - it gives a list of each specialism and all knowledges.
5. The "Details" drop down is also on the User Profile.

This will mean that on Thursday there will be up to 30 minutes disruption. Please save your work, etc.

Change to Nalos Champion Power


Hello folks. Prompted by this ticket, we've changed the wording on one of the aspects of the Nalos Champion power, Constellation: Nalos

New:

The Dragon - A Great flying reptile, formed of starlight, lands before the Blessed and flies them and one passenger to any destination at a tenth of the travel time. This only applies to long-term travel. In stressful situations, it has the base speed of any flying mount, and the same applies to the Brux. Neither rider can be knocked from its saddle or otherwise disturbed, even by the swiftness and agility of its aerial maneuvers. Damage does not "kill" the beast, but like "The Galleon", enough damage will cause the entity to shrink until it will no longer be able to support its riders. This entity does not engage in direct combat with other creatures, but can use its immense strength to do simple tasks, like pulling and pushing large objects for purposes that are strictly non-hostile. This entity can only be summoned once per season.

Old:

As you can see, we've clarified just how fast it is as it travels, and as it's just flying around in short-range. We've also stipulated that it's purely non-aggressive, unlike the Lurker or the Brux, for instance. Also stipulated that unlike the Galleon, this is meant for small groups of 2 or slightly more characters.

Update!
The update has gone ahead and the following new features are available:

  1. Enhanced notifications When you reach a particular renown threshold (as per the renown guide), you'll get a reminder to tell you that you're eligible to apply for a reward. You'll also get a notification when a thread has been reviewed.
  2. Tier 2 has been integrated into skills. You can now record Tier 2 into your skill bars in your UCP CS. Peer Reviewers can now award Tier 2 XP. If you are an existing Tier 2 PC, please just PSF and we'll award you your current totals.
  3. Combat Specialisms : Things like Dual Wield, Thrown etc. Where there is a knowledge requirement for specific knowledge - you now have a tally of those. When you make your review request, please identify which knowledge you would like to be specific to that specialism. The reviewer can then add it specifically.
  4. Details Drop Down Menu If you hover over the "knowledge" bar on any skill (either in your own UCP or by going to a player's profile and scrolling down to their skills) then a "Details" drop down menu will appear. This will list the available specialisms for that skill, identify your progress in it, and then will list your knowledge.
  5. Mount Skill : We've gotten rid of the temporary fix of this showing as three separate skills. There is now one Mount skill and the terrains are specialisms.
    • Please note: There are some specialisms which are "free". These are, for example -
      • Your first chosen terrain for your mount skill
      • Your first choice for 1-handed / 2-handed
With this update, the skills tab on the UCP is no longer Beta and this is now the full skills system. Massive thanks, as always, to Tech Guy for his fantabulous work and major shout out to Pig Boy who was hugely helpful in testing.


You may need to edit your knowledge if you need to add any that count towards specialism.

Oh Hey, Pegasus might have forgotten to mention:

Mount and weapon specialisms count toward the knowledge total for your skill gateways. So if you have 5 knowledges from dual wielding this weapon or that, they count as 5 knowledges for each weapon.

So go crazy training those dual wield and two-handed weapon skills. Don't forget to throw your sword too for practice :lol:

Hey, a new note about Throwing Specialism for weapon schools:

We've voted, and opted to clarify the skill level malus for throwing a weapon without the specialism. It goes as follows:
If one lacks the specialism to throw a weapon within a given weapon skill, they will then throw that weapon a single level lower than their current (Experts will throw at competent, competent at novice, etc.). Anyone can throw a weapon at novice skill, however, because it is the lowest skill level and therefore does not receive the skill reduction.

Hello Fellow PCs,

So, we've got reviews piling up recently which means that pcs are playing, and that's awesome. Have you ever found yourself reading another person's thread, and wanting to give more indepth or direct feedback, or even be empowered to give medals for an exceptional thread that affected you in one way or another, whether it was funny or fun or dramatic? Join the Peer Reviewer team, and you can do all of that, and contribute to discussions and votes that affect site rules and direction.

Plus you can ensure that your threads get seen that much faster. Lots of perks to reviewing threads, if you already happen to be watching the threads of others, you have really nothing to lose in tagging them for review when they're up on the queue.

We don't ask for a huge amount of activity from each reviewer, we're all volunteers here and you aren't expected to keep an exact or regular schedule of reviewing unless you want to, but even one or two reviews a week are greatly appreciated.

Here's the Peer Reviewer Guide for an idea of what the role entails.
