Scaltoth Prowlers

Scaltoth Prowlers
Image
Developed by Ralgar Warborn
Price: N/A
Habitat: Scaltoth Prowlers live deep in the middle or southern areas of the Scaltoth jungle, preferring to inhabit rivers and small lakes. These creatures will often stray away from their natural homes, however, in hunt of meat and food. As well as this, some theorize they travel in groups and hunt for sport, looking for humans and other creatures to take down.
Lifespan and Development: With a lifespan of up to twenty years, the Prowlers reach maturity at the age of three years old, initially starting as smaller young. While these creatures are in no way sentient, they are intelligent and move similar to an ape through their life, eventually running and climbing with immense confidence. Their bodies become hardened and powerful as they age, skin tough as leather armor. These creatures grow similarly to humans but far more rapidly, standing at 6’ on average by the age of three. Born the size of a baby, they stand at the size of a toddler at 3 foot and 6 inches by the age of 1, and at anywhere from 4 to 5 feet by the age of 2.
Diet: Entirely carnivorous, even enjoying the taste of Mortal flesh. Will eat anything it believes it can beat in battle.
Temperament: Aggressive, territorial and overly hostile when threatened or hunting for prey. While they may seem impossible to tame, some elders in the tribes of Scaltoth claim to have seen them turned to the side of older tribesmen. Whether this allegiance was temporary or permanent, or even true to begin with, is yet to be discovered. Yet the heightened intelligence of the Prowlers leads many to believe this is possible. In reality, males are the only creatures that can be tamed, as the females are protective and worried about protecting the young. Even when tamed however, the male Prowlers prefer to work in isolation with their trainer, usually kept away from other animals and always kept from their own kind.
Abilities: Hardened skin, vicious fangs and natural dexterity make these creatures powerful hunters. Claws and fangs are their primary weapon, giving them an edge against unprepared opponents.
Weaknesses: Easily provoked into attacking, reckless and vicious. These creatures are typically trapped because of their desperate urge to kill. In a fair fight, however, little can catch these beasts off guard.

Hey Ralgar. This entry looks good so far. I just need to know how big it can grow, and how big it is at youth and infancy.

In addition, being able to tame it would be alright if there were certain caveats. I think based on its aggression and solitary nature, it'd be damn near impossible to breed for domestication purposes. So let's say that females (who will be busy protecting their young most likely), aren't tameable. But males may be as long as they're the only Prowler within a trainer's stable.

I may think of other issues, but that's the most pressing one that needs to be addressed for now.

Re: Scaltoth Prowlers

Hi Ralgar

Could you please add in a section on "Appearance" - I think that this would really benefit from that - like, do they have big sticky-up-thingies on their heads, etc?

Thank you!
