Appearance
Bushy hair, both facial and on his head, unkempt and disheveled from negligence to his appearance.
Wild, distant eyes that hold a spark of piercing intelligence. They seem to look through the world, rather than at it. Right though, down to the mishmash of alchemical essencences that constitutes it.
He is almost always wearing large, loosefitting clothing, as it is best suited to prevent burns from chemical leaks or accidents.
He usually smells of chemicals, generally kind of pleasant, depending on what he did that day.
Personality
Albert Magnus isn't just intelligent. He's cunning. His intelligence can never fail him, or so he likes to believe.
His voice is generally slightly higher pitch, unassuming, and amiable. He is fine with magic, but is slightly uneasy about the it, like any good scientist. He believes in the power inherent in all humans, whether it be physical or intellectual. He doesn't like the idea of obtaining a power alien to one's own natural capabilities, with the exception of one's own alchemy.
Albert Magnus loves alchemy! He is obsessed with it, thinking of everything from a Alchemical perspective.
The most discernible trait is his love for knowledge, which surpasses his love for Alchemy hundredfold
He believes in the power of his own being; the things he can create and perform using his wits, his hands and his will.
History
Albert Magnus was born and raised in Scalvoris, but he and his father left and stayed at Rynmere for a time, in an attempt to avoid all the trouble stirring up in Scalvoris at the time
His father, Thomas Magnus, taught him Alchemy, and Albert worked in his father's lab as his assistant.
'Alchemy is the art of taking the things you want and putting them together.' He would say, as he worked on his newest experiments, making clothing that could serve as armour, or explosives that saw use by the military.
He never knew his mother, who had died in labour.
Albert wasn't particularly gifted in alchemy, but his father had always told him that the most important quality is to be curious, and Albert had enough curiousity for the both of them.
The biggest event that cemented his love for alchemy and respect for his father, was when a person had been bitten by a poisonous snake. His father had stepped in, having the man carried to his lab, with his poisoned limb tied to cut off circulation.
In mere minutes, his father had made an antidote. The crowd watched with bated breath. A loud cheer echoed through the neighbourhood as the colour returned to the victim's face.
He spent his childhood doing errands for his father, delivering special materials and cleaning lab equipment.
In his teens he learned the basics of chemistry and how to apply it to alchemy.
During this time, his father had met an accident whilst preparing an explosive which had gone unstable and exploded, killing him and burning the house down.
After mourning for a while, Albert resolved to himself to go back to Scalvoris, and become a man to surpass his father. With all the insanity that had been going on there recently, scholars had been flocking to study the new flora and fauna. Who knows what kind of things he'd find in his old home.
Housing
400ft home, made entirely of wood. Simple in design, practical in its aesthetic. Moss grow on the damp outsides of the home, and would grow on the inside save for the chemical fumes coming from the lab in his house. A spacious living room and kitchen take up most of the home, with a small bathroom and bedroom to the side.
The kitchen has his incomplete lab kit set up, working as a small makeshift laboratory for his Alchemy.
