I died. There was no mistake, I made the wrong choice, and I was killed for it. But that wasn't the end for me. She had other designs for me. A grim bargain, but one willingly paid. Take up the knife against those whose influence would cause more like me to die.

  • Memorabilia
    • The first ability granted to a Zuuda is one of quiet reverence and importance. By visiting the gravesight of any mortal, a Zuuda can drop into a state of meditation while touching the burial marker and intuit details about who was buried there. Images of what was important to them in life, flashes of what they were passionate about, and the faces of those they loved and cared about. At this level the power is not strong enough to directly ask for any information, but more experience the information unfiltered. A grave marker can be any object set to mark where a body is buried.

    Servant's Endurance
    • This ability is a reward for those who provide faithful service. So long as a Zuuda is in service to another,either directly as in the case of a slave, servant or employee, or indirectly, such as when following orders or working towards a goal set by a higher authority they have nearly twice the endurance of any their race or what their skill level might suggest. This endurance can only be used in service to the person, organisation or goal the Zuuda is beholden to or directly working for. They can go longer without sleep and tend to have hidden reservoirs of energy when doing errands or work which is directly related. Depending on what this task is, this ability could be useful indeed.

    Servant's Skills I
    • Add an extra three skill points to one of the following skills: Cooking, Endurance, Psychology or a craft skill related to a Zuuda’s chosen service. These points can exceed the 100 point limit.

    Servant's Mark

    • A Zuuda is capable of marking a single individual with this ability. Usually, the recipient will be unaware of the mark upon them as it can only be seen by those marked with Zuuda or some other ability to perceive divine marks. This ability does two different things depending on the nature of the relationship the Zuuda has with the marked. First, this can only be performed on someone the Zuuda works for, someone they work with in service,or someone who works for the Zuuda. Only those that have a certain relationship of subservience or servitude can partake. Second, if this is placed upon someone the Zuuda works for, the Zuuda is enlightened with flashes of desires or worries from their master or employer, no matter the distance between them. Likewise, a Zuuda will always be immediately aware when their master or employer is in danger or need and exactly what the nature of that danger or need is. For a Zuuda marking an individual who works for them or alongside them in a shared endeavour, the nature of this ability changes. Instead, the Zuuda will be aware of their servant or colleagues emotions and whether the work they are handling is too straining or stressful to their being. Like marking an employer, a Zuuda will always be aware if their employee or colleague is in danger but perhaps more frequent...they will know when their employee or colleague is slacking off or if their heart is no longer in their work. Someone can only be marked once a cycle. If anything were to remove this mark, the Zuuda must wait for a new Cycle to mark the individual anew.

APPEARANCE

Charlotte, before her death, was vibrant and full of life, and her appearance reflected that. She had bright eyes, always shining, and a smile that could light up the room. Her hair was always styled well, with pins and headbands that showed the wealth of her station. Since her resurrection, though, she cares very little for the frills. Her eyes are still the same blue, but they no longer glitter in the light, and her dark hair hangs straight down to her shoulders. She is thin and lithe, practicing every trial to combat the infection in the world.

She is tall for a woman, 5'10", and has smooth, pale skin. Wrapped around her wrist is the black mark of Zuuda, and she displays it openly and with pride. Servitude is her mission.
PERSONALITY

Since her death, the girlish and innocent personality peeled away, revealing a determined and solemn young woman. No longer interested in flights of fancy, or anything outside her mission, Charlotte works hard and doesn't give up unless forced to. When she gives her word, she keeps it, but she will choose the greater good over the individual in almost every case. Her highest loyalty lies with Famula, who brought her back, and she will follow her directives over even personal relationships.

HISTORY, PART I

Her birth wasn't lucky, or a miracle. It didn't kill her parents or cause one to leave. She wasn't unplanned or unwanted. Instead, Charlotte entered Idalos a happy and rather fat baby, with a head of hair and a giggle that nobody could resist. Her mother, Lara, loved her, toting her and doting on her from the beginning. Her father, a clerk-turned-judge, spent a lot of time progressing his career, but he was well payed. This led to an education for Charlotte that many non-nobility didn't get, and she used this to her advantage.

As a young girl, Charlotte was interested in dresses and dolls. She liked sweets, she liked fluffy animals. She always wanted a horse, a white one with a flowing mane that flew in the wind. She was sweet, well-mannered, and she was very outgoing. She made friends with everyone she met, introducing herself and curtsying so prettily. She was adorable, and everyone loved her.

And as she grew, she grew more and more pretty, gaining the looks her mother had in her youth. Bright eyes were wide and round, excited all the time. Pretty lips curled around straight teeth, and she began to blossom into a young woman. At fourteen arcs, she took up dancing, though it was more to please her mother than herself. She was interested in creative pursuits, singing and painting mostly. But as she was learning the art of dance, she was introduced to a young musician, Darro Gerrain. The man, freshly 18 arcs, played a standing cello and sang with a voice that stunned her. She was infatuated immediately, and she spent all her time fantasizing about the man. After a time, he began to notice her as well. Her slender form, her trusting eyes...

She would be perfect.
HISTORY PART II

Darro took to her like she did to him, the two obsessing over one another. There was a mystery about the older musician, and Charlotte desperately wanted to discover his secrets. He told her that one trial, he would share them with her, but the excitement proved to be too much. She needed to know.

It was a dark trial in Cylus when she finally found out, much to Darro's chagrin. She heard him singing, his voice deeper and more rattling than she'd ever heard. When she peered into the window, she saw the form of a man... Without flesh! The skeleton stood at the ready, eye-less sockets staring past Darro to stare into Charlotte's very being. Darro didn't see, but Charlotte felt at ease. The skeleton made her feel safe.

When she confronted him, Darro offered to initiate her into the art of BoneSong, as his father had done him. He offered to do so on her sixteenth birthtrial, and she agreed. She loved him, and he her.

So she thought.

When the trial came, Darro explained the initiation, and she felt the fear surge through her. How would she survive? But she agreed nonetheless. SHe wanted to share this with him, to be closer to him. They could BoneSing together, she thought. And when the initiation began, her worst fears proved true.

The risen were too much for her, and they killed her.

The next thing she knew, she was approached by a bright light, a lantern held by a figure she couldn't see. And the Lantern offered her a choice: Remain dead forever, or return to the world of Idalos and hunt the very things she had just tried to become. Agreeing, Charlotte returned, changed and determined.

She was a slave to her deal. She didn't seem to mind.

PERSONAL INVENTORY

These are the items Charlotte carries on her person:
  • Set of standard clothing: Black cotton pants, a charcoal grey sweater, a heavy gray coat, shoes and underclothing.
  • Toiletries

  • Eating Utensils
  • Tinderbox
  • Two Masterwork Daggers - Two twin daggers, each perfectly echoing the other. One of the blades is a cold-forged steel, while the other is copper. Both are 9 inches long. Connected to a short cross-guard, the hilt is wrapped in black satin. Each pommel is that of an orb, etched to appear to have slats like lanterns. The gems in them are topaz, yellow both. The blades are perfectly balanced, but are not suitable for throwing.
  • Hiladrii Traitorstone [Heirloom] - Looted from the body of a Mantis member in Rynmere before Charlotte left. She was drawn to it through Famula's guidance, and it is the most important tool she currently has in her possession to hunt mages. Approved by Plague.
  • Large, waterproof heavy duty canvas bag with shoulder straps - To allow Charlotte to carry those items that might be useful while on the hunt for mages [BH]
  • A small notebook, partially burned and with some pages missing or torn - Found on the body of the same Mantis member where she got her Traitorstone, this book is full of handwriting and diagrams, much of its terminology quite technical pertaining to mages. [BH] (Quest-linked)
