History of the Forged
The Order of the Forged first came into existence during Ashan 720, when a group of heroes travelled into the volcano of Faldrass to try and stop it from erupting. There they discovered that the eruption had been the result of the mighty Induk Faldrass: a spirit of immense power with command over fire, breaking free from his long imprisonment. Faldrass was not an enemy of humanity; quite the opposite in fact, for Scalvoris was his home and he wished to protect it. He revealed that there was a secret cabal that'd been hiding in the shadows ever since the disappearance of the pirate lords. They were the ones who imprisoned him, and had been pulling the strings behind many of the disasters that had been plaguing the island for many arcs. He knew not what their goals were, but believed that action needed to be taken in order to uncover the mysteries of Scalvoris and defend it from this unseen threat. Sadly as the Induk of Faldrass he was bound to his island, unable to leave its boundaries without a vessel, and thus was unable to do this himself. And so Faldrass offered the heroes who had been present for his release a deal. He would grant them and other mortals who were committed to defending Scalvoris a fraction of his power. If they continued to prove themselves trustworthy he would grant them more of his powers, and reveal to them the ancient history of the island. Some of the heroes agreed, and with their bargain struck the Order of the Fireforged was created.
As the Fireforged began to search the island for the unseen cabal, so to did they begin to learn that the balance of nature in Scalvoris had been disrupted by this groups actions. In order to restore this balance the other great Induk: Ishallr, Scaltoth and Sweetwine, also had to be freed from their imprisonment. Like Faldrass these Induk also sought to protect Scalvoris, but could not quite see eye-to-eye on what this protection entailed. The other Induk also followed Faldrass' lead in lending their power to mortal champions, and thus the collective term for those who followed them became The Forged.
Becoming a Forged
You must possess a desire to protect Scalvoris from any who would wish to see it or it's people destroyed, and a willingness to uncover its hidden mysteries. Forged are expected to be selfless, brave and compassionate, yet willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the greater good of Scalvoris. The Order of the Forged are a secret organisation independent of any other factions, and may only intentionally reveal the existence of this faction to those who they wish to initiate. You may still be a member of The Elements, The Scalvoris Council or any other factions, but be aware that by becoming a Forged you are expected to put your duties to this organisation first. While it is not required that a Forged choose one of the subfactions to join upon joining this faction, they must have sworn a vow to one of the Induk in order to obtain the rank of Centurion or higher. Nor will they be able to use any of the Froged powers without a diri companion to provide a connection to an Induk.
If you wish to become a Forged you must either:
A.) Request an existing Forged PC to initiate you within one of the available headquarters.
B.) Speak with a local Prophet about being initiated.
C.) Seasonal PC Initiation (Special): Each Forged has the ability to initiate one person a season into the same subfaction of the Forged even while not in the presence of their Induk. Each Forged is connected their Induk, so it is technically possible for them to reach out through existing Forged in order to initiate a new member in a pinch. However this is an uncomfortable process for the initiator. See each subfaction page for more details.
NOTE: Before any form of initiation you must register here as an applicant OOC and a moderator must approve the initiation attempt. This allows us to be aware of all of those being initiated so we can step in if we don't believe that the character in question would be suitable as a Forged.

Forged Ranks
Ranking up is done automatically. You must keep track of your points in your character sheet and we will strive to do so here as well. Once you have enough points you may begin learning your new ability.
0 Points - Principales: At this level the Forged is newly bonded to their Diri and knows little about their new organisation beyond that they have made a deal with the ancient Induk of Scalvoris. They gain the Reforged power and one subfaction power.
20 points - Primus Principales: Primus Principales are still considered as new members but have demonstrated some level of commitment to the Forged. They have proven that they are capable of protecting Scalvoris, and have shown an interest in discovering its secrets. They gain the Identify power and one subfaction power.
40 Points - Centurion: Centurions are proven multiple times that they have the determination to fight against any threat for the good of Scalvoris, and for their service the Induk reward them with a great deal of his trust. Centurions are entrusted with a great secret; one of the ancient history of Scalvoris itself. They gain the Lesser Incarnation power and one subfaction power.
60 Points - Primus Centurion: Primus Centurions are the captains of the Order of the Forged. They have proven that they will not only fight for the protection of Scalvoris, but are capable of leading others (whether they be members of the Forged or not) in the service of this goal as well. They gain the Limit Breaker power and one subfaction power.
80 Points - Legatus: The Legatus are the leaders of the Forged. Such is the Induk's trust in them that they will seek their council on the important decisions, and entrusts them with all the ancient secrets of Scalvoris. They gain the Greater Incarnation power and one subfaction power.
100 Points - Arch Legatus: If the Legatus are the leaders of the Forged, then the Arch Legatus are its greatest heroes. The Induk trust these people not just as capable partners but as personal friends, and as such grants them the authority to speak in his name and make decisions that on the actions the order of the Fireforged should take on his behalf. They gain the Unto The Breach power and one subfaction power.
Forged Abilities
0 Points:
Reforged: Forged are not named as they are for no reason. By accepting an Induk's deal their body is filled with their power and tempered by it, making it tougher than it was before. A Forged will find that their skin is like a leather armour and their bones like iron rods, making them more resistant to blunt physical damage.
0 Points: 1st Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.20 Points:
identify: As someone who has developed a close bond with a spirit themselves, the forged in partially connected to the spiritual realm. Not only can the forged see spirits of all kinds, but when they look upon a spirit they will recieve a fairly close, if not entirely accurate, impression of what that spirit's concept is. Please note that this is not a passive ability and must be activated by the Forged in order to work. Care should be taken not to overwhelm the senses, as spirits are everywhere in the world.
20 Points: 2nd Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.40 Points: Lesser Incarnation: The diri that accompanies a forged in the conduit to their power. Usually this diri cannot be seen except by other forged or those with the ability to see spirits, however with this ability the diri can temporarily take on the physical form of an animal no heavier that 4kg. They can maintain this phsycial form for 1 minute per point the forged posesses in the forged faction, and during this time can be seen by other physical beings and interact fully with the physical world. They still maintain their intelligence and mental bond to the forged, but cannot use any other forged powers while in this state. If the physical form is killed the diri will experience pain, but instantly return toi being a spirit. This form can possess basic abilities such as flight or sharp claws, but cannot possess any unusual or deadly features such as venom or magical abilities.
40 Points: 3rd Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.
60 Points: Limit Breaker: A tricky, but useful ability to have in a pinch. In agreeing to work together, the four Induk of the Forged have created a weak bond between themselves which is further shared between their servants. With this ability the forged is able to replicate an ability belonging to whichever subfactions of the forged that they themselves have not joined that they would have unlocked with their current level of forged points. However drawing the power of an induk they have not fully sworn themselves to carries its own consequences. After using the replicated ability, the forged will find their own bond with their diri temporarily severed for the same number of trials as the forged points needed to unlock the ability they replicated.
60 Points: 4th Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.
80 Points:
Greater Incarnation: Building on the Lesser Incarnation ability, the diri is now able to assume a physical form of much greater size. The diri can assume a physical form with a weight of up to 300kg.
80 Points: 5th Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.100 Points: Unto the Breach: An Arch Legatus is a mighty leader of the forged, and nowhere is this position reflected more keenly than in this power. Automatically taking effect whenever the forged is in a dangerous situation with other forged, the Arch Legatus establishes a psychic bond betwene themsleves and all other forged in the area no dissimilar from the bond between a forged an their diri. This bond will allow the Arch Legatus to communicate dfirectly with the forged and issue them commands, as well as see through their eyes and hear through their ears at will as long as the other forged allows it. Not only that, but the Arch Legatus will instictively know what instictive movements another forged they share a connection with will make and vice versa, allowing them to work as a perfectly synchronised team without any previous training or communication.
100 Points: 6th Subfaction Power: The ability granted here depends on which Induk the Forged has sworn their service to, and thus which subfaction they are a part of. Check the relevant subfaction page for details.
Diris and Diri Relationship
The relationship between the Forged and their Diri is one which is fundamental to the Forged. The Diri acts as a conduit to the Induk for the Forged ~ and as a conduit to the Forged for the Induk. As the relationship progresses, the Forged Diris can become more individual and this is achieved via Relationship.
Gaining Relationship Points
- The first Relationship Point is gained by the PC submitting a thread where they work, collaboratively, with their Diri on something "on theme" with the type of Forged the player is. This does not have to be a thread where Forged Points are gained (it often isn't) and should not be a thread where the PC and Diri are facing combat / an emergency. This is about the PC working with their Diri to understand what it means to both of them to be joined / Forged.
- Further Relationship Points are gained by the PC and the Diri building / growing their relationship. A few points are important to note here:
- Gaining relationship points gets progressively more difficult.
- Repeating behaviours will not gain repeating of points.
- RP Relationship Points require RP Role Play .
Relationship Levels
Because I'm mean like that - I'm going to "reveal" these as people earn them!
- 1 point: Friends: The Diri and the Forged are now "friends" and the Diri will often give little hints / thoughts. Mechanically, if you submit a thread for Forged Points, I will try and give you some advice from your Diri in the modnote, if appropriate.
- 3 points: Bonded: The Diri and the Forged now have a strong bond and the Diri will be prepared to "go the extra mile" for their Forged. Mechanically, this has 2 aspects:
- The Diri develops a unique ability which is roughly the level of a Favoured Ability from an Immortal Mark. This would be akin to one of the 3 "starter abilities" in an Immortal Mark and will be something that the Diri would see as a means of helping their Forged. This might be something which overcomes a weakness the Diri perceives the Forged as having, or it might be a means of protecting or assisting them. This must be submitted to the PSF and must include a justification for why the Diri would feel it helps the PC (some links would help!).
- When a Forged is at Primus Centurion or higher AND has a Diri relationship of Bonded, they can begin to communicate with the Induk through their Diri. At this level, the communication is controlled by the Diri and must be explored in order to test any further limits. It's not direct communication, but it's more an ability to sense what the Induk wants.
- 5 points: Merged: [Maximum 5 points unless Life / Death Forged - see abilities] At this point the diri and the Forged have an almost-symbiotic relationship. Mechanically, this has 2 aspects:
- The Diri's ability (from 3 points - Bonded) expands. This effectively means that it doubles in some aspect. That might be duration, damage, range, etc. If doubling is not possible, because of the power, then the PC should suggest an appropriate extension to the power. These should be approved in the Forged Tracking Thread.
- The Diri is now able to travel to literally anywhere on Idalos and maintain telepathic communication with the Forged. The Diri can't make themselves seen or heard to anyone who couldn't see or hear them, but it is a very useful communication tool.
- The Diri can share their Bonded ability with the Forged
Gaining Points and Ranking Up
Forged are those who have sworn to protect Scalvoris and uncover its mysteries. Any thread in which your character does this after becoming a Forged, whether on a mission assigned to them by one of the Induk or not, may be eligible for your character to receive points for. You may submit any thread here that you complete where you believe that your character is fulfilling the role of a Forged. Once you post the thread here it will be graded and you will be assigned points for the work your character has done. The riskier or more impactful the thread, the more points you will earn.
Collab Points: You will recieve an extra two points for a collaborative thread. Working with others is important and you should be rewarded for leading others in the defense of Scalvoris.
Induk Points: You will receive an extra two points for a thread with any one or more of the Scalvoris Induks.
