Ethelynda smiled at Xander when he spoke on his daughters etiquette. "Ah, it is a gift, that honesty and lack of fear. If all people, Mortal and Immortal both, spoke that way, the world would be a better place, I think." she said, before laughing slightly. "Certainly, it would make those who now vex you much easier to catch." she said, her tone showing her amusement, before she turned to look at Celeste as they talked about the condition she had been left in by Labrae's manipulations.
After a time, Terrwyn returned to the group, a fresh cut on one cheek. Ethelynda raised an eyebrow at her daughter, who shrugged. "Went to go check on Benji Anders. Found 'im tryin' to sneak out of his room, usin' the celebration as cover. When I caught him, he threw a vase at me, is how I got the cut." she said, earning another raised eyebrow from Ethelynda. "Don't worry, he didn't escape. I tackled him, turned one of his legs to stone and broke the other one in a few new places. After he passed out, I put him back in his bed. And then chained him to it. By his neck." she said, shrugging slightly. "So he's definitely not going anywhere now." Terrwyn looked supremely unconcerned about the extra damage she had inflicted on Benji Anders, though she then paused for a moment. "Oh, if it helps, I saw a mark on the underside of his arm. Looks like a scar at first glance, but it isn't. It's a brand you see on some of the more...primitive pirate ships. Given that he called me a "child of the usurping tyrants", I'd guess he's from the Etzos area." she said, before shrugging again.
Ethelynda paused at that information, then turned to Xander and smiled grimly. "As it so happens, the ones who have been causing you trouble have some influence in that area, from what I can gather. I doubt Etzos itself backed Benji or the Scarecrow, but you might have some luck looking for information in that area." she said, before shrugging slightly. "If you want to question Benji further, I'd suggest waiting a few days. He's likely to spend a few days in and out of unconsciousness." she said, before looking admonishingly at her youngest daughter. "Did you ever consider just knocking him out, Terrwyn?" she asked.
The sailor pondered the question for a moment, then shook here head. "Nope. Generally more practical to break something, in my experience." she said, her tone blunt before she looked at Xander. "If you want to go poking around Etzos for clues, better not to take the innocent and the helpless. As my mother said, your wife and children will be safe here, but we wouldn't be able to protect them from Etzos, and that place is full to the brim with trouble. Every time I went there in my sailing days, I wound up having to deal with pirates, smugglers, and the like." she said, her tone blunt.
