With information becoming available, some of these questions may already be answered. I will do my best to answer what I can, but there is still a lot of background development going on at this time. Please bear with me.
Aelune:
1) Do illusion-form Naer bleed?
- I have been considering this, and I believe that my clarifications to the Naer Race/Shadow Form will include a bleeding appearance. I am tossing around several ideas at this time including black blood (shadow essence), not bleeding, or illusionary bleeding much like the Yludih.
2) Can a Naer die in the dark if they are stabbed in the heart of their illusion form?
- At this time I do not have an answer. This is part of the racial clarifications that I will be generating information on. The more questions I have of this nature, the more clear I can be.
3) How long does it take for a Naer to step out of their illusion form and into their shadow form once immersed in total darkness? Does 'stepping out' leave their body illusion separate, or does the body 'become' the shadow?
- The body becomes the shadow. Transitioning from illusion to shadow takes mere seconds. It is the instantaneous bursts of life in complete darkness that becomes problematic. This will also become clearer as I define the Naer illusion traits and the Shadow Form.
4) How does Audrae personally feel about her followers worshiping other Immortals such as Aelig, Sintra, or Kielik?
5) How often is light used in Augiery, in areas where slaves are not typically present?
- An explanation of the light use can be found here. Despite the use of light in the Vice and Hive Sectors, Audrae has placed an enchantment over these sectors. Even non-tattooed Naer can walk safely due to her enchantment on the sectors themselves. The Underhive is in complete darkness and does not have an enchantment on it. This area provides Naer to be in their Shadow Form. Is there a possibility of a slave or other person using light? Yes. It is considered a crime it said person were to be caught.
6) If a Naerr can change the shape of their shadow form, is it common for them to reach over long distances to grasp objects with shadow tendrils, and to squeeze through narrow spaces as part of their natural day-to-day life? Assuming it's common for Naerr to live in total darkness. Or can they not grasp as shadows?
- I am in the process of working on a racial skill, similar to the racial skill Mertamorphosis, to further clarify the abilities of the Shadow Form. The basic Shadow Form as all Naer are innately born with is just a shadow; it cannot deal damage, pick up items, etc. I do believe the Shadow Form should be allowed to grow in strength, thus a skill will be applied to it.
7) Can Naer shadows slash things with their nails?
- At this time, they cannot. Further clarification in the racial skill write-up will come.
8) Are there illusion-forms constructed with modifications for war? Or can these be invented through Alchemy?
- Illusion forms just look like pretty women. I am not sure if I understand the "modifications for war" bit. An illusioned Naer would still have to wear armor, use weapons, etc.
9) How much light can a shadow-form Naer tolerate before their body begins to be obliterated? Are there certain kinds of light that don't hurt Naer available within Augiery?
- At this time, pretty much all light hurts the Naer including fire, sunlight, moonlight. This is why they have the tattoos. Further clarification in the racial skill write-up will come.
10) Are there materials in Augiery that can cut shadows?
- Not at this time. I have toyed with the idea, especially if the Shadow Form begins to grow in power as I plan it to be. Further clarification in the racial skill write-up will come.
11) Does Audrae take offense to her followers assisting Mortalborn, if doing so furthers her goals? Examples: Valtharn, Kielik. They aren't Immortals, and thus they are below her in rank. Aelune currently sees it this way.
- You can find that here. If aligned with her personal goals, she would be more lenient. Her mood is volatile, so her opinion could change instantaneously.
12) Do Naerikk get frostbite / hypothermia?
- I'll get back to you on that one. This is part of the racial clarifications that I will be generating information on. The more questions I have of this nature, the more clear I can be.
13) How difficult is it to learn to create Naerikk tattoos as a Naer born in Augiery?
- It's probably the same as being a regular tattoo artist except that you have to have some expertise in the Ancient Language and have access to ether infused materials. More to come since you brought up the tattooing aspect earlier this evening in chat.
14) If half-submerged in powerful shadow, such as below the waist-line or over one arm, can a Naer take a partial shadow form?
- Not at this time. This will probably not occur, but I will think on it. Further clarification in the racial skill write-up will come.
15) Are clouds covering the moon to plunge the sky into a dark blue glow usually enough darkness for a Naer, or do they need the sort of night that has total darkness, such as beneath an enormous storm?
- Total darkness is required at this time. I plan on having Shadow Form capabilities in dim light with mastery of the skill. Further clarification in the racial skill write-up will come.
16) Does the Audnev ability Shadow Bind allow a Naer to step into their Shadow Form for as long as the concealing shadow lasts, thus having the unique biology beneath the protective shadow?
- I need to talk with the developer team on this as I can see it both ways. As I was not the original writer of Audnev, I need to clarify the intent of this power. I'll get back to you on it.
17) Can a Naer be poisoned/can they consume regular drugs? I'm interested in hallucinogens and such for Aelune.
- Yes, they can consume regular drugs. I am sure they can be poisoned as well. Further clarification to come, but at this time assume it is fairly comparable to another race/mortal.
Adam:
1) As a prime example of being a USDA grade A man meat slave, do Naerikk get fierce about what they perceive as there property?
- They can. Especially if you are privately owned. My intent is to make private ownership of male PC slaves only available to female PCs. You cannot be owned by an NPC. There will be more information on that soon.
2) As an empath getting close to witch brands, I did want to know the punishments for a Naerikk harboring a slave with a domain. Or an inferior manling being found out to carry a spark.
- You may find that at the bottom of this post. I also touched base with you earlier on this. Knowing this, your PC would have to enter at their own risk as being found is potential penalty of death.
3) Can a Naerikk in shade form be fought via unarmed combat like wrestling and boxing?
- You would probably end up striking a wall or something hard. At this time, I wouldn't do it. Stay tuned on that based on the racial skill write-up I have planned.
4) Can Naerikk dispute who has what slave, like how do they deal with two Naerikk wanting the same trophy boy toy. It's clearly not about Adam saying he wants to be owned by the one with the nicest booty.
- The slave definitely doesn't have the choice. Sorry, you may get the one with the ugly booty. It would be entirely based upon either first-come-first serve basis. If two PC Mistresses really get into it, it might go to the wealthiest patroness. The city would be all about making the most money off you.
1} What happens if a lowly male catches a mark like Audnev?
- If you can get Audrae to mark you, you would be permitted to leave Augiery as a free man to do her bidding. No, you can't stay as it would go against the culture, but you would get to leave. That in itself would be a feat among men.
2} If Audnev is a favorable mark to possess that allows some freedom in Audreas abode, are there other marks a non Naerikk may possess to gain entry like Sesser? As it's mentioned Audrea has dealings with Syroa.
- The last global plot put Syroa on Audrae's naughty list. With few friends, Audrae probably does not think kindly of those blessed by other Immortals. On top of that, I am currently deciding the punishment for a slave being marked by another Immortal. Most likely, they would be escorted out of Augiery, granted their freedom, potentially hunted through Sarraski, and chased out of the South. Killing off the blessed of another Immortal would probably cause more damage to Augiery than desired, which is why exile is probably going to be the punishment. Still thinking.
As I mentioned above, there is still a lot of development going on. I wanted to answer what questions I could and inform you that I am constantly working to make Augiery and the Naerikk lore better for our writers. There are several other Prophets providing me a hand during the early stages of the release. Thank you for being patient with us.
