Situated in the Glass Quarter of Rharne, the Lady Libertine is an expensive, exclusive brothel where a lifestyle is on offer. Rich furnishings and a well stocked bar are adorned by beautiful women in various stages of undress. There is a lot of flesh on display and yet, while much is promised nothing is revealed.

With a range of prostitutes on offer, luxury items, snacks and alcohol, the Lady Libertine is the place to go for the discerning customer. It has a classy feel of luxury and a growing reputation for excellent quality and discretion. Should the customer wish it, there are prostitutes available to cater to a variety of predilections and tastes from the mundane to the exotic.

Appearance: Of human and biqaj descent, Theo is six foot and one inch tall with a medium and fit build. His hair is light brown, well groomed and worn short. He shaves regularly, but his beard appears to be in a consistent state of mid-trial shadow. In spite of a very poor upbringing, or maybe because of it, he tends to dress very well in the best he can afford. It would be easy for others to mistake him as completely human if not for the sometimes shifting color of his eyes, a trait which he inherited from his biqaj father. They are ordinarily a startling blue, a similar color to his mother's. But occasionally flecks of other colors may appear and dart through the field of blue, perhaps giving insight to what he may be thinking or feeling. At least to those who are familiar with the trait and have learned to interpret it.

Appearance: Clayton James is a man of mixed origins, Biqaj and Sev’ryn. He appears to be in his late thirties with black hair, dark eyes and an olive complexion. At five feet, eleven inches tall, he has a solid build. He’s fit and flexible, quick and strong. He’s often seen wearing suspenders and a bowler style hat. He’s always armed with a sword at his side, though it would be a mistake to think that it’s the only weapon he carries.

Personality: Clayton is an undeniable show off. He loves demonstrating his skills to any who are prepared to watch him. He has a cheeky disposition and is apparently a very charming man. That is on the surface, but in fact he has a deep well of determination and ambition. He is loyal, so long as that loyalty is repaid and he is very much of the opinion that he’s absolutely fine with the fact that people make mistakes, but he’s not prepared, or willing, to be messed around.

A handsome man, Clayton is an outrageous flirt but he takes it no further than that with the clients, taking his role with the girls he handles very seriously.

Appearance: Often are first impressions measured by appearance and Patrick is no exception, as he is plain as any other figure save for the difference in size to the average human. Those that do look upon him will easily notice the facial characteristics, those that may very well distinguish him different from the rest. Besides from being tall he is best described as fit in terms of musculature, his physique rather toned well but only just above the average folk. Upon spotting him no matter the distance brown hair coats the top of his head, often unkempt or shaggy unless he's taken the time for a particular style. Up close however where the features of his face are prominent, Patrick is no doubt a man with a strong jaw and sharp chin littered with facial hair. Hazel eyes that sometimes even variate between a soft green or pale blue, are often commented to be his more appealing or attractive feature to show. Normally as one who is seen everyday he tends to carry a suave if not confident sort of vibe, his own walk even carried in a stride some could easily match. When it comes to personal taste or a sense in fashion he is practical in choice, prone to choose clothing that is plain in whatever way possible; only serving purpose for whatever weather calls for.

A favourite with a few, select clients, Molly enjoys her notoriety amongst both clients and staff.

Personality: It isn’t so much that Molly enjoys inflicting pain, it’s that she has a talent for being able to dish out just the right amount depending on the client. Outside of work, Molly is well known for being a little laconic, a lot sarcastic but she’s fundamentally happy in her job and is willing to put up with what she sees as “unnecessary chitter-chat” in order to ensure that she is doing her job the best she can.

It isn’t so much that she’s rude, just more that she is very, very focused on what she’s doing. Like all of the girls in the Lady Libertine, Tessa is there out of choice; she has weighed up the options and this is the best way for her to achieve her long term goals. She is very clear about that with anyone who asks, but is equally closed about what those goals are.

The Turning Wheel Inn

The Lakeside Avenue is the first major street to branch away from the Pilgrim's Ascent as you enter the Glass Quarter. It's a mix of residential dwellings, private gardens and a few businesses.

The Turning Wheel stands at the end of a short bricklined plaza off Lakeside Avenue. It's a neat three story structure raised partially above the ground. The basement and the first story are dressed grey stone and probably date to the founding of the city. The upper two stories are built of timber and red painted bricks with a roof of grey slate tiles. There are windows trimmed with white visible in the upper stories and the second story even sports window boxes with trailing greenery and flowers.

The first floor of the building is a well kept tavern, complete with a rosewood bar and matching stools. There is also a small parlour available for private conversations. The interior is light and welcoming with walls half panelled and floored with maple wood. The furniture is mahogany. The second floor houses a private dining room for guests, the business offices for the innkeeper and a small library. The third floor is completely given over to rooms for guests.

The rooms are comfortable, understated, cosy and clean. They have maple flooring and are partially panelled with the same. The furniture is unfussy and mostly of walnut with the wardrobes made of cedarwood. The beds have good quality wool stuffed mattresses, and an upholstered back. The colour scheme is cream and dark green. Guests can ask for a bathtub with hot water set up inside the room for a small fee.

Two short wings extend back from the building's sides with one reserved as a private residence for the innkeeper's family and the other having additional chambers for its patrons. The first floor and the half basement of these is given over for spaces like a small communal bathhouse, storage, and other miscellaneous functions. The enclosed courtyard further leads to a charming yet functional cliffside garden. The view from here is amazing with the lake dominating the vista while the city falls away beneath in levels.

Target Clientele

The Turning Wheel straddles the worlds of the Earth and the Glass Quarter. The innkeeper Jemyr and his wife Saryu run a tight ship but it's not as expensive as The Flying Moon and is possibly as economical an option as possible in the luxurious Glass Quarter.

This makes it an extremely popular option for merchants travelling to and from Rharne. The location is also ideal, whether it be business with the Earth Quarter craftsmen or the more prosperous traders of the Glass Quarter.

Rooms

Standard Room : 2gn/night Includes a wool mattress bed with cream and dark green linen, a writing desk, two chairs, a bedside table, a vanity, a wardrobe, a fireplace, ensuite toilet, a small window, access to the inn bathhouse.
Premium chamber : 5gn/night Slightly bigger room than the standard. Includes a wool mattress bed with cream and dark green linen, a writing desk, two chairs, a woollen floor rug, a bedside table, a vanity, a wardrobe, a fireplace, ensuite toilet, access to shared porch/balcony overlooking the lake or the garden, access to the inn bathhouse.

Guests can ask to have a bathtub set up inside the room with hot water for a small fee.

Food

Hard Boiled Eggs: 2sn. Served with assorted fruit, butter, and barley bread.

Omelettes : 2sn. simple or with shredded greens mixed in, sweet or spiced varieties, served with assorted fruit, stormflower honey, and barley bread

Stew : 5sn Chicken/rabbit, vegetables and grain cereal cooked slowly with mild spices and butter, served with cheese and barley bread.

Smoked fresh trout fillets: 6sn cooked with lemon, butter, herbs and onions. Comes with side of roasted potatoes.

Pan fried sunfish : 6sn comes with a side of lentils and rice.

Roasted goose/duck: 8sn comes with a side of baked sweet potatoes, gravy and white bread

Roasted and Smoked Pork Spareribs: 8sn comes with sides of mashed potatoes, vegetable salad and sautéed mushrooms.

White Wines

Ashan’s Twilight 6sn per Glass 4gn per Bottle A wine low in alcohol that is cheap and popular. It has a pleasant taste and is grown, harvested, and vinted in the hottest parts of Idalos. Though it is mass produced most of the year, Ashan’s Twilight is a very widely respected wine.
Saun’s Heat 8sn per Glass 6gn per Bottle A spicy concoction made by the Biqaj and often kept by the barrel loads upon their ships. This is an aged, dry wine with a strong hint of flavour that goes great with seafood dishes.
Shimmering Koriel 12sn per Glass 9gn per Bottle The added flavours of pomelos and kumquats give this straw coloured, sweet, full-bodied wine its unique and delicious taste. Imported from areas of eastern Idalos, this wine is crafted and bottled every four arcs, making it hard to come by outside of the east.
Sparkling White2gn per Glass 13gn per Bottle Vibrant and bubbly in aroma and flavour, this sparkling wine is herbaceous, flavoursome, and will ensnare the senses with its hints of citrus and passionfruit.
Appiden 4gn per Glass 17gn per Bottle Rich and savoury flavours loaded with the aromas of intense, ripe pears and Ymiden apples.
Smof 8gn per Glass 26gn per Bottle A crowd favourite with ripe peach and aromatic flavours, make this one of the best mid-range wines in all of Idalos. Its subtle spices make this the perfect white wine for a cold day.
Queen 25gn per Glass 50gn per Bottle A strong wine with a sharp taste blended with hints of kiwi fruit, mangosteen, and lychee. This is known as the queen of wines, best served with a meal fit for a king.
White Diamond 40gn per Glass 100gn per Bottle A sweet wine best served cold, high in alcohol and far too easy to drink, this white wine tastes just like a high quality grape juice and has been describe as ‘the taste of Saun in a bottle’. Partnered well with fish.

Red Wines

Stone Creek 6sn per Glass 4gn per Bottle An inexpensive red wine from the city of Rharne with enticing aromas and flavours of wild blackcurrant with overtones of black pepper and spices best served with red meat, wild game, and stews.
Venora Rose 8sn per Glass 6gn per Bottle Imported all around the world from the sunny shores of Rynmere, Venora Rose is grown on the slopes of ‘Nora’s Rest’ where the vines get just the right mix of cool air and warm sunshine. This light, red rose is best served with Saun fruits and light meals.
Nanutha 3gn per Glass 15gn per Bottle Nanutha is a drink best served chilled. It is a drink with a high alcohol content that is bound to get even the most tolerant tipsy after a few glasses. This wine is meant as a dessert drink, with its intense notes of red fruits and herbal undertones. Some say this wine is a true serum.
Ruby Shav 13gn per Glass 35gn per Bottle This wine is both delectable in taste and appearance, giving off a very transparent shade of ruby red. Given at most celebrations, Ruby Shav has undertones of acai berry mixed with hints of orange and starfruit and is mostly produced and exported from Hiladrith.
Gyara 40gn per Glass 100gn per Bottle Gyara is a high class wine made by the citizens of Rharne. Its quality of smoothness coupled with its luxurious colour and blend make it a drink preferred by the upper class. The process to make the wine takes an extensive amount of time, making it one of the most expensive wines in the world. Kingdom

Stabling

Stabling isn't provided on the premises but the inn has arrangements with a good quality stable a short few levels down in the Earth Quarter.

Fighting Ring

The fighting ring is built in a part of the semi-basement area under the common room. The token given out is silver etched with a ship's wheel.

The Turning Wheel prefers fighters with great technique and fresh fighting styles, but will reward the winner even otherwise unless unfair means are suspected.

Jemyr is the ruggedly handsome, public face of The Turning Wheel. Though not overtly intimidating, he still gives off a casually dangerous vibe. This man may seem quite charming and debonair at first impression, but a keen mind hides behind his laughing eyes. Worldly enough to understand that folks may have motivations quite different from what they portray, he has a warmer private side to him that only his family and very close friends get to see.

Jemyr stands at 5'10” with a powerful, compact build. He's in great physical condition for his age and enjoys semi regular bouts with a few close friends of his. He's inherited the changeable eyes of the Biqaj and they can range from a warm hazel to green to a pale amber.

People say he was a trader at sea once, but Jemyr doesn't talk much about those times. Today he's a solid member of the city and his clan. He also occasionally makes a few careful investments in other upcoming businesses of the region.

Saryu is the quiet strength behind the success of the inn, you won't often find her in the more publicly accessible parts of the inn. She personally meets with most of the guests who take a room at the inn and within a short while will manage to figure out how to make them most comfortable during their stay. This is the reason most of the guests will keep coming back whenever they need to visit Rharne. However she'll not allow guests to abuse her hospitality and guests who bring violence or worse to her home will find themselves quietly blacklisted on their next visit.

Saryu's in charge of managing most personnel as well as day to day operations. She's a fair employer and is a good person to approach for those looking for employment at an inn. She's also a keen gardener and helps mange the inn finances.

At 5'6”, Saryu's fairly short for a Biqaj woman. Her hair's brown and black, cut short to jaw length so that the curls frame her face. She's slim enough for her age and is quick to smile. She favours wearing slim fitting dresses of good fabric and cut, with a few understated pieces of jewellery.

Appearance: The Zephyrus are large felines that sport a colorful coat, normally composed of blue, indigo, and streaks of fuchsia or scarlet along the neck. The males of this species boast an impressive mane that further accentuates their beautiful coloring. The females have a much less defined mane, normally consisting of a raised bit of scruff along the back of their necks, giving them a much sleeker look than their male counterparts. Notable to the Zephyrus are the presence of large saber-tooth fangs, these are largest in the males and seem to be used mostly for the purpose of impressing females and frighting off other male rivals. The females have much smaller but much more functional fangs as they are relied upon to hunt most of the food for the pride. Both genders possess long angular ears and powerful muscular bodies, along with long feathery tails. Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of these big cats is the presence of a single slender horn atop their foreheads. This horn is prized by poachers and alchemists alike as it is capable of generating an electric charge capable of stunning prey within close vicinity of the Zephyrus. This ability is not lost upon the death of the animal if the horn is harvested quickly and ground into a fine powder for use in reagents and potions.



Description: Native to the Stormlands of Rharne, these big cats primarily live in small prides that roam large swathes of territory. The males are especially territorial and protective of their females and young. Typically each pride possess a single alpha male Zephyrus and a harem of females along with their cubs. Males unaffiliated with a pride tend to roam the Stormlands alone until they are able to uproot an existing alpha male from his position. These lone males are incredibly dangerous as they will attack nearly anything that approaches them, including other animals. The females of this species serve as the hunters of the pride, providing food for their single alpha male and their cubs. Most notable of the Zephyrus is that these beasts are used as mounts by certain members of the Lightening Knights and Thunder Priestesses of Rharne. Because of their impressive strength, size and the abilities they are incredibly prized by these two powerful factions. Due to their rarity and the danger associated with capturing a cub, the taming, capture or killing of a Zephyrus is utterly forbidden outside their use among the Lightening Knights and Thunder Priestesses. In order to attain one of these mounts a cub must be found and taken from it's mother in the wild. This must be done while the feline is very young so that they can properly bond with their rider. Once the bond is cemented, a trained Zephyrus rarely allows anyone other than their rider on their backs. These creatures seems to become very protective once properly bonded with an individual, to the point that they will fight to the death to protect their rider.

Additional Information: For the Zephyrus to be trained as a mount, the rider must spend a great deal of time with the creature to fully develop the bond between them. This can take up to several seasons before the feline is ready to be ridden into combat or used as a mode of travel. Travel with the use of a Zephyrus can be achieved at near to the speed of a horse, although they cannot travel for great lengths of time before needing rest. This lack of endurance is made up by their impressive abilities in combat, with their fangs, claws and horn they can destroy an unprepared enemy with ease. Additionally these beasts possess a robust resistance to lightning, as any incoming electrical energy is simply absorbed into their horn, much like a lightning rod.

Name: Veshla

Appearance:The Veshla are a common, semi-aquatic drake often seen along the shores of Lake Lovalus. These creatures are roughly the size of a large dog,at least until their long fish-like tails and lengthy elegant necks are taken into account. With beautiful gleaming indigo or cobalt scales the Veshla are often a sight to behold. They posses a narrow snout, with fish-like feelers at the base of their chin and four glittering blue eyes. Ridges of scales mark the area above their eyes and around their nostrils. These animals do indeed breathe air rather than use gills so they are often seen emerging on the surface of the lake for a few moments before diving back down to the depths. The Veshla's four legs are somewhat short but they do posses webbed feet that end in pointed curving claws that they use to clasp their struggling prey. Their mouth is full of dozens of needle-like razor sharp teeth that are excellent at capturing passing fish. One of most notable traits of the Veshla is it's lengthy tail, with beautiful wide horizontal flukes and a central ridge of scales this beast is able to become a graceful acrobat when in the water. Perhaps what they are best know for are their bioluminescent markings that are best seen at night. Their eyes, nostrils and scales along their backs light up during the dark breaks of the trial. They can often be seen at night, hunting in the darkened waters of the lake

Description: Veshla are rather numerous within Lake Lovalus, although they can appear from time to time in other bodies of fresh water near Rharne. These are solo hunters, only joining together to hunt when there is a large school of fish that merits the attention of so many predators. Breeding is accomplished once an arc during Vhalar when males and females alike return to shore for at least a week to choose their mates. The males spend much of this time attempting to attract a female by utilizing bioluminescent displays at dusk and quarreling with other males during the brighter, earlier breaks. The Veshla greatly ignore the presence of mortals, aside from frequenting popular locations used by fishing vessels in the hope of catching an easy meal. Locals know to give these aquatic creatures their space, as the Veshla are quick to lash out if they feel they are threatened.

Additional Information: The bioluminescent properties of the Veshla's hide is treasured by chemists and alchemists alike. When these animals are killed or meet a natural end, their hides will be taken to be used in chemical and alchemic ingredients. From time to time seamstresses will use the glowing parts of a Veshla's hide to embellish clothing. It is not uncommon to see luminescent embroidery on clothing made locally in Rharne. These creatures are also most active at twilight and at dawn.

Name: Fenrix
Height: 1.5 to 2 ft

Length: 2 – 3 ft

Weight: 20 – 30lbs

Appearance: The Fenrix are elegant winged creatures with bright colorful plumage, often being cobalt blue, violet, or fuchsia along the wings; paired with either black, gray, and very rarely white fur. They sport sleek bodies similar to that of a fox along with long arching necks and heads with large pointed ears. The Fexrix’s legs are equally lithe, ending in tiny claws that aid them in climbing. Their teeth are small and unassuming as most of their diet relies upon snapping insects out of the air or lapping up the nectar from flowers. The tail of a Fenrix is a fairly short, with a mixture of downy plumage and fur that the males often used to attract females. With the face of a fox, paired with inquisitive blue or purple eyes it is evident upon an onlooker’s first encounter with these creatures that they intelligent and curious.

Description: In the wild the Fenrix live in the Ywyngyll Forest, often taking up residence in treetops where they hunt insects and occasionally seek out nectar from flowering plants. Fenrixes have rather long tongues to aid them in finding nectar and lapping up insects. They are very sociable amongst each other which has led them to be widely adopted as a popular pet in Rharne. These creatures are playful and inquisitive, bonding well with mortals if they are adopted at a young age. In the wild a Fenrix family unit normally includes the parents, grandparents and one to two generations of young that all hunt and live in the canopy of the Ywyngyll forest together. They easily live to be roughly twenty arcs of age, remaining lively and spry up until around their eighteenth arc. They can live a bit longer in captivity if they are well cared for. Fenrixes are now also bred in captivity to satisfy their growing popularity as companions and house pets, allowing breeders to create members of the species with novel colorings and patterns that are not normally seen in the wild.

Additional Information: These creatures are a common sight among the citizens of Rharne, often seen perching on the shoulders of their owners in public places. Normally a pet Fenrix is equipped with a long leash or harness to give them a bit of freedom to fly when not being held or petted. Depending on their coloring, Fenrixes can cost anywhere from 20GN to 100GN. Novel coats developed through selective breeding will always be more expensive than the more common colors.

Isle Vyrelle

Isle Vyrelle rests in Lake Lovalus, off to the side, but within sight of the city of Rharne. The island is fairly large, and includes the expansive Feldwyn Forest that covers the majority of the island along with several impressive yet beautiful stone plateaus. The Isle does not contain any villages or settlements as folklore surrounding the island tends to ward off most people. Tourists and hikers are not uncommon but rarely does anyone remain on the Isle after sundown due to superstition. Tales tell of people disappearing after venturing to the island.

An old rhyme is often whispered by local children when telling stories of the island’s origins, the short poem containing a warning to any who walk on the shores of the island after nightfall. The rhyme promises freedom to those who journey to the island but there is also a warning hidden in the words
To those who wish for freedom
To choose thine own path
Come find me in the water
Where trees and light do meet
--------------------------------
But, if upon my shores, you walk
To seek those whose wish is to be lost
Thy mortal soul shall balk
When moonlight touches thy skin
Origins and Story
Myths tell of a time long ago; of a young woman named Vyrelle, who was both beautiful and clever. She was sought after by every man who laid eyes upon her, for all wished for her hand in marriage and to claim her as their own. Vyrelle cared not for the idea of a husband; she craved her freedom, wishing to spend her trials swimming in the bright blue waters of the lake or sleeping on the warm sandy shore. It was not long after her suitors began their pursuit that she was soon forced into marriage by her father. Vryelle begged to be allowed to remain a carefree maiden for a bit longer, but her father would hear none of it. A wedding was to be held and she would be the bride.

The night before the wedding, under a veil of moonlight the maiden swam into Lake Lovalus to have a moment of solitude. There she begged anyone, be they Immortal or spirit with a kind heart to relieve her suffering and to take her to a place where she would be undisturbed by the world and free to do as she wished forever.

It is rumored that the man who was soon to be Vyrelle’s husband followed her to the lake and watched from shore as she swam. According to tales of his account, his bride suddenly disappeared from the soft waves in a ripple of moonlight, a look of happiness and contentment on her face as she vanished. The groom dashed into the lake, swimming out to find his lost bride and caught sight of a mysterious island cloaked in mist in the distance. On the shore of this isle stood the silvery radiant form of a young female deer. The creature seemed to look at him for a moment in recognition before joyfully cantering into the trees without looking back.

Feldwyn Forest: This small island bound forest is found at the heart of Isle Vyrelle. Filled with beautiful arching elms, willows, and beech trees, the forest is made all the more beautiful by its unique bioluminescence. Many creatures near Rharne along with some species of flora seem to have somehow taken on the bright violet, soft green or starry blue light of a lightning bolt, as if the power of the Immortal Ilaren has begun to permeate the land and its creatures. This phenomenon is most visible on Isle Vyrelle; the light produced by the forest can even be seen from the city’s shoreline on clear nights. Soft pulses of purple and blue emanate from fungi and leaves and while the waterways within the forest gleam with an ethereal blue light. So few people have spent the night on the island and returned the following day, there is a great deal of mystery surrounding the forest. It is said that those who venture to the heart of the secluded forest on the night of a full moon, seeking freedom and solitude will be granted Vyrelle’s Gift. It is not understood what the nature of this gift is; some say it is riches, others say it is some powerful artifact but regardless, many desire it; especially visitors that do not share the local’s wariness of the island. Many go missing every arc after leading an expedition into the forest and yet more and more return every year seeking out the precious Gift.

The Heartmourn : Rumored to prowl the length of Isle Vyrelle is the Heartmourn, a loathsome creature who will attack and kill any mortal he encounters. It is said that the great lumbering beast has existed since the birth of the island, forced to serve as it’s guardian over the arcs. Standing at over fifteen feet tall with bark covered skin and an antlered head the Heartmourn is a frightful sight. At the center of its chest rests its namesake; an exposed heart that was long since turned to crystal due to some frightful curse. Some wild tales suggest that removing his heart and spiriting it away from the shores of Isle Vryelle will break the wretched curse placed on the creature.

Name: Dusk Grapes

Appearance: A sturdy climbing grape vine that produces beautiful azure blue fruit that are often used in Rharne to create a signature wine. The bright green vine can grow up to seven feet in height and puts on silvery gray thorns that can easily injure an inattentive harvester. The grapes themselves are slightly larger than other more common species, being anywhere from an inch to two inches in diameter.

Description: Common to the Stormlands in the wild, Dusk Grapes are more commonly seen within the boundaries of local vineyards. The fruit has a sweet delicate flavor that is favored for use in winemaking or simply for eating raw. The vine will produce fruit throughout the warmer months before going dormant when the first frost sets in.

Level of Danger:Low

Special Properties: Used in winemaking and can only be grown successfully in the Storm Lands. Hybrid varieties are seen growing outside Rharne, but none possess the unique rich color of the locally grown fruit.

Description: Starlight Wine is a popular beverage widely enjoyed by the citizens of Rharne. The wine is made from Dusk Grapes that commonly grow in the nearby Stormlands. This wine possesses a transparent but deep indigo color, bearing somewhat iridescent and mirror-like qualities that cause a glass of Starlight to reflect its surroundings in full color when placed in the correct light. The flavor of this beverage reflects the sweet delicate taste of the grapes used in its making along with flavors of plums and pears. With its bright fruity flavor covering its rather high alcoholic content, Starlight Wine is made especially popular at parties and celebrations. It is rather easy to become very inebriated after more than one glass.

Rosmerta Winery

Rosemerta Winery has been a household name within Rharne for over forty arcs. The Winery produces a variety of popular local wines while specializing in the production of Starlight Wine. Set on nearly fifty acers of land the property is largely used to house the impressive vineyard and barn along with a luxury lodge and separately housed indoor pool and spa for guests.

The vineyard takes up nearly forty acres and is filled with rows upon rows of carefully manicured grape vines. Dusk grapes are especially prevalent in the vineyard as the winery specializes in the production of the iridescent deep blue Starlight wine; a specialty drink of Rharne. There is a well tended bricked path that wraps around the vineyard with simple dirt paths between the rows of plants. The brick path is often used by guests for quiet walks in the morning or evening. There is a large wooden barn near the lodge where harvested grapes are stored before being crushed so their liquid can be placed in oaken barrels to age.

The Rosmerta Lodge hosts six private suites that can be rented nightly by visitors staying at the winery to indulge in a little rest and relaxation. At minimum the suites contain a spacious bedroom, complimented with a canopy bed and accompanying furniture, along with a den, and bathroom. Rooms vary in price depending on their size and amenities.

The on-site spa rests in a separate but similarly styled wooden structure to the west of the lodge. The spa contains a large communal swimming pool along with small private rooms that are used to host massage sessions.

Wine tastings are scheduled every trial within the Lodge, these events take place at the public bar residing within the lobby of the building. Visitors may order drinks and attend the evening wine tasting even if they are not residing at the lodge for the night. A handful of elegant tables are arrayed around the bar where discerning customers often come to unwind over a glass of Rosmerta-made wine. There is always a roaring fireplace along with a musician or two frequenting the establishment to keep drinkers entertained and at ease. Some food is available at the bar, though the fare is kept simple; artisanal meats, cheeses and fruits are readily available for a modest price.

The youngest daughter of the Rosmerta family, Strelza serves most nights as a bartender in the lobby of her family’s lodge. She entertains guests and serves wines made locally at the Winery. In the mornings she can be seen around the property helping with the production of wine and directing workers as needed. She is a cheerful and flirty individual, at times utilizing her seductive prowess on the male patrons in order to pry mas many nels out of them before the night is over.
Strelza is a true beauty, with deep red locks, a curvaceous figure and bright green eyes lined in dark lashes. She chooses to garb herself in revealing dresses at night when tending the bar but wears more comfortable clothes during the earlier breaks of the trial when she helps tend to the vineyard.

Merdia Rosmerta

The eldest of the Rosmerta sisters, Merdia serves as the host for the Lodge along with taking a position as a masseuse at the nearby spa. The young woman, while comely is nothing compared to her dazzlingly beautiful sister. Merdia is somewhat short, with wavy brunette locks and soft brown eyes. There is a quiet intelligence to her, a look in her eyes that suggestes that she always has something on her mind.
Merdia is far more stoic and responsible that her overly cheerful sister. After the death of their parents some arcs before, Merdia took over the business and began managing the affairs of the Winery herself. While well meaning she can sometimes come off as a little cold, especially around her lackadaisical sister.

Callen Willhelm

Callen is a fairly pleasant old man although he can be a bit prickly at times when being bothered while at his work. He is of average height with chestnut brown eyes and thinning gray hair. Callen has been with the Rosmerta Winery for nearly forty arcs. He is in charge of managing the vineyard staff and the production of the wine itself. Since the death of Strelza and Merdia's parents some arcs ago he took the lead in ensuring that the high standards of the winery are adhered too.

Name: Ilaren's Cap

Appearance: Ilaren's Cap presents at maturity as a blue, bio-luminescent mushroom, from stem to the entirety of the cap. Their spores fall from little tendrils beneath the caps that resemble blue lightning bolts. Hence the name.

Description: Ilaren's Cap is commonly thought to be useless by laymen, despite its scarcity and brevity of its life cycle. For whatever reasons, certain mystics that revere Ilaren hold the mushrooms and their spores as sacred. The effect of the spores is a closely guarded secret by these mystics.

The spores can only bloom on the banks of the Isle of Vyrelle, and then will only germinate on lake-ice during the coldest days of Cylus.

Frequency: Extremely rare.

Level of Danger: High

Special Properties: The mushrooms in their natural state are inert, and strangely wither and melt into nothing when exposed to sunlight. The spores, however, can be contained in an airtight container, and then cultivated in darkness. They will not bloom in any other season other than Cylus, and never in captivity. The mushrooms, when harvested properly (During Cylus and otherwise kept out of sunlight.) can be processed chemically to create an anti-coagulant agent.

The spores have a mild hallucinegenic effect on those who snort them, which grant strangely mundane visions of people that the user knows, giving them various samples of sound advice. They can be distilled to make potions that, when imbibed, afflict the drinker with a certain susceptibility to suggestion. Any other method of ingestion of the spores will cause an inexplicable case of pneumonia.

Additional Information: Most of the effects of this mushroom will need to be learned of from the mystics who are privy to its secrets.
