Creativity Abounds!

After a brief discussion on discord with Pegasus, decided it’d be a neat idea to have a forum thread where, if you want to, you can share some stuff from your more creative side. I’ll be sharing some poetry. Hope you all enjoy! :)

This one is called Beyond the Shores of Friendship

I am having a crisis of faith
My closest confidant is my enemy
What I thought was love slips by like a wraith

Why must my soul be torn
Between two worlds, two lives
I was a better man, or so I'd sworn

Till my faith passed my lips
Unto bated breath for another
I find now my heart it slips

This confusion I find is clawing
Tearing apart who I thought I was
Now my future lies uncertain, sprawling.

But how does one tell, the one they loved
That things have changed
That my heart no longer is closed

In poem it seems so simple to say
That my heart isn't with you
So sad I am, to my dismay

For when I set foot upon foreign shores
I thought for certain it was just for fun
Till primal urge turned and I became a whore

Though not have my hands touched else but a face
I feel that my mind has surely traced
The figure of her body, those garments of lace

For I know now what drives man
To lust, to cheat, to lie.
Tear all that they have asunder, woman.

Just one thing can turn the noble on end
Under that guise our will it will bend
And then we crawl back hoping to amend
But on our way you shall surely send
So I ask you now, please your hand will you lend?
As I ask you what I should do, do I tell my friend?
This urge it surely tears my soul, it rends,
And all my life will certainly come to an end.

For I have stepped beyond just friendship’s bound
My heart it beats with such a heavy sound
For I think in this new, another love I have found

Even if initially we never meant it to happen...I have stepped out beyond where friendship bounds and here I know a new love I have found.

So in this dance of dangerous tactics
Where we hide ourselves from the world
I feel as though this will become climactic

What are we anyways? What is this?
A name I strain to attach to this confusing thing
Yet I stand toe to toe in harmony and bliss

Not a care in the world while pressed to your body
The heat of the moment burning all else away
Our interactions safely I would cal bawdy

I’ll give you a moment to grab that big book
A dictionary, inside you will look
For new words upon your soul hath shook

But much like the fire that burns inside
My soul is filled with a sense of pride
You next to me I hope you’ll abide
For my vocabulary grows much like the manhood on which you ride

Pretty sure that was just a dream
It felt real though especially when you screamed
Are you sensing a theme? I mean..
Yeah so it seems that in my mind I’ve gleamed
That the two of us met at our seams
And the pleasure was utmost extreme

For I have stepped beyond just friendship’s bound
My heart it beats with such a heavy sound
For I think in this new, another love I have found

But I digress from that which stands in front of me
A succulent beauty that just won’t leave
My dreams and thoughts are plagued don’t you see?

A craving so powerful, so strong
There’s no way that this can be wrong
So in your arms I’ll stay for I belong

Keep me your secret keep me your dark
Together upon this journey we embark
Loves arrow is twisted but it found its mark

For I’ve been bitten by love right under the nose
And it seems so simple to spill my heart in prose
Even though my mind might be tossed and turned in woes
The words like river from my mind to my tongue do they flow

So I’ll speak it once more
Upon this foreign shore
It is you I adore.

For I have stepped beyond just friendship’s bound
My heart it beats with such a heavy sound
For I think in this new, another love I have found

One of my characters I play started some dangerous flirting while married to someone else...inspired this

The Gatewatcher's Nightmare

Time for another one!

One soldier, standing alone at the gate,
The one that holds the key to the city's fate,
He waits, while the rest of the city sleeps,
He knows his enemies are close, they creep.

One soldier, standing alone at the gate,
A simple job, which he doesn't hate.
He stands alone, hoping no one can see his fear,
He knows that he must fight soon, for his enemies are near.

He stands to protect the weak,
He stands to protect the meek.
When the enemies come forth,
He raises his sword.

One soldier standing alone at the gate.
The one that holds the key to the city's fate.
His city, burning to ashes, his enemies don't care,
This is the Gatewatcher's Nightmare!

The Gatewatcher's Nightmare, this shall stand correct,
Is he strong enough, will he be able to protect?
These are the thoughts that flow through his mind,
Do you think that he alone can stop his enemies in time?

He never truly doubts, his ability.
In the cold truth of reality,
There has never been an enemy able to stand
Against that power of the Gatewatcher's hand.

A Monster Hunter's World

Was playing Monster Hunter World at release earlier this year and was inspired to write something for the 200 some odd hours I poured into it over like two months...this was the result.

It's a monster hunter world and this is our life
To bring down the elder dragons that cause the New World strife

We begin in a town by the name of Astera
Astera, did you hear it? Do I need to speak it clearer?

We are the Fivers and we will fight this war
Against wyverns, dragons and more

So sit back and listen to our story
And let me sing the fivers some glory

Off to the Ancient Forest where Anjanath doth roam
Rathalos also calls this place home.

From our first fight with Great Jagras
To the last with that stupid bomber's ass

We traverse this here forest to bring glory and fame
To the uninitiated hunters, and the others without name

Remember to bring those potions, they'll save your skin
Because I swear to the gods if you cart once again

I'll be the one to come throw you off a cliff
Make you end up back at camp. See my emotions are now miffed.

Back on track and moving on
The Wildspire Wastes is next in this song

Mudflats, Caves, and barren desert pits
This here Wastes have all of it!

Our first foe, Barroth, giant rock mud creature
The tail, or maybe head, are its most dangerous feature

From the valley to the sand pit we fight hard
Next thing we know Diablos is throwing in his cards

Two monstrous creatures gnawing and clashing
I'll stand back here and keep on singing and dooting

Playing up some tunes to keep my friends protected
The Hunter's Horn is best at keeping defenses erected

Next to the Highlands of coral we go
To hunt a few more creatures with exotic flow

Once we've bounded across sky bound mushrooms
It's down to the veil; hopefully we don't swoon

That most putrid and foul smelling place of decay
A doggo and rolling bone thing want to play

Your life they will seek
So wit you should keep

Preparation and study, learn these creatures habits
And don't forget to catch for your house, a rabbit!

Re: Creativity Abounds!

Alright, it's been a while and I got nostalgic while reading over some of my older written stuff. I'll share a couple tonight.

This is entitled #Burgers
The meat that starts from a simple thing,
A cow grazing in a field minding its own,
Sent to the slaughter, it's insides to strings,
Packaged up for us to take home.

A little bit of seasoning and spice,
Some egg to hold it all up tight,
This is starting to really sound nice
Like when the patty hits the heat just right.

A sizzle and a spit, the heat and aroma
Course through the air assaulting the senses,
You know what'd be good? A corona.
Now back to the burger before I break fences.

The meat now done, temperature perfect.
Let's grab some condiments and toppings.
Little bit of ketchup, mustard, just don't over do it.
Man the flavor on this things gonna be popping.

Lettuce to add that nice bit of crunch,
Maybe an egg, for that salty sweet touch?
Tomato and pickle added to the bunch,
Take that first bite...man there's so much....

Flavor.

Let's move on to something a bit...darker. I started with light humor because...well honestly that's probably one of my favorite poems.

This is called A Universal Truth

Pain is a universal truth. Something everyone knows.
Nerve endings fire signals to your brain that, through your body flows.
It's not the same for everyone. No two people feel the same.
Some will try to convince you, but their stories aren't sane.

A stub of a toe to the darkest of tragedy
Pain is normalicies simplistic remedy
A prescription prescribed by the cosmos
Dealt out on fated hands held close.

Cynical. Crazy. Why dwell on this subject?
Very few universal truths are treated like rejects.
Pain is a language that we all can speak
And through it, understanding we seek.

Why do we have to be made to suffer?
As if someone needed to make life tougher.
Emotional and physical strife
A highway in hell is apart of life.

Am I hurt or bent on destruction?
My brains hell bent on poetic devotion.
No subject to sacred, no cause to small
To give my voice meaning, it'll answer the call.

Be the voice that the voiceless can turn to
Don't settle for less when others need you.
Shout out loud and make your voice ring true
Be that bravery the world needs, always be you.

Lastly, In My Mind

In my mind
I hide behind
A mask of uncertainty.

There comes a time
When I wish to find
A world of possibility

But yet it seems
Darkness prevails my dreams
And alone I am forced to walk

Comfort of any means
Would tear the darkness at it seams
And then my mind can talk.

But what would one long hidden
Wish to say to those unbidden?
A decade of darkness long held close.

But of these feelings I wish to be ridden
Alone no more for I swear I didn't
Keep these feelings close to heart so that I might feel it's woes

So that's those. Again, feel free to add in your own works, or ask questions or whatever. It's kinda quiet here, but that's okay. I tend to talk to myself a lot anyways.

a short poem about standing still in the aisle of an auto repair shop.

tires

how long has it been for someone who doesn't count in days,
who doesn't know what day it is /
standing in a bright place
is this the last time and then i can't /
days are years are years are years and i am still. /
we paint the walls and the walls dry grey
like a prison she says and i say yes,
like a bright place here with the smell of tires
and there i stand in the aisle /
me with the walls and the cars
i've not moved /
we, and nothing but silver between us. /

Re: Creativity Abounds!

Something in the brain never stops never stays
Lying on the ground leaving only a stain
But you bite to hold back to try and refrain
Before the vile spews forth like a speeding train

They say take a picture the moment’ll last longer
Then jump to social media to quote and ponder
Greater minds that decided to do something more
Then wonder which of us looked more like a whore

We hide behind fraudulent facsimiles
Not the true ones we pretend to be
So we pour out emotion we beg we plea
To thousands of strangers who killed the real me

A mask in the dark is the only real truth
So I ask you now where is the proof
That this life is a lie, a falsehood of freedom
Look down at my hands bruised and bleedin
Turn my eyes inward and see that I’m screamin

We live in a world of white faced masks
Where the media stores heartfelt stories in casks
And bleeds the brainless with their pointless, useless tasks
And in the clicks and likes our facetiousness basks.

Re: Creativity Abounds!

Brightest day
darkest night
I can feel a hidden light
As above
So below
As you ask so you shall know
Silver laughter
Golden tears
Strike away your darkest fears

Circles within circles
Snakes with blood red tongues
From alchemy life ever lasting can be wrung
Pure becomes impure
becomes the pure again
So heed the words of this song
Find the hidden meaning
It won't be long
It won't be long

Moon and sun
Lead and gold
Find the answer between body and soul
As above
So below
As you ask so you shall know
Sulfur soul
Mercury mind
The body is salt and so you shall find
It won't be long
It won't be long
