The Gauthrel Plains reach from the coasts of western Idalos to the very edge of Ne'haer before meeting the forests surrounding Hiladrith. The Fields of Gauthrel can be a dangerous place, one that is home to the most deadliest of creatures. It holds many secrets in the history of the land and may offer rewards to those who choose to journey out into the wild plains. It is best not to wander out alone in these fields. Even caravans have been known to go missing.
We're starting a little something different, somewhat in the spirit of the NaNoWriMo, since we're a writing site it seems appropriate to take the opportunity to motivate each other to have some fun and earn some medals by starting and completing...

So, one of the things that has changed in the new site is that the new PSF is visible to everyone. This provides us an opportunity and so, this morning I've created some subforums in there - for completed / approved threads....

Fridgar was on his way searching for the long grass. Him and Alistair were camping and needed to get a hold of some long narrow materials with which to craft rope... or string... or anything strong and string-like! Building shelter was harder than it looked and already the pair...
The Lothar had travelled the whole journey to the eastern territories in his loincloth. Alistair hadn't complained about his new choice of fashion just yet and it was constantly hot out. What was a man of Fridgar's stature and confidence to do? They passed through plains, vast...
It has come to my attention that Ren Norendel , the son of Demavend Norendel (my superior and liege), has become plagued by a particular illness that has wracked his mind and caused a monstrous rift within his life at home....

Kaer Jeger
Kaer Jeger. A magnificent structure, considering it was built in the middle of the world’s most dangerous place. The outside wasn’t very pleasing to the boy’s eye, but the inside, the inside was beautifully...
Fridgar wandered in bear form, it was superior for transportation. His paws would not tire as fast, though he didn't know why. Perhaps it was because he had four on the ground at once? Whatever the case, he had a mission to accomplish. He'd managed to drag Aeon into some hunting...
It was officially his second trial back in Uthaldria. Six arcs, it had been six arcs since he'd been home in Nordhoff, he still wasn't there, but he was closer than he'd been in a very long time. The night prior, he'd stayed up, learning Haltunga with Alistair and Kaiserion. For...
It was later that afternoon, the sun was highest in the sky. Fridgar picked himself up off the floor and dragged the two Scythons through the forest with him after refilling on water. His sixth sense had been at the forefront of his mind the entire time, keeping an eye on Alistair...
It was far later that trial, it was dark all around. He had only his natural night vision and the light of the full moon to light the landscape for his weary eyes as he sat against the trunk of the tree, still holding Alistair, his beloved. it had been a long trial, and an even...
He held the human in his arms, pressing their bodies together beneath the sheets. Two trials were far too long apart, Fridgar had needed this... recharge session... and he'd needed it for some time. He'd been stuck as a Trachadon for... quite a while, and before that he was a bear. This was his...
A great fire raged. People screamed in shrill tongues, but for excitement rather than fear. Vindarnas, Vindarnas, Vindarnas, so many of them chanted. Vindarnas? The mage did not know what that was.
Vindarnas, a large man yelled, wearing that of strips of leather and furs...
They arrived in the night. It was a long journey to the south of Shirnrad, and Alistair had not yet mapped out the Jarldoms that surrounded the city. The path to the agricultural hub had been fairly peaceful and orderly, surprising of the region they were frequenting. While...
He was angry. Fridgar, at first. And then Alistair. They'd left the city and traveled down south, and yet in all that time, Alistair never spoke. He spoke minimally, one word answers, not making eye contact with his mate. He was enraged. His nails were...
It had been a long time flying, from the northern reaches of Lysoria to the realms of Gauthrel. Kaiserion carried upon his back both the mage and his beloved mate, and due to the combined weight of the two, needed to stop frequently. During their time traveling, they'd...
Last night, he received a letter. It came swiftly, a dead crow knocking at his window with its beak, eyes nearly falling out of its socket. In its fragile, dead talons, it dropped a roll of parchment with a black seal in the shape of a symbol - one he knew to be the symbol...
Fridgar was knelt over the mauled body of the beast, dripping blood from his now sated maw. Fridgar sighed, looking over the destroyed carcass of the Scython. A hazy sigh left his moist maw as he relished in the crimson life force of his fresh kill, satisfied beyond words. Yes....
Fridgar stood opposite his opponent with his massive axe at the ready. The pole was almost as long as he was tall, sporting a massive blade of standard quality steel on one of the ends. His eyes glared intently at the eyes of his opponent as he tried, failed and tried this...
The Lothar's wrists still hurt from the rope burn he suffered on the way here, if he'd removed it as soon as he'd snapped it, maybe it wouldn't have gotten so bad. Red bands of dried skin as well as small dots of red coated his wrists, heralding the soreness of the skin. There was...
The pair had travelled far, laying together, bound and unconscious on the back of a cart. Bags had also been cast over their heads in case they were to wake up during the transportation to where the trial would be taking place. The human, Alistair, had attempted the trial before...

One time after another, the boy jumped from one rock to another. It was like some game, and the biqaj followed him every time, barely scratching him with the edges of his spear. The water below was chaotic, and it...
Scorpion Strike. He knew this. Quickly and stunningly strike the foe's weapon from beneath or above, using the advantage of surprise and the force of your muscles to disarm them in an incredibly quick maneuver. Shadow Sweep, a fundamental - he knew this too. After dodging,...
Void, the master commanded. His apprentice - Alistair - stepped aside, throwing his feet back and narrowly dodging the spear. Do you remember what Voiding is? the man asked, jabbing the Venora with a rapid strike from the butt end of his spear. Clearly not, he stated,...
Alistair of the Northern Realms, he shouted, we call you to face a trial of blood and bone; to show us that your fangs are as pointed and gnarled as ours, and to make a testament of your valor from the corpses of great beasts. Royand von Sidhe -- Packmaster of the Jegers...

The following morning was an interesting one, Aeon thought in consideration of its events. The boy woke up to the sound of someone sharpening a weapon, as did most of the group, considering Korim was considerate enough...

Just outside city walls, east
Noon
A bright and sunny Ymiden trial, with a slight breeze in the air and the nice feeling of humidity on your tongue. That was what the crazy Lotharro decided would be the first day of...
Wake up, the Jackal whispered. He sat in the darkness, half covered by shadow, the rest of him mounted upon a sleeping Jor Thalla with his leg hanging loosely over its resting cheek. Before him laid a sleeping Trachadon, though he knew the man was far more than that. If he...
