(Qit'ria please) Enrick is hired to help fish for a certain creature.

Previously the stronghold of the Pirate Lords, Almund is a thriving township with a dark side. With houses made from the wooden bodies of decommissioned ships, there are many opportunities here, coupled with many dangers. Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap!

At first it seemed like she would just go straight in for the kill but with their numbers she hesitated, refrained from the innate nature that resided within her being. So she wasn't a wild hunter like Enrick had thought but rather a prudent one, knowing to think before committing acts without considering the consequences. That was considerably good compared to most who would just rather go for the kill, failing to weigh in the risk of the rest coming to the aid of their kin once blood had been drawn.

Yet they greeted her as well as him rather playfully as they swam up to the two, curious of the new creatures found swimming in vicinity of their waters. Enrick's eyes turned orange briefly when a couple approached him but that didn't last, as their playful nature quickly rubbed off on him when they nudged him as well. Violet hues were prominent as green flecks filled their coloration, and he wound up prodding one of the creatures on the nose as a result. It playfully mewled and swam around him in a dance similar to the one that resembled their courtship, only this one seemed more vigorous and interesting than before. It brought a smile from him as he felt the other nudge his lower back, a look past his right side revealed the other wanted attention also.

He twisted around and felt his lungs in need of a new batch of air, thus poked the creature in the same spot as the first before he kicked for the surface. Enrick could hear the playful sounds the two made as they followed him upward, and sure enough he broke surface with the rest of his air puffed out loudly. He had to exhale a little harder when he briefly inhaled, to clear off the excess water that drizzled over his lips. The two irrawaddie surfaced and drew closer to him, one already pressed into his hairy chest with it's muzzle ready to play. "Al'roi al'roi, on wit' ya." He mused as he twisted to look over his shoulder, only to find that Qit wasn't anywhere to be seen. Another nudge. Damn these things were playful!

Enrick laughed and looked down at the creature before him, his smile widened to reveal teeth as he spoke to the irrawaddie. "Playful lil' shyte aren't ya." He mused before he gulped in another deep breath, Enrick then dunked below the surface once more to swim with the sea creatures. Qit seemed to be enjoying the ride on her irrawaddie, even when it seemed to take her further deeper into the ocean below. A dangerous stunt on her part but Enrick trusted her, besides these creatures seemed avidly intelligent in regards to knowing humans needed air. The two that investigated Enrick brushed underneath him until his arms were over each one, and before he knew it they dragged him off further away from the sloop than he intended them to. They drew him further out towards their pod where others would notice him, and in short come to investigate his presence within the sea.

It was a very curious and very surreal to witness actually, an entire school of irrawaddie all curious of his own presence. Somehow he felt a connection develop with them, a sort of bond that while unusual felt akin to the one he sought elsewhere. He connected with these creatures on a more personal level, thus the hues of his eyes were a deep green color that almost looked aquamarine thanks to the water. He needed to surface once again and when he started to propel himself upward, one of the larger irrawaddie followed beneath him until it's muzzle pressed against his feet. He felt his rise to the surface increase far too quickly, and when his face broke the surface of the water he only found time to exhale with a brief inhale. In short the irrawaddie beneath him continued to push him up so that his upper body bobbed out the water, and his balance shifted to throw him back into the sea with legs overhead this time around.

Could irrawaddie laugh? Those lil' fekers were certainly enjoying themselves. Earnest for more air he resurfaced with a gasp, the confines of his nose suddenly burned from the rush of water. "Ye lil' shytes!" He cursed to them with a splash of water, Enrick then finally looked to see how far he was from the boat. Too far for comfort. Qit looked like she was about to strike too, which meant he needed to be ready to swim back. Like now. "Well shyte." He muttered as he looked back down at the creatures beneath him, hopefully they wouldn't see him as the threat when he swam back over...

He inhaled once more and this time dipped below the water with a hard series of kicks to splash at the surface, the other irrawaddie no longer interested in him save for the one that flipped him over earlier. He felt it it prod at his belly which tickled him of course, nearly made him choke on water as he stopped paddling and decided to grapple on the creature's fins. Sure enough the irrawaddie transported him towards the sloop, and to Qit who would likely be making her kill strike any moment now.

Qit'ria saw Enrick being carried over by his creature, and was still surprised by just how fast they could move, especially when carrying a passenger. But it presented an opportunity. For they were well isolated from the rest of the pod, who seemed to be playing way off in the distance, looking to go off on their own business, while these two would just catch up. Qit'ria smiled. Twice the meat. She just hoped Enrick could do his part. She flipped her javelin around, so the point was skyward. She then waited until he was a close as the critter would bring, before tossing it out toward him.

There was no need for her to say anything, for she felt it obvious what her desire was. She hiked a leg up over the back of her own creature, who didn't seem to mind one bit. She was straddling it now, just behind the little fin on top. She gripped tight with her knees, just in case it thrashed about. She raised her javelin above her head, gripping it between two fists, coiling the muscles in her arms, shoulders, and back. A feral smile adorned her face, before she hammered the spear down.

It shunked down into the back of the creature, just behind its head, piercing deep into the thick flesh. It bucked once, twice, but Qit held on tight with her thighs and knees, pulling her spear loose as it let loose a cry for help. Blood spurted up, splashing across her face and chest. She slammed the spear down once more in a different spot, and this time, when the creature cried, it was more of a gurgle. Over and over, she ripped the spear out and slammed it into the beast, while it thrashed about, until finally, all motion stopped. She looked in the distance and saw that the pod was doing a turn about and knew it was time to get moving.

Dismounting the dead beast, she swam vigorously for Enrick's ship. She didn't need to recover the body yet, she could do that after the pod left, which she was sure they would once they realized that the pair of attackers were out of reach. She reached the side of the ship, and attempted to reach the side, only to find herself falling short. She bobbed up and down trying to get to it and still couldn't quite get there, arms too, jumps to weak. Looking once more, she saw the pod was closing in, and fast.

Desperate, Qit dove down into the water a bit down, then kicked her way to the surface as hard as she could. When she breached, she gave an extra hard push off, and snapped her arms above her head. She just barely got the tips of her fingers over the rail. But her grip was slipping, and if she fell back in, the sea huskies would be on her before she could attempt another escape. She flexed her fingers hard to just maintain what little grip she had, and got a foot against the ship's side. That little bit of push off and support was enough to adjust her hands, and she got a stronger hold. Her arms grew taut as she pulled herself up and over the rail, dropping to the deck heavily, laughing as she did.

From there she lay, her chest heaving as her breath was heavy, she let out a victorious whooping howl, paying no mind that she had no idea as to if Enrick made it out or not. Another successful hunt. She pulled herself up to a sit, then to a stand, looking over into the water, trying to find the sailor man. Eyes searched the waters, hoping he'd not died. She didn't want to be stranded here. She didn't know how to make the boat move after all.

Shouting out over the ocean, "Enlick! You dead?"

Seaside Fishing

His arrival near Qit led to her tossing over one of her hunting spears to Enrick, which he fumbled and barely managed to catch when that occurred. Evidently she expected him to join in on the hunt, an idea he would've followed through with in the beginning... until he felt himself connected with the creature. So with that little conundrum in his mind Enrick awkwardly gave her a brief smile, before he took the spear in both hands and hesitated any further.

Did he really want to do this? Sure it could've just as well been any other Trial as a fisherman, but Enrick had literally just played with this creature not even Trills ago. Now he was about to kill a new friend? The idea didn't slow Qit'roa down one bit, almost menacingly she thrust her spear into the creature beneath her. The irrawaddie struggled and tried to get away from her but seemed to be in vain, and the one Enrick rode over responded by a quick dive beneath the ocean's surface. Before he could even say anything Enrick's eyes widened from the reaction, blue hues suddenly brightened to orange as water rushed into his face. He had barely managed to breathe in air before the dive, and once the water hit his face he shut his eyes tight from the sudden sting.

Once they opened to reveal the world underneath he released the grip of his arms and thighs from the irrawaddie, as the creature dove deeper into the ocean beneath them. For good reason apparently. The pod they were well away from had already started to maneuver over towards them, since they heard the cries of their fallen member nearby. However something else lurked within the waters, a predator that unnerved the entire pod well enough. A couple of Northern Sea Wolves seemed to casually swim nearby as if scouting the group as a whole, and now that the two would soon smell blood... well Enrick certainly would be the the one in trouble if he didn't surface quick. "Sblooit!" Was all that came out of his mouth as bubbles rushed from his lips towards the surface, and very quickly so did his gaze when he tried to propel himself upward with his feet.

Should he hold onto the spear? Or let it go and swim for dear life? The irrawaddie that Qit killed still drifted close to the surface, hopefully that would be the object of their interest. Enrick kicked hard a few times and when it seemed like he was hardly moving fast enough, he finally released the spear so he could use all four limbs to swim for the surface. He managed to reach the other side of his sloop just before he broke water, a heavy gasp of air taken in now that he finally had access. "Shit! Shit! Shit!" He muttered to himself as he reached a couple of times for the side of his boat, however he remained just shy of reaching the edge as well. One final heave with his arm thrown from behind him seemed just enough to loosely grip the edge, and finally when he pressed his fingers down hard he pulled to heave his other hand atop the rail.

Thank U'frek! Just as he had a much better grip with his left hand, his right slipped from the pull and he clung to the boat. Still halfway submerged in the water, Enrick felt something relevant to a current brush underneath his feet. If seeing them approaching wasn't motivation enough, that sure as hell was for Enrick to get out. The fisherman clawed and pulled his weight up desperately, eager to get on before he accidentally tilted the boat too far. Qit had already made it in earlier before him apparently, her question of asking if he were dead barely missed in fact. Quite honestly it was heard just as he broke the water's surface, but of course he had been too occupied with getting out to answer at the moment.

Once he fell over onto his side of the sloop he too laid there, sprawled out and soaking wet as water drizzled from his trousers. He should've been smart like Qit, removing those would've made it easier to board again. Though he certainly wasn't crazy about the idea of stripping in front of a woman... well at least not without buying a few beers before doing so anyway. Qit was no mere woman though and she proved that when she killed her irrawaddie companion, a feat that still boggled Enrick's mind as he remained still and regulated his breathing. "Almost." He finally muttered with a soft chuckle, with eyes a deep dark orange color that soon dulled into a hazel color with flecks of bronze.

"T'ere's a couple o' sea wolves down t'ere. Wouldn't wanna cross t'em even if Oi had te gear t' do it." He remarked as he breathed one last nervous sigh, a lean upward to regain his bearings followed just before he looked to watch Qit. "Y' okay? No harm anywhere?" It was then he probably observed her a little more than he should've, and was glad that he kept his shorts on in this very instance. While she showed no immediate injuries that required attention, he noticed then just how well formed her muscles and features truly were. He noticed the tattoo that appeared to resemble some sort of tree on her, he practically noticed everything since she was plain as day naked before him.

He tried to avoid showing it but already, the hues of his eyes were turning magenta.

Qit'ria heard a light thud from behind her, and some scrambling noises. She turned to Enrick clamoring over the side of the ship like a rabbit who'd been accidentally caught sleeping by a fox. She stifled a giggle at his sopping wet clothes, laying there like a sack of potatoes. A very damp sack. She stood there cockily, hand on hip, watching him in amusement. He should've removed his clothes, now he was going to be uncomfortable until he dried in a few breaks.

Qit didn't know what he meant by sea wolves. Wolves lived in the forests. That was ridiculous. At least she thought so, until there was a loud snarl and splashing in the water behind. Her eyes flared hotly, and she swiveled back to the rail, looking down into the water she'd been in moments before. It was just in time to see a massive, fang filled maw snap up through the harpoon that had been floating there, the harpoon she'd tossed to Enrick. It exploded in splinters, as another maw snapped at her dead irrawaddie. She snarled loudly at the massive, fur covered seal-like creatures that were now eating her kill. She grabbed one of her spear, and stepped a leg up on the rail, to jump in and fight for her prey.

But she stopped. These creatures were easily ten times her size, and there were two of them. And it didn't take long for her prey to be devoured. She hissed in frustration, and spun toward Enrick with wild, angry eyes. He had removed his shirt, and she could see his eyes were upon her. Good. She wanted to make sure he didn't forget this. With a heavy step forward, she slung the harpoon forward, twisting on her foot to keep her balance as she stomped forward on the follow through. The spear embed itself in the wood between Enrick's feet. Qit'ria was already storming toward the man, and her fingers curled into a fist. Her arm swung in a wide arc, and struck the man in the jaw.

Her hand lit up in pain and she hissed, before shoving Enrick in the chest, "Why lose spear! My spear! My! Fool man!" She shoved him once more, before reaching down and yanking her harpoon free of the deck. She grabbed up all of her gear, and moved over to one of the walls, sitting against it, legs crossed, gear in her lap. From there, she glared at the man. "Go back. Now." And she refused to speak to the man after that. Not a single word. He'd destroyed one of her most valuable tools, and she'd lost her kill. The ocean was stupid. He was stupid. This boat was stupid. To hell with it all.

Seaside Fishing

Postby Enrick » Mon Apr 16, 2018 2:15 am

Enrick had been too caught up in the recovery of his physical being since he not only came close to drowning, but also being food for a couple of large predators lurking within the water. He slowly rose from his spot where he lay but still remained there, his elbow used to prop him up as he watched the huntress react.

Clearly she hadn't a clue what she were about to throw herself into, as he believed her insane for thinking about jumping back out there. Sure enough she proved reasonable after all when she realized there were two, and in she proved quite unhappy with their interference as well. Just as she turned to him with a burning rage in her own eyes, his eyebrows furrowed as the hues of his own turned a rich bronze color. Was she about to attack him? "Whoa whoa whoa!" He called out with a hand raised towards her in self defense, while her only harpoon left became a spike placed in his boat.

"Whoa now!!" That was his boat! His only baby he had worked hard to earn! Now he had some wild foreign madwoman trying to poke holes?! He tried to push himself onto his feet to deal with this, but before he could even move the huntress hurled a punch his way. A good punch at that. Enrick had been in enough bar fights to hold his own, but he'd never known any man or woman who could hit like she did. A pained force surged through his lower face as he felt his jaw pop in a few places, his face turned away from her from the force of the punch he just took.

"Son o' a- te fuck is wrong wit' ya ey?!" He roared as he turned to look to her once more, this time with red in both his face and his eyes. She shoved him in the chest just as he stood, a step made back to prevent staggering over the side of his sloop like a drunken fool. Her spear? So what? She was upset because he chose his own life over that spear? What a stupid thing to get mad over! Immediately he reprimanded her for it with his own two sense, even if she refused to pay any further attention to his own ranting. "Woman Oi could'a died down t'ere! Sea wolves ain't no picnic fer any hunter, no matter how fierce y' t'ink ya like t' be! Dat spear ain't nothin' compared t' me life, cause what would've ya done if Oi were torn t' bits down below?"

He doubted she could even figure out to sail a boat by herself, hell she could hardly fight the sea sickness that accompanied her earlier. Yet it didn't seem to matter any, now that the rage had past and the tantrum she threw was behind her. Qit seemed to force herself to remain quiet, avoiding any chance of sparing him a glance when he argued back.

"Alroi t'en, fine!" He threw his hands in the air as he gave up. "Let's just pretend Oi didn't do y' any favors bringin' ya out here. Seven asses it's no wonder te other fishermen didn't take ya wit' t'em." He muttered to himself as he turned to weigh the anchor he dropped, his curses more quiet and personal this time as he heaved over and over until the anchor rose above the water. After he'd put all his muscles and back into lifting it onto deck, he proceeded to move towards the wheel to start their return trip to shore.

With a few adjustments made with the jib so the wind could carry them back to Almund, Patrick turned the wheel to steer the sloop around steadily as the current also pulled them along. As he stood at the wheel watching the distant city he massaged his jaw a couple of times, eyes often wandered onto Qit as she kept to herself for the remainder of the trip back home.

Comments : Oh Enrick... Sweet, sweet, sexy Enrick. I think Qit has found her match though, as far as not being able to understand what a character is saying. That accent is THICK. But I like it. Funny how he was busy making friends with the irrawaddie while Qit nonchalantly murdered her new sea pal.
