40th Ymiden, 718
These halls were ancient and seeped with history, demanding of respect and filled with learning. There was no doubting it and Zana had decided that, since she had to stay in Viden for at least a couple of seasons, to provide that she was right to come here in the first place, that she was going to do something which she had always considered to be a good idea. She was going to learn alchemy. There were other things she was going to learn, too, like fighting, but that wasn't for here. Zana walked down the corridor and she accepted the glances from the other students as he due. They could, and should, look at her - she was Delroth's daughter and she bore her father's features and propensity for physical perfection. It was a burden.
She was making her way to meet her new Professor and possibly even her new boss. She'd applied for the job of Research Assistant and she'd asked to be put in the Alchemy Department. This Professor, apparently, might be willing to take her - or so the receptionist had said and Zana's lips had lifted in amusement. Willing to take her? She'd bet that he would be, she thought, but she said nothing and merely nodded her head.
And that had led her to this corridor, and finally to this door. Lifting her hand, Zana tapped on the door and waited. When a voice called out for her to enter, she did. The woman who walked into his office was willowy and beautiful. Long blonde hair fell easily around her shoulders and ice blue eyes regarded him, her new Professor.
"My name is Zana Delroth, I believe you're expecting me," the woman's voice was deep and sounded amused. Her make up was subtle, yet accentuated her cheekbones. When she smiled, her expression seemed vaguely amused and there was an air of haughty arrogance about her which was hard to pin down yet very definitely there. "I am a Letter student and I believe you are considering my application as a Research Assistant?" She said no more than that, her eyes trailing in obvious appraisal over him, his physical form first as she looked at his muscles, physique and how well he was put together and then, her examination moved to his face. She was unashamed as she looked at him, inspecting him it seemed and, judging by her smile and the slight parting of her lips, she liked what she saw.
Without missing a beat or dropping her gaze, Zana's ice blue eyes met Dorans and she asked, quite seriously. "Where do you want me?"

Our love is a bed of nails, love hurts good on a bed of nails.
I'll lay you down and when all else fails, drive you like a hammer on a bed of nails
